  1. Pretty much everything at every level was wrong at Newcastle when he came in, this was compounded by the owner/chairman not taking any steps to correct it, which is why every manager on the planet turned it down before JFK was asked. Some of the main pressures he had to work under; * He only had a short term contract, so had no power or respect the job should have come with. * The club was for sale. The uncertain future would have made motivating/galvanising the squad very hard. * Fan/player bemusement at his appointment. Most said 'who?'. * Everyone wanted Keegan back and thought his appointment was ridiculous and very temporary. * Constant media ridcule (e.g. saying he turned up to train when the players were off). * The squad was tiny injury ridden squad that had no creativity. The list goes on, but my point is he took on a job no f*cker would, so show him a bit of respect. A couple of weeks ago you couldn't fathom why people blamed the owner though Phyllis. Not very good at this, are you?

MIght have to go and see this.
  3. I like Mark Hughes, I hope he gets a fair crack. IMO he is a talented manager, but might get overwhelmed in this scenario. He is quite steely mind. Sneaky, "We would like to think we could offer John a different challenge," Hughes said. "He's been at Chelsea a long time and I know from my own experience as a player that when you have been with a club for a long time you get to a point when you think you need a new challenge and that a change of scenery would re-ignite certain things within you.
  4. Red nose has started with the sly comments already.
  5. My overdraft feels very real, Parky ...you need to counter their made up money with some of your own.
  6. The word on the street is that the £100-150m owed to Ashley is still part of the deal, its just that the new owners have two years to pay it. My point is then who would risk, or gamble that newcastle will be promoted at the first or second attempt? The profitable group are in it for profit, in there words " the profitable group exists to increase the wealth of its clients, its employees, and its owners, through strategically selected products that offer exceptional returns along with risk that has been professionally assessed and minimised. Keith Harris also states anyone investing in a premier league club " the club should generate enough money to fund itself, so if you do it correctly you should not have to put money in unless you choose to, and you can generate a return of between 5%-10% in the value of the club every year, over a period of 7-10 years. If the 100-150m owed to ashley is in the takeover price, then 10 years x (10m or 10%)=100m - 150m things just dont add up, if you had your pension invested in the profitable group would you be happy with this investment? Promotion = 20-30% in my eyes, but its all about gambling now, unless its a sheik with unlimited funds, so i think newcastle are stuck with ashley unless he drops the 150m. I can't work him out any longer, he's gone of the reservation.

  8. I keep saying he's running out of money but nobody believes me.
  9. More proof if any were needed that all this money and digits on screens is made up.
  10. didnt he start out as a striker?? seem to remember reading that somewhere?? Yeah, play him anywhere but CD.
  11. Can't blame him, what sort of players was he able to get in at Blackburn? Don't suppose his wages are too bad these days either. You reckon he's got the minerals to pull this off?
  12. Tevez is going to play as wingbacksweeperstriker.
  13. Shame Ci$$ty are going to leap frog you this year.
  14. Probably forgot to put this back in during the op.
  15. Seems to be enjoying these press conferences. Almost smirking he was next to Tevez.
  16. I hope you're not closing in trying to smell my hair mind I've just washed it.
  17. When the ball hits the head of the maaaaaan in row Z... that's Zammoooooorrraaa....
  18. Steve Stone "broke into the national team" That's supposition and I don't buy it. I think if anything his value will only go down. is he bollocks, Young is one of the fastest in the Premiership, Downing cannot come close to comparison. I honestly believe it's better to have a 19yr old pushing the established winger, than a 24yr old who will not want to be sitting on the bench 90% of the season. this is fair enough, but he could acheive this with a younger player. "Comparative". Villa will want to play 2 wingers man.
