  1. No different to any other judging by my holidays this year. Overall they provide excellent value and no hassle as they have no Fucker to hassle you with.
  2. The mirror is tweeting that his "new convert" who he said wrote to him has voted Tory every time since 87. Lie after lie after lie.
  3. That bloke is a fuckwit on every level.

I doin't know anything about curent standings but I would have thought anyone thinking they would beat Australia were kidding themselves? And struggling this far wouldn't have boded well for playing France/SA/NZ anyway - deluded fuckers.,
  5. After Waco I read that there were an estimated 50m guns in Texas which is 3 per person and as Koresh and his mob had only a few guns which was a lot less than that ratio then it could be argued they weren't "good citizens" and actually using the fact they had guns as a reason to raid them was bollocks. That scale of weaponry would be impossible to collect even in the civilised areas let alone Toonpack's hunting backwaters. They could try banning the sale of ammunition but fuckwits will have stockpiles to last decades.
  6. Disturbing things rather than whole films: There was a film in the late seventies called The Brood which was one of the first things I watched on video - this woman gave birth to mutant kids but her womb was on the outside like some kind of sac. Anyway she tore open the sac to release this kid and then licked all the gunge of its body. When I watched it I had some kind of stomach flu at the time which meant I had a horrible taste in my mouth - I remember imagining that the mutant kids tasted the same as the taste in my mouth - this went on until I was well and probably a while after. I think Bob's first appearance in Twin Peaks really disturbed me - and that was then repeated right at the end with Cooper's fate. Tim Curry in It was pretty scary. I quite like John Carpenter's films and theres a bit in Prince of Darkness where Lucifer is reaching out from Hell through some kind of mirror to try and grab this lasses hand to escape with some of Carpenter's typically weird music playing in the background - that disturbed me no end.
  7. It'll get interesting on the cross border question if Catalunya gains independence.
  8. Boris glories in it like a pig in shit - I wouldn't be surprised if he's quids in somehow.
  9. A lot of what I remember as horror films (many Hammer ones) go out as pg on the horror channel in early evening slots. Conversely a few of them are still classed as 18s for late nights which in the context of modern horror films being almost universally 15s makes them at least genuine.
  10. Sticking to their roots would mean playing in Ireland.
  11. James Mason was scary as fuck though - the scene where he asks the priest to put down his cross and holy water down and face the master vamp is tremendous.
  12. I wouldn't say no hope. Burnham on the back of a tory eu split may have won in 2020 but I honestly do think that kind of labour government wouldn't have made any difference to most people. I agree with Chez that a realignment is what's needed with the possibility of a more media friendly successor - I remember the 80s/90s when it looked unlikely there would ever be another labour government but things changed and they can again.
  13. You would have had a full decade of tories either way if any of the others had been elected leader. None of them threatened the current agenda in any way, shape or form.
  14. I agree it's a gift for the media/tories but as I've said if Corbyn's only success is to at least get people debating these issues instead of the mutual acceptance of the past then that'll be good.
  15. Press the button like the option existed for Polaris without us approval ie not at fucking all. I really don't get the deterrent argument - the idea terrorists or rogue states would give a shit about trident in the context of implied US protection is ridiculous IMO.
  16. BTW that Ben Carson is quite dangerous IMO - the way being a neurosurgeon somehow imbues his fuckwittery with "authority" is being used to make him look reasonable. How the fuck anyone can study biology/medicine to that level and still reject evolution is incredible.
  17. Also out of trillions of planets, why did a universal God send his only son to a backwater planet, uncivilised region, oppressed tribe and idiotic time in history after waiting 14bn years for the chance.
  18. The way Catholicism twists itself to "accept" evolution and also the possibility of alien life is a whole branch of craziness in itself. I actually have more respect for 6 day creationists who are at least honest in their stupidity with their fingers in ears "I'm not listening" approach.
  19. Anyone see the stat that the mckems haven't won in August or September for three years running?
  20. Fucking BBC - flew back from holiday and landed at 19:30 - got a phone signal and the football page came up with 2-1 so I thought we'd won. Clicked on the summary and saw 2-2 final score. End the licence fee now.
  21. I think we were so down on Carver that people like me who didn't rate him, convinced ourselves that anyone would be an improvement. The hype surrounding his staff added to that I do think the players signed look decent in bits which if anything adds to my concern about the manager. I don't think he should go (yet) but its going to get harder for him.
  22. They broke a golden rule for me - never go back for someone who turned us down. I know Robson did as well but he's the classic exception. I agree with HF in general about the club but it's becoming clear the manager isn't the competent fresh start everyone thought.
