Mike Ashley puts Newcastle on the block

He does have form. -
Are you taking the piss? North Korea do this all the time; they hold the economic powers to ransom when they start running low on oil, rice or cognac for their dear leader. But of course now they obviously have upped the stakes by acquiring nukes (officially now anyway and albeit only 2 or 3 of them) and have been lobbing missiles over Japan. If Japan eventually do change their war renouncing constitution NK won't have the balls to do that anymore. Japan are even talking about expanding and then exporting their own military hardware (to its allies only), something which was taboo not that long ago, and they have designs for their own next generation stealth fighters. Japan also have enough weapons grade fissile material to have a stockpile of nukes greater than that of America's. Perhaps Japan should convert some of this material into nukes to shut NK up and also to keep China at a distance when they eventually become that region's superpower. But I digress. A lot of the sabre-rattling being done now comes down to the fact South Korea have a very anti-NK government in power. Little Kimmie (NK's dear leader) feels threatened by this which explains all the war rhetoric over the past week. Plus of course he wants his luxury goods. Much will depend on how far China would back NK. Being an economic powerhouse now I doubt they would want to threaten that due to hostilities caused by a little parasitic mad man. The United States have their hands tied (in a manner of speaking) since China basically owns America's very large debt. Personally I am not concerned that this will escalate into anything very serious. Because if Kimmie were to bomb downtown Seoul or fire missiles at Tokyo, as wacko as he is, even he would know that he would be blown off the face of the planet. Negotiations, negotiations, negotiations are what will happen here. Kimmie will get his little goodies, SK will back off a bit and the rhetoric will disappear... until when Kimmie next runs out of goodies. Well perhaps you're right, but to paraphrase you, the notion that 'a little parasitic mad man' is armed with nuclear weapons and has the capability to deliver them to his (absolutely detested) enemies, or sell them to terrorists to get his 'western goodies', is of concern to me strangely enough! Clueless. Well I think that (for once) he has a point - we'd be a bit happier if we had any idea of what the hell they are thinking and how they are organised They could have a careful plan and all sort of controls or the Dear Leader might have the launch button next to the Cognac bottle - its a bit worrying if you live in the neighbourhood......... These people make President Dinner Jackets crowd look like the Swiss What launch button?

I meant that even if a sale took a while we'd still have time to do something - assuming its pre Ausust 31st of course. Another cynical view could be that as you say he's using a "sale" to avoid meeting Shearer's demands freeing him to go back to Kinnear (nice shout out in the piece) after Al has told him to fuck off. This is a major worry. -

Problem is Ashley was paper rich, but not really cash in hand rich like say Abramovich, so now his fortune has dwindled (helped by some stupid decisions in the stock market and of course at NUFC) he's -ing himself and is trying to pull all the drawbridges up and whether the storm (and this has been the increasing problem since just after he bought the club IFO). Arsehole doesn't seem to realise that his best option is still to try and keep going and come out the other side with everything in as good a shape as possible, and selling NUFC is likely to be much easier/only possible in a good year or so's time - he's still got more than enough behind him (at £800m) to run NUFC if he actually wanted too. The options we're now likely to face are another season of fear and uncertainty where nothing can be done (al la last season) probably with similar results (up to and including relegation from the Championship) or being sold to a consortium of chancers that cannot afford it and make Ashley look stable and sensible. Looks like he's pushed the panic button. Will we get new owners soon? Well it's a huge oppurtunity for someone, the club has massive potential. -

Good riddance. -
I'm actually looking forward to the fixture list... It's going to be the first season in freaking ages where I haven't had to go through the list, scoring off Anfield, Old Trafford*, Stamford Bridge, Liverpool and Man U at home as total write offs. It's weird but Every game is winnable. *I know we got a point against Man U but who expected or even dared to hope it Looking forward to enjoying games again without screaming at my chinese stream and smoking a pack in 2 hours.

He is class and we need him and he's cheap. Don't imagine the club would turn it down, just saying I would.
