  1. Phil you sound very knowledgeable.
  2. If using any of them you need to add a tsp of sugar.
  3. Although Im the parent of a grown up boy and not a girl (CT )! I was once a school GIRL myself!! So I know exactly how nasty girls can be. Boys are so much easier to deal with and not so manipulative. The thing to remember is girls of that age change their minds about everything from week to week, including who they want in their group and who their best friend is. They follow each other like sheep. If this was happening to my child Id speak to her teacher first. If things didnt improve I'd speak to the childs parents. If I went along with CT's idea of inviting the other girls round Id also try to include the monster girl Maria too. Its very hard to be mean to someone when you've enjoyed a good day at their house. You are doing all you can I'm sure, just by listening to your daughter and being supportive.
  4. Bastard, I was going to post that. I suppose with the word 'peaks' in the title it was just too much to ask for you all to ignore the obvious Well thanks everyone, no 1 son read this thread last night. I expect he will post later. Im glad you all mentioned about needing a driver cos I think thats sinking in! I cant remember what order theyre doing it in (though I've been told 3 times) But I think they will get to Ben Nevis which of course is a long drive from here. Then they'll camp overnight and start fresh and early next morning. They're not doing it in 24 hours? Oh yeah thats the plan. What I mean is they will travel up to the area the day before, so they will be fresh the next day to start. Torbay is bloody hours away!
  5. Haha its fine... just remember that "time" doesnt even exist. There is no such thing as "time" Yes time is only relevant to us. Oh god now that song from Pink Floyd is in my head!!!
  6. mouth watering here, time for brunch I think! Im fancying a bowl of golden syrup porridge.
  7. oooh stop This kind of thing does my head in, I know I shouldnt have read it cos thoughts like this get stuck in my head all day

  9. I predict that many threads will be ruined with petty arguing. You can all go on the naughty step
  10. Will you be trying to do it in the 30 minutes though? I made Jamies Chicken and mushroom pie which was really good actually. (theres a pic of it somewhere in this thread I think) I also did his steak baguette which was spot on. Good ole Jamie! Ive made chicken and vegetable hotpot tonight, (my own, not Jamie's ) its nearly done and smells really scrummy!!!
  11. ......and thank you very much Bianca
  12. Thanks all so much, much food for thought there I rekon. No 1 son will have a read later I'm sure. (he's an occassional lurker ) I definitely agree like you've suggested, that they need a dedicated driver and like one of you pointed out he/she is their contact too. Must admit I'm now more worried about it all than I was before! I was kinda hoping you'd all say it was a piece of piss!!
  13. not bad for you Bobby Where have you been and why is your comeback only brief? Are you on limited t'internet time?
  14. Mucho thanks, all advice thankfully received by worried mum and passed on to No 1 son What you say about having a dedicated driver makes sense to my hubby and me, but they are planning on sharing the driving but I think they are underestimating how knackered they will be especially if its hot weather. My son is a very organised person so i know he'll take all thats necessary. He's just bought the three maps needed.
  15. Took the words right off my keyboard so I wont have to bother!
  16. My son and 3 of his mates are planning on doing this in July. They are hoping to complete the three peaks in the 24 hours....they're all pretty fit posties so hopefully all will go as planned. I was just wandering if anyone on here had done this and if so, what were your experiences?
  17. Torquay will beat Crawley town in the FA cup 4th round and will draw Chelsea for the next round, which will be a live TV game and we will knock them out with a penalty in the 88th minute. (I originally put Villa but something tells me it will be Chelski)! Cheryl Cole will announce she is pregnant. I will win the Bonus Ball lottery with my number 42

  20. Is this forum working normally for everyone? Last couple days its so slow. I just wandered as we've rebooted our PC and Im using Internet explorer browser instead of the usual Mozilla, so maybe its that
  21. Its really pisses me off to see twats like that waste their money, they dont deserve it Give it to meeeeeeee!!
  22. Hubby and I eat out quite abit now. But I'm not so keen on the 'chain' pubs and restaurants anymore (dont care if I sound stuck up ) They are ok for lunch or a quick meal but its the same menu throughout and though some do two for one the meals are small and the service normally poor. Had a meal in one the other day, meal was ok but they completely forgot our sweets and they didnt even have the excuse of being busy as it was really quiet in there! Hubby said thats it, aint going in there again! He hates poor service and hates to wait for anything so that was that. Much prefer a local pub we go to, its family run, they change the menu regulary and the food is quality. Rather pay abit more and feel I'm having a treat.
