Film community is very small and it's as important to know people as have a killer script.
-
My god have they all been crocks?
-
Just try it. 9.99 of all scripts get rejected so its not like you have anything to fear.

Everyone here would probably say their dream job as a bairn was to be a footballer, but you need so much luck, focus and dedication. It isn't all about talent, I bet there are people in this forum with more natural ability than some professional footballers, you just need everything to click in to place, not just in football but in any job where there are infinitely fewer opportunities than people willing to do it. My ambition was to be a journalist of sorts, I don't think that could ever happen now, I'd need to go and get a degree for one, and fuck that, but good luck in whatever dream you chase. You don't need a degree. Apart from footie what would you like to write about or have some degree of knowledge about?

Without a shadow of a doubt Tyson is one of the biggest stories in our times. Going from bullied schoolkid to world champion is the stuff we all dream about. Good luck with the years ahead Mike.

Exactly. He's not one for the sheep, but most of his comments hit the nail on the head. He has turned into a bit of a nob lately, but suppose fame and being so god damn right all the time is bound to make you big headed. Thirded. Plus, anyway, I'm literally amazed at some of the comments on this thread from people I'd expect something different from. FFS freedom of speech is nothing to do with this so-called 'hand-wringing'. It's common sense! Jesus wept, do we want to live in a world where only 'normal' comments are allowed or are we actually allowed to make our own minds up? Also George Galloway has been elected a member of Parliament and Canada are part of the so-called 'Common wealth'. It's an utter joke the guy isn't being allowed to speak in a supposedly 'free' country called Canada, especially when the USA has no problems with him. He's banned for National Security needs apparently . Maybe someone can tell me how old George is going to threaten the Western civilised world with his wicked pen and tongue? have you seen our PM FFS, the guy is scary I personally think he's a robot. I think the issue is his (GG) ties to Hamas, giving money or something, anyway because our gov't has Hamas on a "list" of terrorist organizations his affiliation is what the stink is about......not what he has to say. As fer Parky, hahaha Canada boring!!!??? Whatever, if you've been here, fair enough to each their own. If not, STFU!!!! Canada is anything but boring, T.O. Montreal and Vancouver are all world-class cities with world class night life. Calgary, well I apologise for Calgary it is boring as fuck. Only joshing mate. Don't take anything I say on these boards too seriously. :(

Dannystien ought to remember.

You've still got the issue of the two main parties being too similar to stave off voter apathy imo. Possibly until the public realise a leopard never really changes its spots when the tories do get in (which looks inevitable). I'd also agree with CT that there's nothing like austerity to stave off public apathy, trouble is it always seems to hit the North worst and people from the South have shown themselves to be callous cunts in the past regarding this. I think they're both centre-right parties now tbh. Can't see that changing in a hurry. On top of that within 5-8 years all key strategy will be decided in Brussels.

Agree with Alex, the game has changed forever. The last great looting spree has come to a dead stop. The bigger pisstake is that it will be public money bailing out the thieves.

Since when has it really been free (as in beer)? You always seem to be out to try and take control of that which you don't control (which is basically why the internet is no longer free - as in speech) and bend it to your will (or profits). I meant charge for information, like newspapers etc. It'll probably happen anyway. Adam cooks up a new economy over a light snack at his desk.

We'll hold off for a bit then.

Agreed. The system will need restructuring (re-regulating) with an eye to capital flows and risk management and also perhaps a closer look at risk insurance (where the Germans got caught out - vis a vie Deutsche Bank). We are paying the price for over de-regulation. Now common sense and massive fiscal intervention (I agree with the package) should theoretically correct funding flows. Ironically we will be imo where we ought to have been in the beginning of the 90's ie oversight on massive market forces and I'd go further and re-take control of the Bank of England for a spell. Any ideas welcome. I dunno that retaking the BoE is absolutely necessary (although maybe, as they will own the whole country soon ), but I'd rather they be put back in charge of regulation (and stronger regulation) rather than keeping the FSA which already failed so spectacularly. The FSA is a total crock of shit. Unfortunately the only ans now is to get into the Euro and get under the 'bigger umbrella'. The cunts have got what they wanted. England is finished. This and start charging for the internet would be my two policy proposals. I would add nuke Brussels to that list if I may. I actually like Brussels. I'd do away with Germany in its entirety mind. Then you'd be getting rid of the only country holding the Euro together fishface.

There is more to come. All that bad money hiding offshore (bundled toxic debt instruments). Hiding offshore? I have no doubt with falling asset values and rising defaults more debt will go "toxic" but I would love to know where this hidden mountain of toxic debt is you speak of? Off-book. Every major European bank is on the brink bar none.

This crisis proves how quickly money (with so much deregulation) vanishes from the system. People are left holding the bag once again. We need to get banks accountable again and hit them hard when we catch them fucking about.

I'd say New Labour are probably more right wing than the tories in many ways, in fact it's hard to see the difference in many general polices between Thatcher and Blair/Brown (apart from that Blair/Brown should have realised that they'd failed and were a mistake). John Smith's death was a tragedy for the country. Some sense at last.

Wow youre a proper little keyboard warrior arent you? I am fully aware of where new labour stand in the political spectrum however their softly, softly approach has bred this layabout subculture who think they are entitled something it for nothing. As for state intervention remind me of how many nationalised banks we have now? I really don't think you have the first clue DB. Sorry. ha ha really. nothing like a reasoned, well thought out point. Maybe you are just too detached over there? Ok...(Yawn) What is your point about the banks? You said there was more state intervention in countries such as Spain and Germany. Yet in this country the government own a controlling stake in, Northern Rock, RBS and Lloyds / HBOS. You don't get much more intervention than that. THAT IS CAUSE CAPITALISM IS FAILING YOU THICK CUNT.

Thye tried to stop David Icke, but he got in, god knows how Galloway didn't. As I said earlier, the most boring, pointless country on earth and I'm inc Belgium in the mix. In the near future America should just invade it and take all the gold and oil. the mounties will stop them! Not with those comedy hats!!

Keeping you in a job though He doesn't even understand the basic linkage in the failure of deregulation and poor risk assessment/taking/greed. Market forces are failing yet we still have bufoons posting as if it were 1985.

Ashley didn't listen to KK and stuck by Wise...We got relegated. [Thread closed\]
