Thinking of you Bev x Likewise TR, stay strong. Aww thanks you two. Dad passed away Monday morning. He did suffer until the end which was awful for him and the family. Big funeral on Monday coming, he was a well known local PC (the old fashoined sort) for 31 years in his younger days. He will have a NARPO Flag draped over his coffin with uniformed police as Pallbearers. I will be glad when its all over, we are all totally exhausted. Sorry TR, it's not good he suffered, may he RIP. Keep everyone safe and make sure they appreciate Dad for himself. Also keep them away from the shop and the toys until their heads are clear again. Thanks Sammy and everyone. xxx Feel better after a good sleep and back again into work tonight. Then I'm off for five nights. The bastards I work for only give ONE shift off for compassionate leave. I had that last Monday night as I was too tired to go in as we'd been up for practically 3 nights taking turns at hospital. I've taken this Monday night off as its the funeral day, but I've taken it unpaid as my hols don't start again until April. How bad it that? It was the same when my Dad died, one poxy shift off! And they call it compassionate As if you'd feel like working having just lost your partner/parent/child? Sammy they are working on the engine of my sons racecar right now, he has his first meeting at Brands on the 10th April. It had been neglected obviously as hubby went to the hospital every evening/night for nearly 7 weeks. So now its all systems go and I think it helps as its keeping their minds off the upcoming funeral a bit.

Its when you see little spots/specks, especially when looking at light colours. Its little pieces of debris which are floating through the vitreous fluid in the eyeball. They seem like pieces of dust or dirt but you cant wipe it away as its within the eye. They are normally harmless but can be a sign of a torn or detached retina. MY best mate kept getting floaters then they became much worse, she was seeing them all the time, luckily she went to the opticians who sent her to hospital right away. She had laser treatment that day to repair the tears. Very scary! She needed the other eye done at a later date too.

Yeah, I drink very little really, so its no problem. Get your Doc to increase it to 20mg and you'll be pain free in no time I bet! I do have misgivings about taking any medication on a regular basis, but I was desperate in the end to try anything. I still worry about long term effects though. But then you have to think about the quality of your life now. I just wish there was a 20mg tablet but it jumps from 10mg to 25mg, so you have to take two! See..... I've been very polite and made no reference at all to your particular problem Bianca That's cos you can't think about it without getting amused. Aye I might just double up on my current tablets for the time being.

I've been on Amitriptyline for nerve pain for 3 months now. Only a low dose of 20mg a night. (for depression the dose would have to be much higher) It normally takes a few weeks to really work. Initially it made me a bit drowsy but not now I'm used to it. Wonderful drug! Useless as an Anti-depressant apparently but very good for nerve pain. I think the only negative is its increases your appetite I'm only on 10mg and its definitely made a difference but hasn't completely got rid of the pain, so I might ask for an increase to 20mg when I go back to the doctor. I noticed the difference probably after about 10 days. At first I thought it was hopeless! Does it affect you with drink as well, in terms of making you sleepy? Re the appetite thing, when I first got prescribed I did some reading on the internet and a lot of people were complaining about weight gain which I didn't fancy. But then when you read a bit more they were saying stuff like "I find myself sitting around doing nothing all the time because of how drowsy they make me". I don't think many drugs, if any at all actually make you gain weight, but I am sure I am hungrier (that only happened after about a month mind) I started off on 10mg at night for the first week then my doc increased it to 20mg, which has made a real difference to my life. I don't seem to have any side effects at all. Its incredible! With the alcohol, at first I could barely manage a small glass of wine and I'd be sound asleep But now I can have a couple of drinks and I'm fine, anymore though and I'm all out

it's a tough decision Dont do it, make space for them somehow. I have kept most of my old albums and our first computer...a C64 (I did try to throw that out a few years ago but my son wouldnt let me) I've also got an Atari 2600 (the earlier one) with loads of games.

Aye you look a bit Irish, so do I, ye can tell the Irish blood people on here like. J69 looks Irish too. I was born ginger, like. I don't mean ginger. Irish are dark with defined features, ye can tell someones got Irish in them by looking at them imo, the ginger thing is a myth, unless ginger Irish are from the six counties. My Irishness is from Tipperary and Kerry. I agree with you there. My grandad is from County Cork, I have a very Irish surname. Surely being ginger is more associated with the Scots?

Noooo try my way- and use spring onions too! A splash of mustard if you like it is good aswell. There ya go Bianca

Can't beat it. Diced onion in the patty? Yup. And parmesan and jacob's crackers. And an egg. ? Recipe please 2 medium red onions, peeled and finely chopped 6 Jacob's crackers, whizzed up in food processor 500g lean mince beef 1 teaspoon salt 1 heaped teaspoon black pepper 1 large egg, beaten A handful freshly grated Parmesan Fry the chopped onions with some olive oil for 10 mins or so (until soft). Put to one side on a plate and allow to cool completely. Then put all of the above into a mixing bowl and scrunch it all up so it's well mixed. Form into 6 patties about 2cm thick, and put onto an oiled baking tray. Put clingfilm on and stick it in the fridge for an hour until the patties firm up. Once they're ready, get a frying pan really hot, and cook for 3 to 4 minutes on each side - no oil required for cooking. You can make a spicy sauce to go with them too with. 4 parts mayonnaise to one part ketchup. Pinch of smoked paprika or cayenne pepper Juice of 1/4 to 1/2 a lemon, depending how much sauce you've made - don't put too much lemon in or it goes dead runny. Ha! 'smug' That more or less how I make my own burgers anyway! Been doing that for years! Though I normally use white breadcrumbs instead of crackers.
