  1. I think any figures for the club would have to be taken in the context of any benefit for SD - whether such analysis exists or if it is the shitfest HF describes is another matter.
  2. I can't in all good conscience go and see them without Bill Ward. I did see the proper line-up a few years ago and don't rally want go taint that memory.
  3. Coulter is beyond bat-shit mental like. Would be interesting to ask her how "socialist" sports are which distribute the best players to the worst teams and have wage caps negotiated by trade unions are.
  4. I know - I just meant that the document thing seemed pretty clearcut which meant her whole "day to day operations were beneath me" defence seemed a stretch. Seems like they went from believing her on the hacking to ignoring the attempted cover-up as minor which I think is iffy.
  5. I know it's always an outside view like the Redknapp case but how the hell they could think she didn't know what was going on - especially considering her attempted document removal which seems to have been ignored - is beyond me.
  6. I see Sir Les has left Spurs - I instantly thought we should get him in but then thought he'd be tainted by association with the pack of shits.
  7. I'm generally anti-zoos - I remember taking my niece to one when she was 5 and it really upset her that the animals were in cages. Having said that if you watch some of the animal reality shows its obvious they are staffed by dedicated people who do their best for the animals. Sea worlds and other circus type things which use the animals as pure entertainment on the other hand are indefensible in my view.
  8. Hereford have been chiucked out of the conference for failing to meet financial rules - if there's no appeal and/or it does actually happen I'll be stupidly pleased - petty bastard that I am.
  9. It's rooted in bigotry of course but I'd say that kind of christianity, like that of the Reverend Jim Phelps, is actually more true and honest to the faith than the wishy washy modern variants - Muslims are heathens in that context.
  10. Overall it's a question of conscience/morality. Most people don't commit crimes because they are against the law but because they "know" the action is wrong. I think asprilla's right that thinking a post-pubescent person is attractive isn't wrong as long as you dont act on it. True paedophilia as in attraction to pre-pubescents is something I still think is a true illness. I also agree that while Hall's and Harris's actions are wrong, Savile's were a whole different level of evil.
  11. No "almost certainly" about it - I do have a major flaw in not being a cunt myself - it's my Mam's fault. I think if they do offer me the contract I'll insist it's on the condition of starting a week on Monday - then I can see how the Barclays one pans out next week.
  12. I might have a bit of a dilemma in the next few days. I've been getting a bit worried about not having a job after finding out how much my previous employer have fucked me over regarding redundancy. Bottom line is I need to have a job by September the 20th or I'll be struggling. Anyway I had a phone interview for a contract role on Tuesday and have a follow-up face to face this afternoon which will be the final yes or no with a view to probably starting next week which is great but its only a three (possibly six) months contract. Financially at the end of 3 months I'd be fine for another 8 months without work which would increase to a year with a six months one. It's also via a consultancy which is how I previously worked as a contractor which should mean "guaranteed" constant work in the future. The dilemma comes from having just had a first phone interview for a permanent role with Barclays and they want to interview me again on Monday (I tried for tomorrow with no luck). This is an excellent job and even though banks are evil as we all know, working for them is a massive plus for my CV. Obviously an interview isn't a job offer so if I do get an offer on the contract I'd be very tempted to take it to calm my fears.
  13. Why don't you get a cheap-ish tablet to watch your stuff at work CT?
  14. Anyone watching Penny Dreadful? WTF was the seance stuff - just didn't get the meaning at all. Enjoyable though with a bit of promise.
  15. Or honest Tories as I call them.
  16. Wouldn't be the first manager to do it - Keegan certainly did at times but I agree it's the serial nature of his shit that grates.
  17. Almost seems a shame that Man City made it not matter now as the repurcussions would have been fun.
  18. I hope the cunt breaks his leg before the WC.
  19. Pisser - proper full on holiday you can't cancel/re-arrange easily? I've been Deja-vued (almost) I had a job interview about 3.5 years ago where in the lift on the way from reception to the meeting room the bloke asked me where I was from as he was from Durham and then followed up with red & white or black & white? There are some lies in this world which are acceptable obviously but that one's on my list of not in this lifetime so I answered honestly. The interview went okay but I had a nagging suspicion it was over in the lift. I've just finished a phone interview which went well and then had the same exchange at the end - thankfully he said it didn't make a difference to him and he wants a face to face this week.
  20. There is a part of me which thinks the morons in this country actually deserve a UKIP government - it would be a car crash but probably entertaining. For starters I'd love to see the first twist of whether he'd deport his wife.
  21. I did Oliver Twist for O level and have no problem whatsoever slagging off Dickens - it was fucking torture
  22. His dad is the Major out of Fawlty towers.
  23. We met a lad when we played PSV in 97 who's a Utrecht fan who follows us as well - went to stay with him a couple of times and he also came over here to see us a couple of times so I tend to keep an eye out for Utrecht but it stops short of support because of the red & white thing. I had a conversation with some Partisan Belgrade fans the first time we played them and they mentioned they supported/hated a few teams in Europe based on black & white/ red & white rivalries which did strike a chord with me. On an "anti" second team note I hate all the glory hunter teams in other countries synonomous with Man U/Liverpool - Real Madrid/Bayern and conversely given the colour thing probably Juventus - though their shit fans are a factor as well.
  24. They reckon Metro drivers target SOS music gigs for strike action - would be quite funny if true: http://www.readytogo.net/smb/threads/surprise-surprise.921046/
  25. Divvent/daint/dinnit is the classic Newcastle/Shields/Mackem trichotomy. Whitburn used to be quite posh when I still lived in Shields - though never as posh as Cleadon - but I did get the impression it was on the way downhill.
