I think they've started off using the prospect of no deal to try and pressure the EU into giving concessions. However I think they're now coming around to some potential "benefits".
-
It's just like DWP sanctions etc - none of their policies are designed to improve lives, only to reassure their voters that a jack boot is being applied to people they despise.
-
The fucker who thinks the answer is to build a new royal yacht?
-
I know I'm a petty bastard but the title puts me right off.
-
The worry would be "Labour" voters who feel that strong about leaving they'd vote for whoever could win their constituency - in marginals obviously.
-
It's not just ukip though - a lot would support the tories if they say promise to leave under Rees-Mogg.

Money to SD is the only thing he thinks the badge is for.

Don't get me wrong, I do think the vast majority are thick, ignorant misled or now dead but I think it will cause a lot of problems if they feel ignored. I agree with Renton (:)) that the best we can hope for is some Norway type deal that "fools" enough of them to keep them sort of happy. Not sure a second vote is needed for that and it won't happen without an election anyway (a second vote that is).
-
Thing is people see a second vote as a panacea. If remain is an option and wins I'm sure a lot of the 17m leavers will say fair enough a mistake has been sorted but a hell of a lot will be seriously pissed off - I think people dismiss this too easily. What if leave wins? - maybe unlikely but another divisive campaign could see it happen - especially if there are either 3 shit choices or a simple remain/leave re-run.

Since Major, Blair and Cameron are all pretty much centrists, can you explain why after 26 years of your centrist paradise, so many people rejected one of its central pillars?

I'm sure HF once mentioned he still had a blueyonder account that worked ages after he'd left them. As Ant says domains and email are a bit different to phone numbers.
-
I'm sure he pulls the same tax evasion trick with all of his "brands" - I think his day to day work activity is just being a cunt.

Smashing Pumpkins next month and The Charlatans +James in December. I've alway had a soft spot for UFO and they're doing a farewell tour but there's only Phil Mogg left and he's 70 so I'm in two minds whether to bother.

Rob W is probably deed this time around.

I used to work just across the road from Jesmond metro so spent far too much time in the Archer - this would have been about 91-92 In fact I remember now the Archer was more of our dinner time haunt and we used to head for the carriage after work.

It's the only thing they can get Corbyn on that's supposedly nasty enough to force him out. Thing is with the membership as it is, if he does go, the next leader will probably follow the same moderately leftist agenda so they'll have to get him or her on something else. Would almost be funny if Ed milliband returned but more true to his beliefs this time - we'd be back to bacon fucking sandwich critiques.

It might have changed with more muscle mass being built in recent times but I think nearly 14.5 stone for a footballer seems a bit much.

I know the West Wing is fictional but going by that I don't think the VP has enough day to day involvement to be the mole.

Bloke I work with has just come back from 3 months paternity leave where him and his wife took a 6 month old and a 3 year old all around Europe in a vw camper. He's says it was great but I think he's fucking mental like.
-
It's a tightrope at times - as I've said on brexit, even setting aside his personal view he has to try and placate both broad types of labour voters - metropolitan remainers and "Northern" leavers. I accept he's generally poor at it though.
-
There's absolutely nothing wrong with the add-on statement imo but obviously politically it's "wrong". It's just a shame that to be seen as playing the game (see Rentons demand that he should just say he'll nuke the world) means people have to sell themselves out to satisfy the cowed.

A Spanish flu type pandemic that wipes out the over 65s would help as well.

I think I was just struck by your comment that the UK is a shit hole in comparison - I'm no patriot but was just pointing out that Italy isn't the paradise you implied. Of course no fucker goes to Sunderland or Stoke for a holiday either. I haven't been south of Rome as it happens and was just basing my view on the cities Ive been to plus Pisa and Lucca.

Do they have those electronic passport gates? I've tried to use them the last few times I've flown back to Gatwick or Heathrow but they just don't work for me and it seems to be a common problem.

Italy is a nice place to visit but I think it's a bit fur coat and no knickers - nice scenery and architecture hides quite extreme poverty which is on a par with if not worse than the UK.
