CT has a point here. The issue may affect some London marginals but it certainly wont make a difference in the SE as a whole.

Pissed off - shit bonus this year. Hastens my exit.

Enough for the evangelicals to care - they must have a lot of hate to go round.

When i was a "Superfan" I did have the attitude that it made my opinions not only more valid but the only valid ones. That view did change as I went to less games and now none to the point where I think we're all in it together. There is still a part of me though that reacts to LM's shite about "3 years paid up" with a bit of the old view that Ive served my time so dont have to take that bollocks.

For. Generalising those against were old white males and obvious religionists eg DUP members.
-
Too much making up for Cabaye's absence imo - those long passes he tries can now be shunted to people who can actually do it.
-
There seems to be scope both ways for other rites as well - I went to a CofE baptism a few years ago which was very catholic in emphasis but another that was very much like you describe. My mate got married in a CofE church but they brought the catholic priest in to bless it - I remember the contrast in tone of couple vesus God in the two bits.

Isnt it a religion thing for Beith? I seem to remember him being very anti-abortion as well.
-
I noticed my MP was one of those opposed - something else to bring up if I ever meet the lying sack of Tory shit.

You're obviiously only an amateur Atheist I do admit to overthinking some things - I know to most people weddings and bpatisms are just excuses for pissups but I guess its a legacy from my upbringing that they should mean something. I mean that in the sense of mean something to the people involved obviously and not an actual meaning to God (may he strike me down).
-
It's much more in catholicism - its a promise to raise the kid in the faith as well. Of course the "substitute" is just part of the godparent deal but as I said there was no way I would stand in a church making vows.
-
I can understand it from the point of making your partner happy but its still wrong on a personal level imo - you made the oaths etc based on something you believe to be false which I think is basing it on a lie (I know signing the register is the legal part btw). Also not saying it was the case but I think its wrong of your partner to "subject" you to that no matter how much okay with it you were. I just think its a bad starting point for a good thing.

Most people fall inbetween the two positions in not being full on Christians or "strident" Atheists but either see themselves as non-practising christians or "couldn't really give a shit" povs - I think its those who think they should be able to marry ina church without it meaning anything that are wrong. Of course you can take a strong position - I said no to my best mates request to be a Godfather for his kid as I would have felt like a hypocrite - having said that I did go to my Mam's requiem mass without a shred of regret or guilt.
-
Actually I have a bit of respect for vicars/priests who won't let people get married/have baptisms in their church unless they do demonstrate "faith" - I think it should mean something more than "Ooh that's a nice building, lets use it" even if it means the church turns down money. This is the other side of the get-out caluse for gay weddings - if they'd enshrined a "right" to get married where you want, people would have abused it to score what I'd call petty points. This in no way lessens my disrespect for religion but I think you can go too far.

The bestiality/incest ones are the best. Having said that consensual sibling incest isn't something I'd dismiss outright if nobody gets harmed.
-
Paul spoke against Lesbians but thats about it - and that was more about upsetting the patriarchy by dressing as blokes than anything sexual which like most religionists he would have been ignorant of anyway.
-
If they want to believe in a loving God who has no problem with them then fair enough - but that isnt Jehovah without a lot of accomodation.
-
Im in favour of anything that exposes religious bigotry and stupidity. I love the way they ignore their own history. The bible is full of multiple marriages and until recently marriage was more of a legal contract than a sacred rite. I think Toynbee sums it up well by saying they should have the honesty to campaign to make homosexuality illegal again but know that ship has well sailed.

Anyone (including Pardew) who thinks its a good idea to leave Perch in should watch last years game when they pissed allover us. I know Cabaye was missing as well and there was no Sissoko but still.

There's no "e" in Hart you thick twat.

Anyone else think that Webb slightly got in Cabaye's way when he tried to close Lampard down for his goal? - all part of the game I know but still a pisser.
