Hidden Figures - they laid it on a bit thick at times but overall very enjoyable.

Birmingham City vs The Championship Table Toppers!!!
NJS replied to StoneColdStephenIreland's topic in Newcastle Forum
I don't doubt his credentials one bit but I tend to agree with Noelie regarding style. As I said the other day I'm happy for the short/medium term to accept functionality but I think he'll come in for more pressure than at other places to address it long term.- 123 replies

Birmingham City vs The Championship Table Toppers!!!

I accept there's a positive angle in that we've extended the lead by 1 point with only 8 or 9 games left but it's still with a sense of regret that it could have been better. It's like having a lazy day when you're on a diet and randomly losing a pound and then thinking if only you'd got off your fat arse it could have been 3.- 123 replies

I'm comfortable with Gayle on the bench - ease him back in, especially with two weeks free to push on.- 123 replies

Incredible amount of sense spoken - he obviously had to go. (Yes I know he was a cunt).
-
Obviously his standing within the game and achievements aren't as great but ability wise I think he's up there. Pleasure given in a Newcastle shirt affects the view of course.

I used to say this about Maradona and it applies to Messi too - I've never seen either of them do anything I haven't seen Beardsley do and I've seen Beardsley do things I've never seen them do. Three things stopped Beardsley being rated as highly as he should be: the lack of 90 mins coverage of every game, the European ban and the bloke himself lacking the ruthless ambition the real top players need. He was right to show the ambition to leave us but he should have built on that - though as I said the ban was a large factor in that. It's also worth mentioning for those a bit young to remember that in the 80s the scouse cunts were the biggest team in Europe and the biggest in the UK by miles and as HMHM said, them paying a record fee showed his standing in the game at that time.

Beardsley by light years.

Leazes Park would have been fine - should have had the head protestor shot.

Could be wrong but I think the club bought the land as part of the expansion deal - thus slaying a "killer" Mackem argument.

Might have said this before but he either is this much of an idiot or the nonsense tweets are part of the plan to appeal to his voters to show he's a maverick.

It's something he really didn't need to do. He doesn't need the money and I'd say it actually reduces the value of the club when he does come to sell it. It's just cuntishness for its own sake.

Do a Mugabe but more people based and take all the land off those two and that duke that owns the rest.

Sadly mental health provision is a big factor as well.

Steve McClaren sacked as Newcastle United 'Head Coach' (Manager)

They must have assumed he'd get them to the playoffs - more fool them. -
Another religious paradise.

It's a theocracy based on sharia law, so yes the whole of it. The fact they hide it to keep the easily eased or unempathatic happy makes it even worse. There are equality issues in the West but we're centuries ahead of anywhere ruled by Islam.

Taking any female there is condoning their appalling misogyny - nice lesson for your daughter - yeah they oppress women pet but look at the beaches.

I'm getting increasingly sick of seeing him play Diame. He's been a key player in some games but he's been abysmal lately.

Seems like they've decided the Brighton /Huddersfield template is the way forward - I don't think it will work against everyone and we should have a home plan based on simple domination and front foot football.

To some extent it's fair. A prime minister should be someone who is an obvious leader of people - an "alpha" if you like. To be fair it can be overcome to a certain extent - I wouldn't call Cameron any kind of alpha by any stretch of the imagination but it's obvious that people did see that in him - more fool them.

Didn't we sort of point out the human rights thing to you on here?
-
Very similar - he was attacked on the basis of not being prime minister material - lacking stature, not being a patriot (cnd) and not "looking" the part. As we keep saying, a lot of traditional labour supporters and those who occasionally vote that way see these as blockers no matter how much they may agree with his policies.

Foot was an intellectual giant compared to Corbyn but it's still amazing they've elected a leader with the same issues twice in 30 years.
