  1. See the difference between climate and weather.....
  2. Filling the ground with families is just another nail in the coffin of my love for football.
  3. I enjoyed a lot of Coogan's early stuff (especially Paul Calf) but I'm not a big fan of Partridge and one of the reasons is the oh so nice potrayal of Geordies as lovable fuckwits. Heathen I just don't like that type of character - probably why I can't stand The Office either - I think Brent is similar to Partridge.

  5. Newcastle United. WE DEFINITELY forced McKeag's hand. A bit naive in my opinion - Hall forced their hand by offering money that was beyond their level of wealth. How's it naive? GMK would never have relinquished control if we had 32,000 every week being content with mid-table. SJH was just the catalyst and escape route when there was no way out for them. That wasn't going to happen at the time though - football as a whole was in the doldrums on the cusp of Sky around the corner - as I and others have said when arguing with LM, Hall was lucky in buying the club on the cheap and then riding the wave of the Sky take-off and cheap credit - it was all about timing.

  7. We used to sit in the Milburn on about the Leazes penalty spot and were moved up to L7 in 99/00. Most of us had bought bonds - not under the impression we'd guaranteed the seats as it was obvious Hall and Fletcher were complete cunts but because we felt it would give us a bit of leverage when we were moved. I'd always known from reading the conditions that the SOS campaign was doomed - cunts can afford good contract lawyers. As it happens when we were moved we were "allowed" to pick all seats together from a couple of areas and add an extra person into the mix so a group of 3 and 4 became 14 lads sitting together across two rows. Over the years there have been dropouts and movements from that area and I think they're down to 4 or 5 now. I'd imagine Ashley has tighened the T&Cs even beyond Hall so I'd say you'd be screwed.
  8. RIP - saw him live in about 83 and really enjoyed the show.
  9. He needed his head kicked in for that 4th goal like. Schoolboy stuff. I didn't notice it on the stream when it looked particularly bad, but the little deflection off Enrique really made it a perfect cross.
  10. It was one of those that looked like a joke from some angles but from a couple it did look to me that the Arsenal player caused a twist in Williamson's body shape that indicated a contact that put him off the ball. Of course if it had been against us I would have called it a nothing contact and a complete joke but that's football.
  11. I still mainly enjoy watching it though I agree they have become a bit self-parodying and maybe they should call it a day. I think the reaction to the Mexican stuff was ridiculous but at the same time I agree a bit with Coogan that it was lazy - certainly that rather than racist.

    I fucked off

I don't blame you Stevie but its still pretty funny in hindsight - a bit of mild piss-taking is fair enough. I once left at half time at Southampton when we were only 2-0 down - I got into my head that we were doomed never to win there and the ref was being a cunt so I fucked off - it finished 2-1.
  13. I always thought one of the most satisfying sights in football was seeing Tony Adams get it wrong and wave his raised hand furiously as an opponent went through on goal - admittedly the bastards got it right for the vast majority of times but it was still great when it did go wrong. The modern equivalent is reading an avalanche of bullshit whinging from cockney scum who despite supporting one of the dirtiest, cheating and most petulant teams around, still don't accept that one of their players can be be tackled strongly and like too many fans around the country think Barton should have his own severity factor added to every tackle he makes because of who he is. Like KSA I hope the fuckers never win anything ever again.
  14. Get the iPhone/Android app and you can do it yourself.
  15. Spot on apart from the twat agreeing Barton should have gone - where did the ball go you tossers?.
  16. I got the impression that Tiote was uncharacteristically shit in the first half which was the big factor - it was him remembering who he is more that the red card that changed it for me. Were you watching it on tv? I disagree with that assessment. Thought Tiote and Simpson put in a good shift throughout. Yeah - I honestly thought they passed him by in the first half - agree about Simpson though.

  18. Ridiculous to the sublime....what was that about team spirit Gemmill? Would love to be the bloke interviewing Wenger: Wenger: "Ref - whinge - Barton- whinge - soft penalties - whinge" Me: "What about the disallowed goal that should have given you fucking cunt!!!"
  19. Platini thinks this will affect English clubs but there's no way Madrid, Milan and Bayern will stand for it either.
  20. Only place I've been in France is Troyes - typical quaint continental market town with cobbled square etc, etc. I have to say Rome impressed the fuck out of me.
  21. Then again you can understand the desire to build in the centre (though the result is shit) and if you tried to build another Washington or Killingworth now I'd imagine there'd be a lot of objections.
  22. Has anyone rooted their Android phone? I downloaded an app to do it at the weekend which worked but made everything run ridiculously slower so I disabled it.
  23. Rotherham is pretty despearate. I know a lot of towns/cities in Yorks and Lancs have a similar industrial revolution feel but the last time we went to Rotherham for the cup it seemed like it was a dumping ground for all the mental patients in South Yorks.
  24. I had this one last night where I was visiting the junior school I went to as part of some kind of "Who are you" type documentary and they had a tourist attraction which was a shark in a tank. Any budding psycho analysers in the house?
