Complicated finances leading to reduced transfer fund?
NJS replied to JawD's topic in Newcastle Forum
My honest response is that if this means that they write off all the debt including the ground extension then I'll put up with some cheap signings this window. -
I missed the first 10 or 15 minutes - can someone explain why the sat nav target was 78 degrees north?
-
Can I also be the first complete bastard to say Luque has found his level of opposition (following on from Sunderland and ...Celtic)
-
Positives: Rozenhal, Geremi and Butt - Luque's goals but not his all round play Negatives: Need Milner as an attacker and get Carr forward more.

why exactly? they're completely different types of player. smith is a slow and average in midfield and we have enough strikers. it wouldn't exactly be a like-for-like swap. if dyer is to go, i think we need to replace him with a pacey attacking player who can run with the ball, take on and beat a man and play in at least two positions - because that's what we'll be losing. those kind of players don't grow on trees. Smith is a better footballer imo - and has an agressive streak I like - although I do take your "Like for like" point I just think if we lose a decent player and one is readily available then its an "easy" option (though for a quality player).
-
I would be quite happy if we used the reported £6m for Dyer to hijack Boro's move for Alan Smith.

Ah The Brunny - used to sometime get in there on a Sunday years ago. So classy they had an (in)famous stripper whose placca tits were allegedly a joint purchase between her and the bar - debates were had on who owned which one.
-
Used to go to Rockshots (before it was gay) - think it was called Hoffs when I was about 17 before the match - always found it sordid and completely unsexy. Went to West Ham in 93 and parked up early - this was before the high st was "friendly" enough to drink on so we found a back street pub mainly full of asians (therefore safe) with an absolutely horrendous stripper on - this was when I still wore glasses and she picked on me to give the honour of taking them off and rubbing them into her clunge - absolutely-fucking-disgusting - took me ages to clean them as well.

The stats on absences from this injury are frightening but the use of the word "partial" in .COM's description is hopeful. Also I'd bet under previous regimes a rushed comeback would have lengthened the problem but I think Allardyce will hopefully prevent that.
-
The "Fucking Unsworth" bit is the clincher for me - I've always had a list of players who I think should cost any NUFC manager his job if they score against us and he's on it
-
I'd put Dyer in the same bracket as Shola - I honestly think they have talent but feel they let us down too often so I generally think get rid if possible for a good deal.
-
Probably - I know all death is a personal tragedy for the people involved but I just think my natural level of sympathy can go up or down if I think theres an element of "serves you right" - even if I'm the first to admit to being over-judgmental. On the topic of prostitution (in whatever form) as I've said before if you take out the drug addict/slavery elements I've never seen a good argument as to why it should be considered "wrong" - especially in this form which appears victimless.

I liked the use of the phrase "sickeningly graphic" in the advert sorry article. This is the paper which refers to junkie scum dying as "tragedies" and never misses the chance to describe gangsters (eg Graham or Rice) as "loving family men" and thinks that the most heinous crime ever committed is for idiots to climb lamp posts (Bigg market hooliganism). Skewed morality imo.

The Chron said he and Geremi "weren't fit enough" as they weren't in Austria so a bit behind.

If the way Boumsong tuened out is left aside for a moment (a big deal I know) theres a lot of stuff being written which is stretching hindsight to make more of a story. First of all there are snide remarks about Boumsong being a free transfer from Auxerre - has nobody heard of Bosman? - his contract was up. Secondly He did do well at Rangers according to most people - I'm one of the first to refer to the SPL as pub football but it does count for something. Thirdly thanks to Shepherd's wonderful sense of timing in selling Woodgate just before the deadline we were obviously desperate which would have been exploited by any club and/or agent. Fourthly it looks like he has done okay at Juventus and for France - my honest opinion is that he isn't a bad player just completely unsuited for the Premiership. All of the above doesn't mean that I don't think the coziness of Souness, McKay and Murray in the deal exempts it from suspicion and I wouldn't be surprised if something was amiss but the less than subtle detective work in some of the media articles does go too far imo.

I saw that on SSN and he seemed to be implying that the new regime were being a bit too careful backing him which had caused the missed targets. I hope they take the hint or this 18th of July thing means they'll start being a bit more assertive.

Shades of Bernard/Domi. If a player doesn't realise that its a fresh start and its mainly down to him what he makes of it then decides he doesn't want to stay then sod him.
-
I was being sarky tbh. Like when a non-smoker is whinging about me smoking I'll tell them to have a bine to chill the fuck out, I'm not fussed what brand. Sarky I like - fair enough (Second-hand murderer)

I think the bloke's a grade A toss pot, I'm not religious or anything, but the way he goes about insulting anyone with a modicum of faith, he's just rude. He wants to let God's love into his heart and stop being the embittered husk he seems. Agreed, his arrogance is his undoing, I find his arguments intreging, but his manner and plain rudness undermines his work. Compared with Harris and Hitchens, Dawkins is extremely friendly and "unrude" when it comes to talking to Theists. His arrogance comes from a certainty in the science which is the bedrock of his point of view, whereas the other two do have the contempt more for the irrationality of belief which I share (while also relying on the science). Happy Face: Which one of the thousands of Gods that you do and don't believe in should Dawkins embrace?

It has Julie Benz in it so The chances of me watching it are about infinity to one on. I hadn't heard of it but caught all the adverts thet have been on the Sky channels lately.

What a load of shit. Mark Dennis - good player (though an idiot) Summerbee - funny that the mackems will bite but he was good for them. Kamara - good player for what he did. Micky Droy - might be a dinosaur but was effective. John Fashanu - I despise him but not exactly ineffective.

Don't contribute to this thread very often but I thought I should recommend Ash's new album which I've been listening to today. - punk/pop-tastic. Seeing them on Thursday as well.
