    His misuse of the advantage rule was terrible Stevie. As I said above, Atkinson was the ref at man city when Ben Arfa was done.

    I would add that I remember McCann breaking Pistone's leg in either the first or second game there and he got a yellow at most.

    Agree largely with Stevie - I think getting Tiote to channel his aggression should be Pardew's Ben Arfa type project for this season.

    Funny thing is Cattermole not playing worked for them in that there wasn't anyone else we could try and wind up to even the numbers. I still think if it had been a home player it would have been a yellow - but we'd have moaned like fuck it should have been red. Will be interesting to see how similar tackles are punished from now on though.

    Two things made me happy today - how good we looked with Colo back and how shit they were - I really hope that's their "normal" standard of play this season as I really think they'll struggle if it is.

    Add to that not giving a foul for De Jong on Ben Arfa and not giving a blatant pen to us in the same game - he's card happy but a blatant homer with it.

    I can see the argument for a red but then there would be at least two per game like that - see Larsson on Shola for something similar. Also always a red with that cunt in charge. It will be tough to hang on now - but a great feat if we can.

    He's admitted being offensive but says being defined as a "racist comedian" was wrong and I'd tend to agree. He's fucked though - its being heard by a jury and the mirror are using clips from his tv show where as we discussed at the time he satarised racism quite well but it was too subtle for morons. If the jury is as thick as the Rednapp one he may as well give up now.

    He's an idiot but this story stinks of coppers being bastards. "Pushed them causing minor injuries" - fuck off. Also they prosecuted him for punching the blokes then on the day of the hearing the magistrate watches the CCTV and says "hang on....." - I know thats the CPS but still.

    I had a mate at school who lived at that end of Prince Edward rd who I never thought of as rough or anything but then one time another mate from school and one of my "home" mates decided to have each other out and this lad turned up to watch with a load of his Ashy mates who were fucking horrible to a man.

    Not one for this "this" "+1" or other variations but that about nailed it. For a lot of away games CT, not counting the Charver national holidays of Wigan etc, the majority of the away fans are the old timers like me (not me anymore but certainly mates of mine) who though they may enjoy the niceness of home games on occasion also appreciate and enjoy a chance to go fucking mental. Its sad that that option is now only really available on a minority basis and I'd love to see a chance for it to come back for more people. However I also know that the twats who run football now will never let it happen. Sadly its with the help of people like you who think football is some kind of modern theatre experience rather than what it should be - tribal warfare. One thing you will notice if we continue to play in Europe is that by and large continental fans haven't lost the passion that too many British fans have - thats why the atmospheres are generally much better.

    Well the fact that most away fans stand tells me theres a correlation between wanting to stand and passion/dedication or whatever you want to call it.

    I've always thought tIf you can't go 2 hours without eating something theres something wrong with you - had a diabetes test lately? Alan Shoulder or Gabriel Obertan is a comparison where you'd lose.
