  1. The conviction always seemed not quite right to me. I also don't like that having been proved to have got it wrong in a court of law the coppers said they were disappointed and mentioned Dado's family to play the sympathy card to deflect criticism.
  2. Threads like this always make me realise I'm "too much" of a Newcastle fan rather than a football fan - I agree with what you say about McAllister up to a point but I always bring to mind NUFC related grudges - in his case an obscene rake down Rob Lee's achilles at Leeds that he should have been hanged for never mind sent off (he got a yellow). This is probably why I generally prefer talking about football on here rather than on N-O - there are too many "football fans" on there - I was sickened when they had a thread on favourite ever moment in football how many of them chose non-NUFC related events- and that wasn't just the foreigners [/Gemmill]
  3. Costing said solicitors money.
  4. I know I shouldn't but what's the correlation between those quotes and him refusing a pay cut?
  5. I use newsgroups for my porn/movies but haven't bothered so far with SSL encryption which is a couple of quid a month more - apperntly that's pretty secure.
  6. I have no problem with WIse if his role is to identify and buy young talent like Spears but feel that "senior" transfers should be promped by Keegan. Again I have no problem with professional negotiators or even an initial recommendation process but that has to be rubber stamped by Kev. They claim this is how it does work - like most I have doubts.
  7. I know its a cliche but I've bought (and downloaded for free) albums in the past on the strength of one track only to find that the rest is nearly all crap. This means I could have paid £10 for one or two tracks. I can't think of anything else where you take a risk on a purchase like this which can mean something you've bought is almost useless. In an ideal world I'd let people download all the tracks on an album and then have a trial period like software where you either pay for the ones you like or they stop working - technology permitting of course.
  8. La clunge surely? - you can't get much more feminine than a clunge.
  9. Do you complain about the differences in the price of big macs too? I don't know - if the burger sellers all get together and impose pricing models on geographical areas based on what they can get away with and against anti-cartel laws which governments completely bottle out of taking them to task over like the bastards in the music industry do then yes I would object. Remember the CD-Wow case - CDs sourced from countries with all royalties and taxes paid (therefore no bleating moral issues) still could not be imported into the UK because the record companies insisted that they set the price - not the free market. Fuck them all. If the Burger sellers get together....? I'm pretty sure Big Mac sellers all fall under one umbrella organisation Interesting perspective, markets good, copyrights bad. Hmmm. That's the thing though - with orgs like the BPI and the RIAA it's like Burger King, MacDonalds and KFC all getting together - that was my point - maybe they do but they aren't as blatant as the music industry. I'm not against copyright protection per se and would like to see more Radiohead type ventures but spare me the tears for the actual companies and their lobbying businesses.

  11. As I might have said before - until they explain who is stealing the extra 25p (79p Vs 99c) from UK customers they can fuck right off.
  12. Pop into Liverpool as well and Stevie will want your babies. (Why would anyone want to go to Shields who wasn't from there btw?)
  13. Not bad - the only thing I'd add is that being Newcastle fans we should have realised exactly what would happen when we did boo him.
  14. Don't know if its improved since I went to a game 10 years ago - the occasion was enjoyable because of the enthusiasm of the fans but there was just something wrong with it that I couldn't put my finger on until my mate summed it up by saying it was like Women's football - nobody put a decent tackle in all game.

    Earphones

Yeah Shures are the biz - I have a pair of 4s - get some off E-bay as you get a range of ear inserts or can buy new ones so no hygiene worries.
  16. Drug-addled, sixth form, posh twat twaddle.

    The Dark Knight

I've enjoyed a couple of the modern films but Batman is still Adam West for me.
  18. Again missing the fact that Gillespie was kicked out of the game for 3 months by a dirty manc cunt. "because the defence was a joke" Fuck off you know nothing piece of shit. (Yes I'm still bitter)
  19. That's what you get for putting false gods before the true religion of football.
  20. Not too bad - my resolution to get to more home games is only mildly affected by the two monday nights and what particular time in the drinking session that London matches kick off isn't that big a deal.
  21. What was that really sick one that Frankie Boyle came out with about half way through? - he had two last night that really made me laugh - the latter being the pregnant bloke blowing his cock off. Edit: just iPlayered it - it was the one about there being nothing on the internet he wouldn't masturbate to.
  22. Partners bringing the money he seems reluctant to spend could be the best of both worlds.
  23. Fair Play. Just shows you how daft the money is now. He also had to retire with an injury which I think nowadays would be fixable - I think it was a cruciate. He was done by a dirty bastard who played for Palace called Mel Bligh. My claim to fame is that I had a letter published in Roy of the Rovers saying that players who put out other players for a long time with malicious tackles should get long suspensions as punishments - inspired by Bligh/Green.
  24. I'm just too young to be able to comment on Tony Green from a personal pov but I do remember my Dad and Brother enthusing over him. However I think it has to be put in context - he was a shining light in a shit team - in fact his achievement was to almost single-handedly save the club from relegation (something repeated by Gazza in 86/87). I also think theres a James Dean /Cobain factor here where his worth is exaggerated by his early demise. I suppose the shining beacon thing also applies to Gazza in his time with us but I think he went on to show how good he was (though limited by stupidity) which Green didn't.
  25. So what will the cunt do if Spurs, Everton or us take the team he signs for place in the CL next season and maybe for the 2 or 3 years after that? I hate footballers.
