Why are the Sky pundits shocked? - as I said he does shit like that in every game.

I would morph "respect for the club" as discussed to "genuine desire to play for the club". I think most players we've signed since 92 have showed it but there have been a fair few wankers as well. I don't mind pointing out that the wankers stand out as those where Shepherd had too much say in them signing. If recognising that has meant a very deliberate policy to prevent it from happening again then its one fantastic lesson to have learned.

Slight knee to Sanchez' arse completely off the ball.

He does shit like that all the time - typical Spanish exaggeration but still good to see a non-coward of a ref.

Fucking West Ham taking it to the last day by the looks of things.

If you cancelled your ST in the last 3 year, will you renew next season?

Still not tempted: 1. Still don't want to give money to Ashley - I've loved this season vicariously but still won't forgive him - mainly for Keegan 2. Couldn't be bothered with the travel any more. 3. I couldn't take my old seat in the Milburn as I won't sit in a family section - would have the hassle of finding a seat in the East Stand (much prefer watching football side-on). Having said that I got an email off the club today saying tickets were available for Man City (subject to being a member) and I thought about it for about 5 seconds. In the end despite thinking I've earned the right to be there over all the years I felt it wouldn't be right to jump in at the end of this season like some kind of glory hunting cunt. -
Drew Goddard the director worked on the last seasons of Buffy and Angel as a writer ( some fantastic eps on both) and then moved on to Alias, 24 and Lost. He also wrote Cloverfield. Joss Whedon who wrote Cabin in the Woods was the main man on Buffy/Angel (and Firefly for that matter).

I was tempted to reply to the "What has Pardew done" thread with "Secured as many ponts with four games left as your new messiah's best ever year, without spending about 100m like he did. Cunts."

I also recognise that for people in too many regions and countries of the world it isn't really a choice which makes it even sadder. I'd also say that priests/shamans/mystics/gurus of all religions since mankind could speak have got to the blowjob conclusion before you.

Would've been interesing to see what the reaction would have been if he had been more traditionally African and had invoked a Witch Doctor rather than Christianity - it would make no diffence to my opinion obviously but I'll bet the use of the word "miracle" would probably have been sneered at in that case.

A repository for priest's spunk.
-
He thanked the doctor at the ground but implied God sent him to the match.

Well if he wants to give credit to prayer/God then I'm going to ask him follow-up questions - if that makes me a twat then fair enough. I think I've said before I read a Paddington train crash survivor questioning the faith of the dead and while this is no way near as bad it brings out a similar reaction from me.
-
I'm glad he survived but many people don't every day. Of course he's just thinking of himself which is fair enough and perfectly natural - I just wished he spared a thought for those others.
-
Choice versus birth trait. Not knocking his right to faith - just his insensitivity. I know he'll believe his prayer pov without thinking about others but I don't see why I should ignore it. My Dad died of a heart attack - his "logic" suggests either it was my fault for not praying or his God decided my Dad should die - even without believing in the God I think its a despicable viewpoint typical of a "loving" religion.

I still want to know what Muamba thinks the bloke next to him in the hospital who died did wrong that made God not protect him. (Bloke used for illustration purposes only)

It was 77 - the only combination of results that would relegate them was a loss for them and a draw bewtween Coventry and Bristol City. Of course the "legend" fails to mention that they did their part in it by losing 2-0 to Everton. Like all stories like that it's become mythical over the years - it did kick off 10 minutes late I think but they've added the two teams passing to each other and shit like that. Of course no Mackems would have been there and there wouldn't have been any cameras so its only reported hearsay. I would normally have a soft spot for Coventry as a result of this hatred but I can't stand Jimmy Hill either.
-
One of Pardew's main tenets seems to be "settling" for a lead and trying to see it out - I think at our current "level" (even if we finish third) it's not a bad approach. I think if we do continue to progress, then we can think about being more ruthless when the opportunity arises.
-
Don't like Southampton but great start in hopefully confirming the initial failure I want to see.

Knock up a letter requesting a 300k mortgage at 0.5% fixed for 10 years and see if you can wing it.

I think the use of gay to mean lame in a sort of half-arsed way (no pun intended) shows a lot of progress to when I was younger and "puff" was very derogatory in a lot more nasty way. I don't agree with whoever said campaigners for gay rights are too "uppity" either - I used to think that about Tactchell but having read a few of his pieces over the last couple of years I think he speaks a lot of sense (especially against the religious bigots) - and I think that cunt Simon Hughes should have been banished from public life for the shite he ran against Tatchell even if he hadn't turned out to be gay himself.

Placed an order with Amazon today but when I got the dispatch email I found they're sending it with DPD so I phoned to cancel it - quite amusing trying to explain to a Yank why. I told them last time not to send anything with them but they can't do it unfortunately. It was too late to cancel so I asked her to email them to leave it in my garage but told her if they don't do that I won't be having it redelivered or collected so they'll have to return it then.

love seeing Spaniards whinging about cheating though.

Know what you mean about the 70s - Bumped into him on a couple of European trips - I thought of it as him being an extra in The Likely Lads
