  1. Chez about Pardew levels of wrong.
  2. And reduced workers rights - that's his thing.
  3. Would have laughed if he'd broken his leg getting off or something but this is tragic.
  4. Just say for a second they come up with a brilliant plan that solves the NI border problem. Does she then really think there's enough votes to pass her plan? She's fucking mental.
  5. Yes but that should be enough to make the foregone conclusion people wary.
  6. I glanced at some fuckers Express on the train this morning and they had a current remain/leave poll as 53/47. Forty fucking seven.
  7. Her plan B is just going to be plan A isn't it?
  8. I'm the most ant-tory cunt going but that's exactly what I suggested at the time as well. Of course if she hadn't called a GE, she might have been able to get a harder deal through as well.
  9. They all absolutely blasted him for not calling an NC vote after she postponed the vote and are criticising him for calling votes now. Different badge, same cunts.
  10. I think a lot of the cliched northern "protest vote" did include anti-fom sentiment. As for the southern non-metropolitan masses who aren't doing that badly economically, I think there was a lot of little englander take back control nonsense and that does include xenophobia. I don't dispute your figures but it would take some pretty honest polling to clarify leave voters which we aren't going to get.
  11. I agree with you but going back on my point that at least some interpretation of leaver intentions is necessary then I think freedom of movement is a huge factor - again it's a pisser but I do think May was "right" to emphasise that as I think it was broadly a "demand".
  12. I think they hope they can keep the chaos going so we crash out on the 29th with no deal. I caught Mogg yesterday or the day before saying the people didn't vote for a deal of any kind, they voted to just leave which to be fair to the cunt is actually the most honest interpretation of the vote I've read - no nuance, just out.
  13. Thought we'd lose and wasn't that bothered but letting a 2-0 lead slip is fucking terrible regardless of opposition.
  14. Yeah I tried The Wire but couldn't be arsed to put the effort in to the dialogue. Might be because it was less intense but I'd also add The West Wing up there as I can dip in and rewatch 95% of episodes and still thoroughly enjoy them even after numerous views. Also think Dexter is up there for me.
  15. I would also say that it's the fact that none of them are standing up and acting as adults and saying fuck this shit that should destroy faith in politics.
  16. I almost gave up on BB in the second season like but stuck it out which I'm extremely glad I did. I did think maybe the sopranos' status might be due to it being one of the first really intense modern shows and maybe now I've seen so many similarly intense stories it's lost something in comparison.
  17. I'm going to commit absolute TV heresy. I didn't see The Sopranos first time around but caught odd snatches of quite a few episodes over the years and knew I was going to have to watch it eventually despite there being a lot of it. Anyway Sky Atlantic have started it from the beginning on Thursdays and I watched the first couple last week and wasn't that impressed. Obviously the performances and characters are there but I just didn't feel engaged at all. I'll probably keep going for a while though.
  18. So they try and make a big deal of having made bids in excess of our record last summer but won't consider paying now about what we paid that same record signing fourteen fucking years ago.
  19. Household budget/national economy allegories - thick as shit, plain and simple.
  20. We did withstand the crash and the economy was recovering. Then the tories got in and applied ideology to punish the poor.
  21. As part of an Ashley "don't rock the boat" PR stunt.
  22. I saw the last half an hour or so of it and while it's slightly Spinal Tap-ish, I found it strangely moving.
  23. Yup, as I keep saying and said to people I work with after the vote, most of the leave votes came from their friends, neighbours and relatives rathen than Northern protest votes. I've seen arguments which go against the prevailing view on here that Labour should be doing better in the polls (which I agree with) that states there's a stubborn 40% or so who remain very pro-leave and that just happens to be what tory support is stuck at.
  24. The homeless bloke who died just outside Parliament a few weeks ago supposedly had a job - that's where we've got to.
