Rubbish. KK had him in the bag but couldn't get MA to go the extra mile on wages.

This is what relegation scraps are like....
Park Life replied to Asprilla's topic in Newcastle Forum
Just need to increase our seasons wins total by a minor 25% and we still might be relegated. More realistically we'll be lucky to end up with 2 more points this season. From what I saw last night we will beat Boro and have a fair chance of beating Fulham, neither will sit like Pompey did. -
I'm not sure Modric would have come He was at the training ground having a coffee with KK.
-
Xisco. I remember reading something about him in Marca where they were basiccally saying how average he was but a trier.

I'm more of the view that it's hard to single any players out this season. That's how bad they've been. Bassong is my player of the season. He's mine too. You take my point though. I said in the bar after the game that for all the stick he's got Butt isn't far off player of the season. Obviously you'd have Bassong ahead of him but there aren't many others ahead of Butt. And Butt's been poor to say the least. I know it's bewildering.

If you take into account fee, inj and performace. Owen Colocinni Raylor Hon mentions to Nolan Duff

You see we would have waltzed it last night with just a Modric in the side and the cohesion/creativity he lends a midfield.
-
We had 70% possesion in the first 25 min, we lost our chance to win it by not scoring during this period imo.

3 years ago Viduka wouldn't have put away the second chance. He wouldnt have or would have ? When i watched that i was thinking if only he had had agility training all week he might of got there. Tbf i though he would be the first to give up out of the 3 strikers but credits to him he did try and stick it out. Corrextion he would have.

Looks like you called it right regarding Hull all those months ago.

We are sorely missing some creativity or at least some decent pass threading from midfield, all too often there are these these chipped balls coming through from whoever and they are totally pointless. When the ball came to Owen I never even considered he wouldn't just chip it over the prostrate James. Martins just whacks everything 1 in about 6/7 is on target.

Guthrie the best passer we have by a mile.
-
Surely you had your fill at Old Trafford?
-
Overbarry Martins. Really lacking creativity, we had so much possesion but nobody to pull the strings. Viduka looking most likely to set up a goal. Smith has just remembered what that big hairnet thing is for at both ends.
-
Guthrie could be the talisman.
-
Good posession for the first 20min but distinct lackof a 'door opener'.
-
Will play a part, at a stretch start. Personally I'd start with the strongest side - inj worries aside, this is a game where due to nerves an early upper hand will be key.
-
IMO tonight we will for the first time see whether the new management team are working stuff out.

Newcastle full-back Jose Enrique could return from his knee-injury but Steven Taylor (ankle) and Joey Barton (metatarsal) are doubts. Strikers Obafemi Martins (groin) and Mark Viduka (Achilles) have suffered no reaction to their returns to action at Tottenham last Sunday. Portsmouth have doubts over forward David Nugent and defender Younes Kaboul who both have thigh injuries. Midfielder Niko Kranjcar is still missing due to his injured ankle. Beeb. This is what worries me. "The Magpies are yet to win under Shearer; Portsmouth have won three and drawn four of their nine games under Paul Hart."

Thought Smith had a good 20 min last run out.
