  1. I'd echo the assertion that its quality of support that matters - I sometimes travel up with a lad from Braintree who has been going the same amount of time as me who has the classic Dad moved south "excuse". I was once on the train home from work (London/Chelmsford) when a lad opposite me was talking about how he'd been on the lucky dip list at OT for 3 years and had finally been drawn but "couldn't go" as it was a midweek game. I asked if it was so special why didn't he take 2 days off work and make a decent trip of it - "too much hassle" was the reply - so don't whinge about not getting tickets I told him. What's strange is that taking Newcastle as an example many fans come from within a region which will span other towns and villages (sorry Stevie) so I don't see why people who see their mates making said journey feel the need to reject whatever team that is. Being honest even if they do follow Man U or whoever all over I think that initial need to glory hunt is a character weekness.
  2. 1 per away game. It was previously 1 per ticket purchased they say. The away points used to be one per application ie reagrdless of success. I'm guessing now if you get the chance to buy one and do so then you get the point - that's what happened when I bought my Arsenal ticket last week.
  3. Minor point but Altrinham are a decent level non-league side which he could have supported - I know that could apply to Blyth, Gateshead etc but he can't have it both ways.
  4. She had the wrong answer - she should have dumped the "friends" who took the piss and kicked the fuck out of her sister. I also didn't like the doctor's coverall of his ethics with "it's what they want" - I watched a similar programme a while ago about blokes and that had the same problem - the doctors who butcher people should be questioned a lot more.
  5. That's what they reset it to on request but probably worth trying anyway - worked for me.
  6. He has the habit of flinging himself in recklessly when going forward for set pieces - too many fouls given away and knocks incurred without a goal return.
  7. I know it's petty but... Fuck off Jamie Redknapp. Good team spirit, excellent fitness (remember our scientific fitness expert of a previous manager) and players who are all comfortable on the ball. Another 3/4 in and I think we'll be okay.

    War?

Don't really like the genre - Kelly's heroes being an exception. Also possibly Starship Troopers which I couldn't resist watching most of earlier.
  9. This really pisses me off. For the first time in a while I thought we had two decent centre halfs. Now we just have to waste more time waiting for the "massive potential" of the local fuckwit to blossom. Worst day of the summer by a mile.
  10. Apart from the squad numbers issue it would raise, I'd take £9m in a nanosecond. Made me think of using the money for Turan - has he gone anywhere yet?
  11. I'm not against naming the stand after Bobby per se but it smacks to me of modern day sentimentality. By that I mean the way we have minutes silences at the drop of the hat for people who mean nothing to us (not against respect but the point stands) and other sort of touchy-feely crap. I'd also say that Gallacher would be a million miles ahead of anyone in my opinion if such a naming was done for the "right" reason.
  12. She laid the groundwork with a piece on Saturday which just mentioned completion of the transfer and Cox leaving (ie the facts). Today's effort is just added snipey bullshit.

  14. I actually look forward to seeing your name - I still think you can be a fucking idiot but I think generally you're an entertaining fucking idiot who says a lot of stuff I agree with - especially regarding other teams fans.
  15. Just imagine if Owen, Viduka and Martins are all injured at the same time. The thing is if Barton does get a long ban and Butt picks up his usual suspensions, then that team with the probable injuries you mention isn't that far away from being the first 11. I hope they wake up to that and get some players in.
  16. It would be murder for all you out of towners, the likes of yourself, Happy Face etc...who would get branded gloryhunters straight away. Yeah nobody from outside the Stevie exclusion zone ever went pre 92 and no Sky boys could possible come from the city could they? Fuck off again.
  17. Just thinking LM could argue this was how Shepherd operated which is fair enough but I think it would work better now on a much more solid base.
  18. Fuck the debt. I think for the size of club we are, being debt free is great, but if bigger clubs can cope with debt based on an invest to succeed to service the debt type models then I wouldn't have a problem with an initial injection even if it did come from loans. I honestly do think that £50m-100m would see us top 4.
  19. I think it's a balance - making the club a "proper" business with no debts is great but I'd still like to see a possibly one-off splurge to get us going. Maybe him selling now to someone else to do part b is the best of both worlds.
  20. How many times have you advocated severe punishments for petty crimes? See beyond the actual religion and its the same principle - vengeance not justice.
  21. Yes it does. Unless you have some other criteria other than a court of law. Well it proves that he is innocent in the eyes of the law. But like I said he's been convicted of attempted rape, got several rape allegations to his name, as well as a string of other issues with women against his name. He's not the sweet innocent, low intelligence individual, that wouldn't/couldn't hurt anyone that he is being painted to be in some circles (unless you class attempted rape as not hurting anyone) in fact he's proven to pretty nasty and dangerous. Really speaking his profile is exactly the sort that you would expect in someone that ended up killing a female celebrity for no real reason. As to whether he did kill Dando, or whether it'll ever be able to be proven beyond reasonable doubt. I saw a documentary years ago about the Birmingham four while they were still in jail - they were certainly IRA sympathisers and may have even been involved in the movement. That doesn't mean however they weren't fitted up by the police and did do the bombing. See also the bloke who was fitted up for that Rachel Nikell (Sp?) - another dodgy fucker but no murderer. The George prosecution failed because they couldn't offer any decent evidence whatsoever - I'd call that pretty safe.
  22. Yes it does. Unless you have some other criteria other than a court of law. Spouting about Hamza doesn't deflect from you relishing killing an innocent man - or the irony once again of you slagging of a Muslim when you'd relish Sharia law. Perhaps you should have listened to Hamza - his world is much more like the one you want.
  23. To be fair Kev has gone after Modric and Aimar which suggests he realises the need for a playmaker. Just have to hope we can find one.
  24. If he's scored in the first minute he could have had a future which makes me almost glad he missed. He reminds me of Tony Cunningham - not in style just for the fact I never think he will score so it's a genuine surprise when he does.
  25. Nothings changed - we still have some half-decent but ultimately mediocre players along side irretrievable shite like Ameobi. Guttirez looked half decent but unless we sign two midfielders who can actually play football the season will be another write-off.
