  1. There are offers in for Martins and Bassong apparently.
  2. “And we have made them a realistic offer." McMahon. Not sure 20m will cut it though.
  3. Well they have continually been in the papers about this and that....Who knows. I think they might have been on Watchdog once or twice n'all Still waiting for my profitable plot.
  4. "Although hopes of a sale have begun to fade rapidly among United fans after weeks of delays and passing deadlines, United sources have also attempted to reassure The Journal the club will still be sold this summer. The same senior club official insisted last night that several groups remain interested in completing a £100m deal and claimed Seymour Pierce, the bank in charge of the sale process, remain confident a resolution to the increasingly damaging saga will come before the start of the Championship campaign on August 8. That, though, has done little to relieve the tension on Tyneside, with manager-in-waiting Shearer a frustrated spectator at his home in Northumberland and supporters utterly disillusioned by the farcical situation." Journal.
  5. If a football club goes into Adminstration then the first thing that has to be paid is the players contracts, unlike a normal business that comes before the tax man even. Isn't it the case that MA will ringfence his personal cash and the SJH simply won't have the money to pay the players? Just a thought, could be wrong.

  7. nited takeover latest: bidder's improved offer STEVE McMahon's Profitable Group have slapped in an improved offer for stricken Newcastle United. And the Singapore-based company is waiting for a response from Seymour Pierce, who are handing the sale of the club. The Gazette understands the bid – which came after several days of talks in London – is the second formal offer that the Profitable Group has made for United. However, it is unclear whether the terms of the offer match owner Mike Ashley's £100m asking price. Managing director Derek Llambias has previously played down the firm's interest, though sources in Singapore insist they are 100 per cent committed to buying Newcastle if the price is right. Former Liverpool midfielder McMahon, pictured, joined the Profitable Group's board last year as commercial director, and was seen at St James's Park a year ago. It was understood McMahon held talks with the club's hierarchy over commercial deals in the Far East.
  8. Why hasn't someone from the FA made a comment on anything to do with the clubs situation? One of the largest clubs in the world, currently being run into the ground by an obviously unfit owner, you'd think they'd be panicking over what could happen? If the club does financially implode, there might be grounds for legal action from the supporters. Not sure if there is precedent for this, but the EU Court for Human rights has large ears.
  9. The sheepskin is doing well and can occasionally be seen drinking in up market bars.
  10. At about the same time Shearer was supposedly identifying players to sign (even though he wasn't manager) and Bassong was being offered a new and much improved contract to stay though so you take everything with a liberal dose of salt. Im guessing the Government will have to mobilise a medical task force up here soon with the dangerous levels of salt we're now taking each day. Military grade at that.
  11. A lad at work has a mate who did have a good job at the club, as part of his role he had to speak to the manager two or three times a week, every time seemingly when he went to Kinnears office he was sitting watching the telly. Not a game, not research on our next opponents or anything like that but actually sitting watching the likes of This Morning.
  12. A casino boss ffs!! You really couldn't dream it up. A man with almost no idea about the football business..
  13. His red nose must have lit up like a beacon when he took the call from SA.
  14. Terry might be the stalking horse for the arrival of 'The Special One'.
  15. I wish there was an embargo on the insanity at SJP.
  16. I'm launching facecrook next week, a social networking site where you lure gullible teenagers and part them from their money.
  17. Apollo 11 Moon landing: Neil Armstrong to skip 40th anniversary moonwalk party Neil Armstrong, the first man to walk on the Moon, is reportedly going to skip a celebration of his achievement to mark the Apollo 11 mission's 40th anniversary. By Our Foreign Staff Published: 12:11PM BST 16 Jul 2009 Previous1 of 2 ImagesNext Neil Armstrong has generally shunned publicity since his days as an astronaut Photo: AFP The notoriously publicity-shy Armstrong will appear briefly at an event on Sunday, but will not appear in public on Monday, 40 years to the day since he set foot on the Moon. The event at Nasa's headquarters in Washington will be attended by his fellow Apollo 11 astronaut Buzz Aldrin and one of the last men to walk on the Moon, Eugene Cernan. All the lying must be getting to him.
  18. Evil prospers when Good Men do nothing.... ...... or summat "Cry havoc and slip the dogs of war etc..."
  19. Seems to lack vision which is strange as his other business model is all about fast acting and taking risks sometimes against the market. Thats exactly how i'd descibe the january window. I agree. I'll be in Campaigne mid Aug (2 hrs from Paris). PM me your mob again.

  21. I agree it's all of his own making. He can't have it both ways...ie he was being responsible by paying off the debt at the expense of investment in the squad, then change his mind. The guy is a complete lia®bility but legally, he owns the club and there's not a thing we can do about it. He can decide what price he wants to sell it for whether it fucks us in the process or not. I really would like to think that at some point, a well organised group of supporters manage to "persuade" him to just fuck off one way or another.... I wonder if there is and precedent for supporters to take legal action against a negligent owner??
