  1. Some musings. Krul is better than Harper that is clear already, Harper looks heavy to me. I'd give Krul a run in the side. We had a fair bit of possession in the second half and if actually had some kind of passable striker on the pitch would have won the game. Duff pulled a lot of things together and kept it tidy and took the goal very well. He isn't a winger anymore who is going to go past two men and cross (neither is Guti). We need a little bit more pace and coverage in the side, but Barton and Guthrie should be able to give us that bit of coverage and a little decent passing (Guti can't really pass the ball and one good move per game isn't really enough for an Argie Int.). I'm wondering now if we'd had a manager on board for a month or so and a tidy spend (7-8m) it might have been a doddle getting back up, cause WBA are one of the best sides in this league. We need a striker. One pacey midfielder who can go wide. Get some money back for Collo asap. MOM DUFF.
  2. Would love to see this image Fopper....Where is it?

  4. Collo will be gone any day now. He nearly went to Spain on a loan deal 2 weeks ago iirc.
  5. I think you've been on the sauce my friend. If Mike Ashley was looking to do his best then he would have appointed a manager even on a temporary basis, he would have worked with them to make a joint business and football decision on who should be sold. He would have booted fucking Llambsarse as far away from here as possible. He would in fact have actually taken an interest and done something, anything over the last 6 weeks. More importantly than any of the above though, Mike Ashley would have made sure we all knew what he was doing and why. The fact that Lambrusco is still around means MA has/and still is upto no good.
  6. Well quite, you don't want to be harassing a complete stranger with all that shit.
  7. I love how they can be so picky as to be reluctant to sell to the plethora of made up buyers. That is completely made up.
  8. Shouldn't NUSC have a Greenham Common type peace camp/watch outside mad Mike's place in Berkshire?? A collection of tents, megaphones, beer, perhaps a guitar band (Tom??). Fop can play at police watch, JJS in charge of all interactions with the media (long stories about wrestling women etc)..Perhaps an effigy of KK could be erected and draped with little lights....
  9. The rumors are the highest bid is 62m, so we're nearly there.
  10. What Im guessing, based on nothing more than what Ive heard and read about the bloke and the fact hes Ashleys mate is that hes provided the necessary credentials but with a bid that Ashey has already decided isnt enough, the announcement last week of this Fridays deadline followed by SP recommending an exisiting bid is accepted would flush out anyone who was sitting waiting, the likes of Shepherd may then make a revised offer rather than let Moat have it. What I dont understand is, Moat is also mates with FFS so why hasnt he joined forces with him to ensure they get control? And I dont think Ashley realises the seriousness of your last line because I tend to agree with you, the refusal of the last exisiting offer followed by taking the club off the market again would be disasterous as far as the fans are concerned. EDIT: More worryingly (and a Parkyesque theory) what if this is all a smokescreen and they play out a purchase yet really Ashley still has control of the club with Moat as a "geordie saviour" being the puppet? EDIT Again: Of course Im hoping this is all bullshit and tomorrow we see proof that Moat really does have the necessary and the bid is accepted. The way things are the most ludicrous thing will happen.
  11. The time for talking is over, it says something that there isn't one nutter in the toon that hasn't struck out at him...It says something about the pussyfooting relativism of modern society.
  12. Unfortunately it's not a gut, it's subcutaneous kevlar. Won't help. Bazooka? Head shot. Unfortunately that's not where he keeps his brain or anything of any great importance.

  17. West Brom signing Simon Cox on why he preferred Baggies over Newcastle SIMON Cox admits he could well have been lining up for Newcastle against Albion on Saturday had they not been in such turmoil. The striker, 22, who is still finding his feet at Albion following his £1.9 million move from Swindon, was coveted by Newcastle around the time the Baggies stepped up their interest in him. Albion beat Newcastle to the signature of Cox, announcing his arrival just a few days after Roberto Di Matteo had taken over as head coach. The two clubs meet for what is expected to be an emotionally-charged game following last Friday’s death of Sir Bobby Robson. Cox claims the summer-long uncertainty over Newcastle’s future – not least the lack of manager – convinced him to go elsewhere. “There was truth in that story but they had no manager so why would I go there?” Cox told the Birmingham Mail. “If they had been sorted and not in turmoil then it might have been a different story but they weren’t, they were in dire straits so I came to Albion and I moved on. “And I’m very happy to be here. “We need to make sure we go into that match with confidence and hopefully we’ll all be trying to be in the manager’s first XI for that game.” Cox made a point of stating he would not have joined Albion had their own managerial issue not been resolved. He has been impressed with Roberto Di Matteo so far. “He’s very quiet,” added Cox. “I was talking to a few people and they like what they see.
  18. Even buying a club like ours with blue sky potential and a fanatical core support and even if you factor in the global development of football as a product and brand, no investor will see any likely return for 5 years at least. That isn't the kind of investment people without other motives normally go for.
  19. Not in the sense that a 3rd party might negotiate a payback over longer terms ie 10 yrs. Good point that, it's not like a bank would demand it back overnight, is it? Banks always prefer longer terms so they can charge admin and interest.

  21. I know what John is saying but if the rumours about £100m upfront + £100m paid back in full to Ashley once we (hopefully) get back in the PL then the club is totally fucked. On one side a buyer would be in a terrible position as any extra TV money would be more than eaten up and bang goes the money needed to strengthen the squad. In any case the buyer would have to be radio rental to agree to that. On the other side the price is so high no one will buy so we're stuck with an owner who's clueless when it comes to running a football club. My decoding of the various rumours is that he has given 2 yrs after return to the PL to get his 100m back. You see how Mort was shall we say economical with the truth when he started babbling on about no debt? He should have said no external debt (even that is questionable). Personally around 40m is a fair price for the club if you have to pay the debt back to MA against that tight schedule (2 yrs). Being in the PL all combined is worth an extra 60m to us across the board inc sponsorship and all that stuff. Unless someone buys the club and has about 300m ready to sink into it, buying at the window price of 100m doesn't make any sense.
