That's my attitude but I'm worried by the Intermedia statement.
-
I get what you're saying but Maric and Rozenhal spring to mind.

Finished second that year, I think. No that was 96-97 - the next season everybody got caught up in the fa cup (understandable) and didn't notice we finished 4 points off going down and were lucky to play Chelsea when they had the cup winners cup final to play on the wednesday after playing us and turned up in plimmas allowing a win which made us just about safe.
-
I enjoyed it but I think as it was coming to the end (98 I think) we were looking a bit iffy for relegation under Dalglish and it got a bit uncomfortable.
-
That was first experience of The Simpsons and as a result I really didn't want to like the show - then my brother got Sky and one episode (the NASA one) got me hooked for life.

Second best album in the thread so far (after SBS).

Had input to the decision (as in asked my Mam to buy it -at a very young age) - The Jungle Book soundtrack. Actually bought myself - Sabbath Bloody Sabbath

That's what differentiates a "normal" bloke who might get caught up in a fight with scum imo - just like the stamping and assaulting a woman put them Goth murderers two stages beyond scum. In that vein notice how Barton's mate stamps or kicks the kid when he's down as well.
-
That's the one he's serving for, although in fairness I've seen nastier fights between 5 year olds than that, if that is indeed of his scouser bashing. Typical scum how the lass (his cousin?) gets a couple of digs in while the kid's down.

I agree but I do have a problem with private healthcare which is twofold - firstly because the rich and powerful can and do opt out of the NHS I don't trust their commitment to it - I think if they had to use it then just like education it would be turned around awfully quickly. Secondly the private sector poach staff from the NHS which means their training costs are practically zero - leaving aside the "theft" of tax paid for skills if they had to fund their own training then the costs would be completely prohibitive.
-
All of their albums have some decent stuff imo - though I agree with Meenzer that they are very much associated with a certain time. Off stage I have a lot of time for Noel but obviously think Liam is a wanker - him losing his teeth to what were later described as IT geeks was great.

The only context I've heard of emphysema in is coal miners - that tells me how fucked she is. I actually support the legalisation of drugs in general but you'd need to show examples like this to demonstrate how much they can fuck you up - though that would equally apply to tobacco and alcohol.

RIP Might use it as an excuse to watch Dogma - I didn't realise at the time how ironic casting him as a cardinal was given his views on religion. As well as the one Jimbo posted I'd recommend his piece on the ten commandments. Edit- in fact: Ten Commandments

Low social mobility in the UK has not improved in 30 years
NJS replied to Fop's topic in General Chat
This is why my ideas on levelling the playing field makes sense (to me at least). As long as inherited wealth/education/healthcare continues to thrive and be encouraged the gap will remain. No doubt people will call for a return to the tokenism of grammar schools ignoring the fact that rich thick fuckers still get everything handed to them on a plate. -
I share their schizoprenia - I think its sounds great to stop people like Barton and Smith being paid obscenely but on the other hand in the cliched real world we need to compete.

and you say there are no similarities, that is EXACTLY what the mackems say. The Mackems are wrong because they forget the biggest achivement of regional politics ever - the Nissan factory - ST has had nothing compared to the investment in Newcastle, Sunderland and even North Tyneside (Siemens).
-
In general I'd say most NE areas are pretty similar - Newcastle might have some posh areas (as has ST to a smaller scale) but it also has a shit load of rough areas and the roughest of all - exactly where I started replying in this thread. When I go back to Shields I'll be the first to admit it isn't "nice" and there are problems - however I'd argue on the whole that that isn't down to the people which is what Stevie was getting at. For years ST had the highest mainland unemployement in the UK due to its concentration on a few industries which were destroyed - the fact that they weren't replaced isn't due to how pure blood the people are - its down to regional and national politics.

We might have a toned down accent compared with Newcastle but it's unmistakably Tyneside rather than Wearside. Explain what you mean. Again if you're talking about asthetics then explain how North Tyneside is similar or different and to where. Proper geordies from North Tyneside, and they have a lot of nice area's too. The houses in Tynemouth and Whitley Bay are in another league to South Tyneside. Take a walk from Monkseaton Metro to the sea front one day and you will see what I mean. I've worked with a lot of "pea-ple" from South Tyneside and the odd mackem word always drops in in conversation "bewk" etc... in a St-ea-ve Cram celebrity fan sort of wayah. Ever been to Cleadon or Whitburn? Or Westoe Village? I lived in South Shields for 32 years and never heard a single person ever, ever say "bewk" or the others. I suggest you are a fucking lying idiot.

So why don't you compare ST with NT which is much fairer? - you seem to be implying everything north of the river is Newcastle - it fucking isn't. Cities have money based on things like universities, regional assemblies and organisations - none of which ST has vever had (or Sunderland for that matter) "culturally the same as Sunderland" - fuck right off.
-
It's propaganda in Stevie's quest to limit match attendees to pure blood Geordies as defined by him.
-
Sat down to fill my form in tonight and realised what a good deal they've done. I sit in L7 Milburn towards the Leazes and the discounted 3 year price is £494 which is down from £611 I paid last year (after early bird price or whatever it was) so I'm doing the 1 year single /2 year DD thing. I phoned my mate to check that they hadn't fucked up and he confirmed its correct - we reckon they must have assessed the L7 wings and realised we've been charged too much in the past so have adjusted it (as well as using the gallowgate section for families).
-
Because the average areas of Newcastle are no different to anywhere at the same level in ST and the scum areas of which there are many piss all over those of south of the river.
-
Stevie, unless you come from Gosforth or Jesmond, you have no right to look down your nose in anyway, shape or form at anywhere south of the river.
