  1. That's my view and I don't see why Rob should get abuse just for pissing against the wind either.
  2. Babylon AD One of those infinitely frustrating films where the premise is interesting but the result is extremely disappointing given that premise.
  3. The Hillsborough that wasn't. I also remember it as being the first time I went to Spurs that wasn't dodgy as fuck - the numbers helped but there was a "quality" factor in our support as well that made it different.
  4. Lisa Edelstein and Victoria Coren are once again NOWHERE FUCKING NEAR BORDERLINE. This thread either needs separating into threads for generally fit birds/ mature birds still well worth one/ borderline boilers if it is to have any future. And Kevin - fuck off.
  5. Yeah he had an alternative option at RBS. Barclays are hiring shit loads as well. I was at Barclays for 6 years - they still have ambitions to be a global player and to be fair BARCAP are the darlings at the moment. That's the branch that's doing the mass hiring - our production manager is off there and the lad who's leaving had an interview there as well.

  7. Where are you going and have they got any IT jobs going? HSBC. I think they use external IT. My colleague has handed his notice in today - off to Lloyds - that takes my department down to 2. I might start looking seriously now or hold out until November when I'll have 7 years for redundancy purposes - however I'm a bit concerned all the cuts fallout will flood the market with job seekers so it might be best to go now.
  8. And the "competitive advantage" could be something worse than malaria...

  10. I have no reason to back Stevie up for the sake of it - as I said saying that goes against what I've been saying in terms of Spurs Vs Chelsea.
  11. I can confirm they did - in fact that was the largest non North East following I've ever seen for a league game. (I realise this goes aginst my earlier position to an extent but the truth matters).
  12. Well after 71, Arsenal did nowt until the late 80s - they were still a top club though.
  13. I know those figures are skewed in exactly the way you describe but I still think they show a "big" club and not one that can be dismissed as easily as to seem to. Spurs also have the first double landmark and I would repeat that certainly as far as I can remember from the 70s onwards were always a top club - moreso than Chelsea. I remember when talk of a breakaway league started before the premier league where they were one of the instigators. I don't get your point about Chelsea knocking on the door - they certainly never challenged for the league in the way we did though under Bates they were obviously improved from previously - much like ourselves though I would say not as much. I'm not some closet Yid btw - when asked which London club I hate the most I usually say whoever we're playing at the time but if you asked me for an instinctive answer I'd say Spurs.
  14. How? In what way? If you're in any country in the world ask a local who Chelsea is and they'll know straight away. They might know Tottenham but its unlikely. Chelsea are league champions one of the richest and most desirable clubs in the world, and Tottenham haven't even come close to winning the league for 50 years based in a hovel in North London. They've won a few FA Cups yes, 8 is it?, Chelsea have won 3 in the last 4 years. It's not even an argument. Tradition, history, fanbase (I think you underestimate them hugely - they are one of the clubs with a higher average than ours). The last time I was "put right" about history by a Yid they had 14 trophies and I think they've won a couple since then. Before Abramovitch Chelsea had a poor history - one league title and 2 or 3 cups - I recognise your opinion is more "current" but as more of a traditionalist I still think Spurs are bigger.
  15. Hate to say it Stevie but Spurs are a much bigger club than Chelsea imo. (apologies if you're winding the wanker up).
  16. But taking just Newcastle or London population wise as your base you're distorting the figures - given that thousands travel from outside the area you have to count that as a factor - even if you took Berwick to Teesside as NUFC and the other clubs area, its tiny compared to adding the home counties to London.
  17. Yeah I wonder how the Mail is reacting to the crime figures being their lowest in 30 years - doesn't fit their agenda any more. (Although give it 6 months and Cameron will get the credit for the "miracle")
  18. Same kind of stupidity but I guess the Jade Goody worship doesn't fit his Northern angle.
  19. I find it funny that they are still able to shoot themselves in the foot so easily while "honestly" sticking to their principles. Brown in the Guardian pointed out that there are two sides to their laws - moral and sacramental so while child abuse is covered by moral law, things like breaking the confidentiality of confession and in this case ordaining women are "crimes" against procedure more than anything. The mistake comes in equating these crimes which leads to the obvious headlines. As I've said before I relish every fuck-up they make as it hastens their downfall.
  20. Not within several light years of borderline. She's alright, man! You misunderstand me - I would kill several people for 2 minutes with her - I meant whether you would or not wasn't even a question.
  21. I used to go out with a lass whose best mate had to have a reduction - back pains and also being dodgy going down stairs apparently - I only saw them when they were a bit above average (clothed).
  22. Not within several light years of borderline.
  23. As per that photo, as per the Royle family or as per that old woman character whose name escapes me? (or all three for variety)
  24. I thought she epitomised the thread title. (With Lisa Tarbuck as well obviously)
  25. And as has been said a few times, started the ball rolling with the investment/retail separation abolition.
