  1. On a point of order we wouldn't have finished fifth without Cisse's arrival.
  2. The Highway code states that when overtaking a bike or motorbike you're supposed to imagine it to be the same width as a car to determine whether it's safe. Therefore single or double file is irrelevant.
  3. I completely get the concept of pre-seson friendlies and when I've gone to them in the past I've treated them completely as kickabouts. The only slight moan I've had is when they travel abroad and knowing there are exiles who haven't seen us for a while if at all, they put zero effort in or play kids - the NZ trip this year being a good exception to that. Having said that, considering last season I think it's fair to view these games as a chance to see how the problems have been approached. This includes new players obviously but also things like looking for a better attitude (even knowing they're friendlies) and signs of freshness and a bit of gelling. My point above was that I've seen nothing in the action I've watched to suggest any positive signs at all (maybe Aarons but that's about it). With only two more friendlies after today to get the "first 11" playing together I think concern for the Man City game is warranted.
  4. All of the friendlies have just been a continuation of the second half of last season, Abysmal defending, too open a midfield and absolutely fuck all created. He has never shown any sign of knowing how to address this and his tactics and motivation are non-existent.
  5. Thing is whether or not the personnel changes, the exact same issues remain which is why I expect nothing until the shitbag is sacked.
  6. Watched The Daily Show last night (Thursday's edition) and the cease fire coincided with Israel running out of ammo and having to ask the US for a refill which was granted immediately.
  7. So they didn't demand it or indeed wage a terrorist campaign to influence its creation?
  8. Jerry Sadowitz certainly named him but there's no proof that was "knowledge" rather than malice
  9. Good luck Stevie. My DVT treatment is going well and my calf is almost normal but they want to follow-up with a couple of tests to see if there's an underlying cause - my paranoia is sure they're going to find somenthing from a House episode which only 20 humans have ever had.
  10. It also explains the homophobia especially virulent in the Tory party - resentment from boarding school abuse. Ironically of course that kind of child abuse has nothing to do with normal homosexuality.
  11. I think the non-creationist view is that throughout our existence, humans have sought out the planet's hallucongenics so controlling them seems "unnatural" in that sense.
  12. It's a stretch as obviously a chemical process is required unlike weed or mushrooms but the point remains. Looking back at the start of this thread I did say that the notion that hundreds of thousands would start to use heroin seems like nonsense to me and I think it would remain a "hardcore" choice anyway. A lot of people have decided by their actions that they feel the drug laws are pointless - that contemptuous widespread use seems to be limited to weed, speed in various forms and regrettfully coke. I think there's a "natural" lack of appeal of heroin that legalisation wouldn't relax.
  13. Or anything else that can be grown naturally. The underlying issue is personal choice/responsibility and the control of that by states - my view is that the fact that drugs were only declared illegal when their use spread to the masses show that control is the reason not health.
  14. The thing that saddens me is their casual attitude to civilian deaths considering their own history. You would think they'd be ultra-cautious in that context. I honestly think that's a result of the religious angle.
  15. It's not black&white either way - as a lefty I do recognise the "evils" of the past but I'm not blind to the positives either unlike most. To a large extent the "civilisation" of the third world has been good for our species imo.
  16. Nearly all of the border related problems in the ME (and Africa for that matter) are to some extent Britain's fault. (Stoked by tribalism of course)
  17. Thats all they need - the jewish lobby via banking wealth is all they've ever needed.
  18. Via terrorism of course. Its a classic example of religious stupidity - once phrases like "holy land" are used, rationality goes out of the window. (Applies to both sides of course)
  19. tbf we should have suggested a brain tumour as soon as the ST praise started - no way love is that strong.

    Gejon.

RIP - thought this was a birthday thread - sadly not.
  21. Well the question still remains about a decision making process on behalf of those who did and those who didn't - if it was one or a very few on either side of the fence then fair enough but if it's roughly even then like I say, there's nowt wrong with asking the question without it being a witch hunt.
  22. Without completely backing Ken, I don't think its wrong to point out that "sensible" airlines like BA took the decision to not overfly the area. Those that did aren't necessarily "cheapo/third world" ones as Ken implied but I would ask them if they did consider it. I think "the authorities said it was okay" shouldn't be an easy copout.
  23. I thought it was a fucking disgrace we signed the cunt on loan in the first place. Modern footballer ethics aside, the manner of him preferring QPR should be his defining moment.
  24. All the best Stevie. I've had a much lesser scare in the last couple of weeks and one thing I've realised is that no matter how scared you are, the NHS is staffed by people for who these things are "normal" and they're great at calming fears. Put yourself in their hands and get well soon.
