Yes but even my limited knowledge goes as far as knowing branches of government including the judiciary are deliberately separated to provide checks and balances. He might think he can go further because of the republican grip of Congress but judges are generally letter of the law focused. Of course there's the whole supreme court thing but that's at the end of a long process when it comes to challenges.

I think I said earlier, what's worrying is that he seems to have surrounded himself with inexperienced sycophants - surely the constitution is taught in schools anyway so even basic knowledge should allow anyone to try and tell the idiot how it works let alone the true experts he should have.

I think it was one of those where their player deliberately stepped over him with the intention of getting a reaction. Of course any action should also include 3 nasty incidents involving their players but in reality we'd gain nothing if QPR players are banned.

I think labour "heartlands" and the rust states Trump won share a sense of betrayal of 35 years of perceived neglect. Being told that the country is booming even before the crisis when you're a taxi driver who used to be a miner is /was a pisstake no matter how much NL invested in schools or the NHS. The same applies to places like Virginia and Ohio and being told by Clinton that the cure all was more of the same with more free trade deals reaped its "reward" the same way threatening people in the NE with financial insecurity did with brexit.

Yes, but should a leader of a party accept an agreed policy or lay down his law a la Blair/Thatcher? I think it's up to a leader to set out their views as the ideal but if conference goes the other way then it's not asking too much of them to back it.
