I assume Shola's the horse? Seriously Parky, what makes you think he would be an asset to the team in the CCC? I haven't seen him play for a long while but has he improved? iirc he couldn't hold the ball up, rarely struck the ball cleanly, let defenders off the hook by giving away obvious fouls all game long, little heading ability, little awareness of team mates around him. Generally spent the game lolloping around at a snail's pace, huffing at the ref, sulking when he was ignored, with the odd dribble up a blind alley and no end product. Never chased down defenders either. And this is Shola at his peak Is he really better than Carroll? I've mind melded the fucker. All will be well.

"But it's not just Italy, Spain and Japan that face eye-watering increases in their elderly populations. China is the world's growth engine – yet it is also one of the fastest-ageing countries in the world, as its fertility rate has been below replacement level since 1991. Within a decade, its labour force will begin to shrink, a geopolitical change which the US authors of this report note will start reducing China's basic advantage in the global economy – cheap labour. In Britain, the most striking fact to emerge from this report is how relatively benign the pace of change will be. Indeed, the report suggests that our "total dependency ratio" – which adds together children and pensioners – will actually fall between now and 2020 to the lowest of any big European nation. It will accelerate rapidly after that, but will still remain markedly below our (ageing) continental cousins. It's partly because in Britain, longevity lags behind that of France and Italy. But it's also factors such as high net immigration and relatively high fertility. Britain's population will continue to rise through to 2040, approaching 65 million, while Germany declines from 82 million to 77 million, and Italy from 58 million to 53 million. Britain also saves more, a puzzling statistic given our propensity to splurge on debt as well. We hold private pension balances equal to more than two-thirds of our GDP, second only to the US. We also have one of the least generous welfare systems for the elderly – with pensioners retiring on incomes under half the level they had in employment, compared with 89% in Italy." Feel the fear but do it anyway. http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2009/jul/2...pulation-growth

In 30 years we'll have the best dependancy ratio in Europe.

The way to do Mars would be to send payloads of supplies and equipment from joint space station we already have (some of the heavy stuff) lightening the payload of the earth launch as much as possible. Then send one man missions to Mars separately on extremely light plastic based launchers. Mars solved.

I'd imagine Meenz would be the source of proper advice in such matters. -

More evidence of the Spurs media bias. His appointment shows all that is wrong with UK governance at the moment (and was probably thought up by the other major Evil threatening the UK - Mandy), it's all about PR and headlines and feck all to do with policy or knowledge. Brown will probably appoint the next Dr Who if it gets high enough ratings and it's still looking like he'll be wiped out in the next election (assuming he doesn't manage to somehow put it off till 2013). Mandy is a Bilderburger btw. He is pro one Euro state and all that voodoo.... He is the direct spawn of Satan and a Sith Overlord so that is to be expected. He moves only at night and it is said the village grows still in his presence. -
NicVos strikes back.

Hereditary peers >>>>>>>>>>>>>>> politically appointed peers. The whole point of the Lords is to act as a legislative safeguard, not to be filled up with people you own to get your latest knee-jerk fad, open ended, draconian, piece of legislation passed (of course that is exactly what Governments think it should be). Although a proper republic would be nice too Although we might end up with President Blair again......... although we may well anyway with the EU. He'll be president you can put yer house on it (although on him would be better). -
There's not a shred of real evidence to suggest any of it was faked though is there? The idea that the Apollo 13 incident was somehow faked, for the motives you've suggested, is frankly ludicrous, and again would require the complicity of hundreds of people. Have you seen the photographs of the damage to the service module? I think there's something a bit sad about these conspiracy theories. Firstly, they demonstrate a complete lack of critical thinking from the conspiracy theorists, but secondly and more significantly, it's an insult to the people who risked their lives to make the Apollo missions a success imo. My personal belief in both cases are that they were genuine. As Alex alludes to, there's far too many people who've kept quiet who definitely wouldn't have done had it all been a sham. I'm simply playing devil's advocate by suggesting those the two incidents that are most likely to have been staged. Yep I've seen all the detail of the Apollo 13 explosions. I used it as a case study on my manufacturing degree years back. People know jack shit and care even less. No argument that relies on people knowing anything ever stands up to scrutiny. First rule of the Empire.

Like an old 78 vinyl? Thick, Black and Fragile. He and Carroll might be able to become decent target men, I suppose. I can't say I'm too optmisitic about relying on them as main sources of goals though. You can get 20/1 on Shola and 14/1 om Carroll being top goalscorers... http://www.oddschecker.com/football/englis.../top-goalscorer We're one of the fav for promotion. Strange. http://www.oddschecker.com/football/englis...nship/promotion
