Agree here. Labour should be holding the Govt. to account in every detail of Brexit and if they are socialists they should be blocking Brexit at every turn.

There is no left and right in America. It's a Corporate dictatorship. Funding rules ensure it.

It's one of the most prestigious review sites out there. It does come down to the individual reviewers however. Obviously I disagree with it and Hacksaw Ridge which was 16 years in the making with two very dedicated producers who had a package that wasn't easy to put together as the hero isn't the normal kind of war hero etc...With the religious angle I think Gibson is a good fit. He also brings an intensity to the battle scenes that are imo unmatched bar one or two films. I agree with you a little bit reg the performances but I think Gibson crafted it so that there is a distancing effect from the usual camaraderie and interplay among the soldiers you normally get. The performances at camp seem forced and empty and even the Vaughn moments don't fully hit home. This device pays off when the battle starts and the charters start to come together and slowly the interplay becomes more meaningful. There is no easy connect with empathizing with them that is normal war movie fare. The situation is meant to be uncomfortable and unbalanced with an eye to the nightmare that is to come. -

Hacksaw Ridge. 9/10. One of the most gut wrenching, realistic - battle scenes ever committed to film. Gibson shows he can be in the big leagues as a Director any time he so chooses. Only loses a point because the first half is a bit clammy and stretched. The characters drawn too precisely with no space in the frame to ponder. Make no mistake however this is one of the most diligent and insightful comments on war and the men caught within that black sphere you are ever likely to see. Strange couple of weeks. It's probably been 10 years since I rated two films (Manchester by The Sea) and this so highly. -
Might be worth a gander. Better not be shit Gloom.

Clinton would have doubled down in Ukraine and Syria and we'd be headed for Armageddon. But hey quibbling Trumps persona is far more important.
