  1. I've loved it on here over the years and still pop on now and then, but although I hate to admit it, if I've got half an hour online I check my mails etc then go have a looksie on Bookface Although there are features I hate about FB I can tailor my FB settings to how I choose and keep up to date with family and friends that I want to hear from. (a few from off here too) Of late if I come on here and choose a thread to read it more often than not ends in bickering and I've got to the stage in my life when I just cant be fucking bothered with it all! Secondly after all the years on here most thread topics have been well and truely covered, I used to start loads of them way back when! I just feel I'm repeating myself over and over
  2. Yesssss I do! Just dont come on here very often now. I for one think Lewis has made a mistake. It seems he lacks proper guidance from 'real' racing people. His management team manage bands too! I think he is quite unsettled by how well Jenson has fitted into the team he thought of as his own, I dont think he feels so secure and supported there as he used to feel. But what a scoop for Perez! Ferrari's loss there, and probably because Alonso will not allow his team to have a really talented driver as his team mate. I hope it comes back to haunt him!
  3. Easy choice for me, I'd give up films without hesitation, I can't live without music Car or Internet is tricky, I suppose I'd give up the net. But I'd be
  4. Thank you MF And sorry to hear your very sad news Cath xx
  5. How special you all got to celebrate your parents Golden Anniversary. My parents in law had their Golden, but unfortunately my Dad in law died just 9 months before their Diamond Anniversary You're so right, life is very precious, I'm constantly struck by how fragile we are. I try not to take anything for granted now. Life has taught me a few hard lessons!
  6. No that's so wrong. Cry if you feel the need to and let out your feelings. Even if you have to wait until you are alone, that's fine but dont store it all up. My hubby did that after the death of his Dad 16 months ago. He held it all in...though to be fair maybe he felt relief at first that it was all over after watching his Dad stuggle for ages. But then 6 months down the line it all hit him and he was a wreck.
  7. I'm glad he pulled through Renton. I can relate to that, losing my Mum at 12 was tragic, but I was very young. But losing my Dad in 2008, after watching him for over a year deteriorating and losing his mind was the most traumatic thing ever to go through. He was 5 and 1/2 stone when he died. I hadnt even been that close to him since I left home at 16 either...but I looked after him those last couple years and did all I could. It's awful to lose a pet you love but it is not the same.
  8. R.I.P. We love every corny moment of Days of Thunder in our house!
  9. I see mention of Ginners...sorry but you know me, I have to add a piccy of The most gorgeous ginner ever!!!
  10. http://mofarahrunningawayfromthings.tumblr.com/ I posted this in the Olympic thread, but thought it could do with a thread of its own. Thought some of you could add your own versions!
  11. That sounds like my hubby talking! Exactly! I've always said (and on here in the past) that some people should not be allowed to have children. There is so much scum around and they are producing more and more, it makes me sick!
  12. yeah I love them all!! I expect some of you on here could do your own versions too
  13. I'd happily have a drink with any of you really. Would especially like to meet Cath, Gina, Bianca and Ant. And of course Snakey!! (where is he)?

  17. I agree, what a talent and a real darling too!
  18. oh and thanks!...yes cutting it fine, not their climb times but our van is not that fast and not easy to manoevure on some of the bloody tracks our Sat Nav took us! I thought several times we were going to die!! Brakes were playing up too, the master cylinder went, lucky hubby can really drive else we'd not have made it at all!
  19. Nevis (in 5 hours, 15 mins in torrential rain and zero visibility)! Scafell Pike- starting at Wasdale Head, longer drive to there with a steeper, harder climb but shorter distance...amazing climb in heavy rain and mist..3 hours, 45 mins. Snowdon, Miners path...supposed to be the easier one but they found it surprisingly hard. Path coming back down very scarey and almost impossible, in heavy rain again!
  20. Thank you........for both comments LOL
