Again that was a combination of MS's monopolistic pressure on manufacturers directly () and the "this isn't windows" effect, even though netbooks arguably function much better for what they are meant for with a modern Linux based OS than an 8 year old XP (still don't think they'll get Win7 to work well on "netbooks"). Looks fast from what I've read this morning. Basically MS is -ing itself over Google because they are beating them to the punch over online applications and (seemingly) OS's too. We could be seeing the last days of MS as it has been (they'll be harder to shift out of the business world though), although it isn't a massively good thing if Google just swaps places with it, even if their business model remains different (competition is what is needed for innovation). Been predicting that for a few years now. Google in 10 years will be the evil giant as the original business spirit is sapped out of it by Wall st. Possibly. All started in a garage.

Nothing to do with the BNP, but that bit seems rather undemocratic (although attempting to call the EU democratic can largely only be said in the company of Iran ). Seems a very good way to protect the status quo and private interests in fact. It's not democratic anyway.

When I take over all CCTV will be taken down and people won't have to carry any id as compulsory. All healthcare, public transport and education (for life) will be free. UK based business will have massive tax advantages over overseas based businesses that piggyback the UK market and nobody who is unemployed will get any money unless the contribute work (of some kind) to society.

Nick Griffin, the BNP's leader, has shuttled to and from Brussels since European elections last month in a push to take a central role in a new grouping of far-Right MEPs. But Mr Griffin accepted on Tuesday that there was "no possibility" of the BNP finding sufficient support. "We have failed to form a formal group. It's disappointing but not surprising," he said. As an "unattached" party outside a European political grouping, the BNP's two MEPs will lose out on extra funding worth £1 million a year, will not get a party office or administrative staff, and will not possess the right to vote on the parliament's main committees. The parliament's rules state that at least 25 MEPs from seven different member states are required to form a new bloc. Mr Griffin, along with his colleague Andrew Brons, had been in talks with Hungary's far-right Jobbik party; France's National Front; Belgium's Vlaams Belang and Ataka, the nationalist Bulgarian party. Their plans to forge links with other parties, such as Italy's Northern League, failed because other Right-wing groupings feared that the BNP's controversial reputation would lead to isolation. "We will remain in the unattached members working informally with some of the groups such as the Front National and Vlaams Belang," said Mr Griffin. "We held discussions with several others as well but haven't had any joy." The first main danger is averted. Yay!! As part of a bloc they would have had much more power and more free cash.

Only really used that (in terms of the national team) for the first time in 2002 I think and that was pretty 'European' way of playing with two DMs and the emphasis on Cafu and Roberto Carlos getting foward in the wing back position. Fair enough, it allowed Ronaldinho, Ronaldo and Rivaldo to play in attacking roles but the classic Brazilian teams with attacking flair always had four at the back. True. I've always loved the way that the way the kids are taught their positions at Ajax, carries them right through to the national side. Thing about Brazil though is that even with four at the back it was all about the full-backs getting forward and it's always been a position held in high esteem there going back to Nilton Santos through to players like Carlos Alberto and Cafu and R. Carlos in more recent times. The worst I've seen is the 6 at the back that won Greece the tournament. -

Well good for them. Those Personalausweise here are quite handy, too. Can't understand the fuzz about it. whats this? (bolded bit) German version of the personal id card. so is this in addition to a passport?, or does it replace it? No idea. I carry nothing and change my mobile every 2 months and have a special pill that induces immediate memory loss on capture. I think Mrs P has both. But for flights within the EU the Ausweise is enough.

The Brazilian 352 or the Dutch 343 have always been my faves.
