    Forwards

If Arsenal are stupid enough to offer £15m for Martins then that's one out. I like Viduka but we need a similar player who actually plays a season - possibly Carrol but tbh I'd like to see another one in. I'd also like to see another poacher/sniffer in case Owen gets injured.

    Erections

I think he's been kept on a very short leash during the campaign by his handlers but I hope he gets to be himself now - funny but cringeworthingly daft.
  3. The mackem should have decked him for the hammer. Stevie will be seething at the kid's accent.

    Coldplay

I think they're okay but undeserving of their huge sucess (in that they're nowt special). Saw them when Yellow was out and really liked them - saw them at V a few years ago and left after 15 minutes (piano shite). I think the albums are all a bit lacking in range but with some cracking tunes here and there. I think Fix You is a fantastic tune.
  5. The hypocirisy over Moss doing coke (in the fashion industry FFS) was staggering.
  6. Desperate attempt to woo Mail readers. I found his admission that he'd fucked up over the 10p thing quite honest but this is plain daft.
  7. If I was his lass I'd be more worried about the clip of the lass in the pic than the fact he went for it in the first place - he must have "issues" if he didn't realise what "she" was.
  8. Every time the man speaks he reminds me why football used to be so important to me and makes me want to go back there. Not necessarily a good thing but fuck it.
  9. Bit tough on the kid - I'd add "mother" on to the end of the sentence.
  10. Of course it was a history rewrite. It's funny with the recent Avram Grant thing too. When you initially had Chelsea 'fans' singing "you don't know what you're doing" the press didn't pick up on it (much). Now, they've decided to get their teeth into him it gets more publicity. Unfotunately though, despite the general consensus on here, I think most people lap up what they print. You have a short memory. Coming homw from Wigan away on Boxing Day i dont think there was a single fan on my bus who didnt want FS sacked there and then. I honestly think we would have been relegated by now if FS had stayed and im more than happy for the press to claim the fans got him sacked. Its nothing less than he deserved! I think there were a lot of fans who wanted him out - however that's different to him being driven out or Ashley "being left with no choice because of the fans" - as I said Ashley may have taken the fans into account but made the decision for his reasons.
  11. I thnk its a bit of a rewrite to suit the press agenda that Allardyce was sacked because of the fans - I'd like to think it was down to Ashley (a decision I agreed with). I do think there were some rumblings from some City fans but I assume most were happy(ish) - I hope whoever they get fails. Also if we had hung on to Sam until the end of the season we could now have had Sven

The only thing that slightly affected my opinion was reading that the director's commentary shows a religious hint as its undercurrent - this isn't with my usual bias but I just had my own view of it which I was happy with that I didn't want to ruin. I still enjoyed it the last time I watched it.

Only film I've really enjoyed in about the last 5 years - having said that I used to watch a lot more and take more interest than I do now.

No Donnie Darko, No Sin City, No Kevin Smith films and Blade Runner only at 50. I also think ET is too high.
  15. What idiot journalists don't realise is that football fans aren't "neutrals" - its a load of shit apart from sky wankers who've never been to a game. If fans are asked to "choose" between teams they base it on opinions formed over years. Whether thats by talking to fans of the clubs, other fans or just by matches against the clubs involved. This might not work for Port Vale Vs Mansfield or something like that but it works for the top clubs. They also think that all football fans are sky era tossers who don't remember what the scouse bastards were like when they were top dogs.
  16. Inspired by the YouTube one of his captain.
  17. They did do really well to come back but if there is such a thing as a draw bonus I'd withhold it due to not beating a team beaten by Sunderland. On that note I hope Boro sneak third bottom.
  18. Unfortunately, though, these are all problems we're going to face right now. Perhaps he went to Spurs to play European football? The draw of London is far bigger than that of Newcastle for a player who has no allegiance to either club, and has never played at either venue. That's the unfortunate reality. Of course - nothing new - but that doesn't mean I can't decide to irrationally hate him and hope he gets injured in the Euros.
  19. If he's gone to Spurs for an extra 10 bob a week - fuck him. If he's gone to Spurs because its in London - fuck him. If he was given time to think on it and went to speak to Spurs - fuck him. I hope he's as gutless as Maric - would suit Spurs in that case.
  20. I'm surprised Maric is so positive - wasn't exactly well loved and I wouldn't have been surprised to see Titus like comments.

    St George's Day

I think Ireland has shown that that "alliance" can work. I don't know how true it is but I've seen a few thing referring to the SNP as "Tartan Tories" - maybe the people would regret autonomy. They also argue that the old argument about being subsidised by English taxes is now wrong if oil revenues were included so maybe theres a drive to do it now before the oil runs out (not imminent I know but not a long time either).
  22. My first thought was the Liam one. Topically how about the one with Moore on everybody's shoulders in 66?

Cany you honestly spot an ST accent Stevie?

It was actually a replacement level rather than an extra one. I don't live in the NE anymore but I thought it looked like a good idea based on what Scotland and Wales have been able to do.
