The media have built him up as this likeable buffoon which he's probably bought into as well. They seem to think it's a wildly held view but I guess we'll see.

Labour are second in mine but the only chance of them winning is if a lot of tories vote for the Brexit party and lib dems have the sense to vote Labour. In other words tory banker.

These Black and White Shithouses vs. Doritos FC
NJS replied to Ayatollah Hermione's topic in Newcastle Forum
Turgid dross again for the most part. Though if that's a red then I'm looking forward to some kind of super VAR giving Alonso 3 reds for kicking Yedlin last week and cancelling his goal. -
I suppose there may be movement after the 31st at least as they may be thinking its another humiliation for him if it goes that far.
-
Well then the "vote lib dem, get a tory government" pov applies more than ever given their current position.
-
One of the reasons I'd favour an election after it's "sorted" is that it could then be more of a "normal" election which I think suits Labour - if theres still too many people voting over Brexit then it favours the Tories both ways (staunch leavers and bitter remainers voting LD).
-
Some of the polls look depressing for Labour so I can understand the hesitancy but they were a lot worse last time. I don't think Johnson will be as shit as May at campaigning but then again I think he's more instinctively disliked by people as well. I think it will come down to how people who still think there's a chance of remain vote - if too many vote for the lib dems then the Tories will romp home imo.

It keeps being said that it would and I don't get it - GEs can take 6 weeks and I don't see any difference.

I have a Garmin for data and they do have plans as far as I know but I haven't tried any.

Isn't a permanent CU a good thing for NI failing anything better?
-
I've been thinking that either way there's going to be people left bitter and resentful about this for years to come - "fighting like a Japanese soldier" is a great metaphor.
-
Thing is for a second vote, recent polls have been almost all 50/50 give or take.

Been on holiday for a fortnight and started watching Lucifer which is canny. The crime bits are a bit simplistic but the other side to the story is quite inventive.
-
I suggested a few pages back he'd send the letter and then send another saying please ignore it - I think the view was that would be illegal. I didn't see the fucking big baby not signing it and sending ihe ignore at the same time but still....

A couple of NEC members have said any deal backers will be replaced as candidates for the GE.
-
I know it's probably true that a number of Labour MPs would be happy to lose an election to get rid of Corbyn but even if these "leave" voters fall into that category which I'm not sure is a direct cirreleation, they must surely see how shit this deal is for their constituents. I understand the desperation to "get it done" but at the cost of a Johnson government? They have to ask themselves what the fuck they are there for.

Straight from the Republican party playbook. I suggested that in the US someone like Gates or Buffet should fuck it over by paying for shit loads of IDs for those without - let's see what forms of IDs the bastards come up with as acceptable and then see if it's possible.
-
I'd add that my mate who was going to be a deputy at Westoe before the strike started moved to Nissan Yamoto post redundancy and is now an engineering supervisor which suggests of course there are "proper jobs" for those who want them.
-
I'd guess that simple assembly line work isn;t as skilled as being a welder in a shipyard or a leccy down the pit but fuck knows what they meant really.
-
Think I posted it at the time but there was a guardian vid of some mackems saying they wanted "proper jobs" like mining and shipbuilding rather than the shit at Nissan - absolutely blind to the world. It was a shame that Thatcher put real effort into getting Nissan there but left the rest of industrial areas to rot - I mean that in the sense there should have been multiple "Nissans".
-
I remember the day after the vote when people at work were asking me how the North could.vote leave when it was obvious it would fuck the economy - I replied that you can't frighten people who are generally fucked with more hardship. Polls since suggest a shit load of leave voters didn't and don't care about economic effects as long as the infamous control is regained. Sunderland /Nissan is going to be the ultimate comeuppance of that view.

Dementia and cancer are the main weapons in that war.

I watched a documentary on sky arts about Cream and he didn't come across well on that either - seemed to hate Jack Bruce.
