  1. Aww c'mon...give us some snow!!!
  2. He actually uses a bicycle for his usual round...but at the moment he has a van, because he's on a long rural round. I'm glad he isnt using the bike....they are utter crap!!
  3. LOL Yes they were all grockles......(though they probably think we live in a haystack and drink cider all day)! Tom-Miniraider is 26 (I had him very young) Since he was a toddler he has been taken to race tracks all over the place and never wanted to race himself...even when our mates kids did the ministox racing when they reached 12, he had no interest to race himself. For years he did national radio control car racing all over the country (he was very good and had sponsers too) Then about 5 years ago hubby was building a new Tigra hot rod and offered Ross a go around a track in Cornwall....he had a go and that was that!!! He 'borrowed' that new car and raced hot rods on the short ovals and won the Mendips track championship in his first year and then won it again the year after just to prove it wasnt a fluke! He is just a natural. Then he got tired of short oval racing, did the ARDS test and got his national B license. Now this is his third year racing circuits, he is good.
  4. Thought I'd post this video for any of you 'race fans' to see. Its my son racing at Brands on Sunday. Its cool as he has a new in car camera which is brilliant. Its a Racelogic Video and Data logging system. It gives him loads of info as he races, very handy! Just watch his first lap.....epic! He passed 9 cars !

A belated Happy Birthday to you! xx Sorry I am so late
  6. I'm getting Clarence Acuna vibes here like. OOhh I had forgotten all about him!!
  7. That's all very true, my son is a postie. What they expect him to do in the time allowed is totally ridiculous.
  8. Not in a great mood..... royal mail could not deliver our parcel from America because there was £5.42 customs duty to pay....which is fair enough but they stuck £8 on that for a 'handling charge' Just to stick a card through our letter box! Also I have loads to do today and then we're off testing the race car at Pembrey, South Wales tomorrow....on Mothers Day!!

Aye, I can't abide by it either. For some reason I've never been able to get into it. Have you tried watching the British Touring Cars? (ITV 4 all season) Absolutely brilliantly close racing, you may prefer that as its far easier to relate to.
  10. Aye looked pretty good last night, especially as the space station whizzed in between all three! Space station will do it again as well tonight at exactly 18.31pm. Worth a look. (You dont need a telescope as it will be extremely bright tonight. Even our lass thought it looked canny cool). Excellent...I love it. Its fairly dark where I live too, but best place to view is on Dartmoor.
  11. Get that telescope out tonight CT!! http://earthsky.org/tonight/moon-jupiter-and-venus-light-up-evening-sky-on-february-26
  12. A belated Happy Birthday xxx
  13. No!!! really?? I thought you could see that from anywhere! How about if you are viewing it on your Wii?
  14. There ya go Parky! http://www.bbc.co.uk..._Star_on_Earth/ Also another Horizon program......about Black Holes http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b00nslc4/Horizon_20092010_Whos_Afraid_of_a_Big_Black_Hole/
  15. I miss stuff like Horizon over here. Any idea the best place to watch it? As Horizon is a BBC program, cant you watch it online via BBC iplayer?
  16. I just said exactly the same thing to our lass about making my own stock after reading TR's post and she looked at me as though I was mad. I once watched a Jamie Oliver episode where he did it like that and it looked the dogs bollocks tbf. Honestly it makes a really tasty soup. My son thought I'd gone mad too when he came home and remarked there was a lovely aroma in the kitchen...he soon changed his mind when he saw what was simmering away in the pot Tis easy..... Just break the carcass into 4 pieces or so and add whatever herbs and veggies you like for the stock. I use carrots, fresh thyme and rosemary. 1 onion. Mushrooms. salt and black pepper. Swede. Cabbage. And some juices left over from roasting the chickens. But chuck in whatever you fancy. Cover with hot water and simmer on the stove for a few hours or use a slow cooker like I do, I gave it all day. Then just sieve and you have your stock. Any pieces of chicken that have come off the bones can be kept and saved at this point. (I put the stock in the fridge overnight so that any fat comes to the top and can be taken off) Then just cook whatever veg you want in the stock. Then remove the veg and thicken the stock using a Beurre Manie. (flour and butter paste) Put your cooked veg and any chicken you have back in and Voila!!!! Tasty!
  17. It is a little time consuming I suppose but well worth it and pretty easy.
  18. Its odd not having him post Why did he delete his account though? That is so final.
  19. Anyone see the Horizon program last night? Dr Brian Cox....can we build a star on earth. Fascinating although I got lost a few times!
  20. AW I havent been on here much lately...so I missed Alex going Hope he comes back, he's one of the good guys.
  21. I'm making chicken soup. I slow cooked the carcass and veggies/herbs for 8 hours yesterday for the stock/broth which tastes like heaven! Today I will add the fresh veggies and thicken it up....mmmmm
  22. How about this run for Torquay United then? P16 W13 D2 L1 'That makes us the form side in the country by a long way, 7 wins in 2012, 1 defeat in 16, 41 points from 48. Whichever way you look at it there isn't another team close. Goals conceded in those 16 games: 7 (3 from Accrington away, so 4 in the 15 other games) However the best stat of all is this, apart from the Accrington game we have not let the other team define the result. We have not had a win changed into a draw, or a draw into a defeat. If we score first we win. if we don't score the game ends 0-0'
  23. I didn't even get owt for the wife! Mission accomplished btw. Told her last week that Valentine's needed knocking on the head. No cards, no presents, no meals out. Which is exactly what came to pass. Left over chicken dinner and a couple of episodes of Spooks on Netflix. Sets the tone for the next 50 years. shocking! Glad I'm not married to you, poor girl!!! No, I sort of agree with you, hubby and I do send a card to each other and always have, but I told him not to get me flowers as they put the price up so much and rip you off for Valentines! But he came home with red roses all the same Though what made my night was Torquay beating Cheltenham away to go level on points at the top of league 2!!! Seven straight league wins and 13 wins from the last 16 games. Wooooo hooooooooo
