I haven't read the book but I always used to wonder why the club was floated at all - it didn't pay for the ground expansion and it didn't fund a huge transfer foray - I think all our deals over the next 5 years were done "within turnover" as it were. Been saying that for more than a year - though I think "celebrating" an injury is a bit too much. There was supposedly interest in him at the end of the window so maybe having him play - though hopefully as backup - would at least increase the chance of getting rid of him in the summer - maybe even for money.

Cisse reminded me a bit of Cole - a bit raw but great instinct - it's fucking brilliant to see a striker who's so sharp in the box instead of the two useless cunt alternatives we're lumbered with. Went to the gig at the O2 just before xmas and Wire made the point at the end that James had remembered the lyrics to all 38 songs which was an achievment. I love some of the classic Richey lyrics but at the same time a lot of them are (probably literally) a bit too mental. Wire's can be iffy but occasionally he comes up with gems - I find stuff like Let Robeson sing quite inspiring.

Much better second half though rode our luck at times - excellent result with those available.
