I reckon we should all do the 12 pint challenge before the Plymouth game. I've never drunk more than 8 ever in one sitting. Then I swap to silly drinks (shorts, gay drinks etc..) There's been times I would've exceeded 12 pints in the past for definite. Coventry at home in 1995 opening day for one, but I was nearly asleep second half. I do these days - but I'm totally off lager anyway to be honest. I think it's years of drinking British/Australian shit, knowing what decent beer you get in Belgium and Germany. Been drinking a lot of Magners lately. Had a weekend break in Campagne (sp) in Normandy a couple of weeks ago....Terrific local cider. It's the kind of cider that just tastes good and you start thinking you can drink it all day....

The bit you quoted seems weird to me too, because if they're looking into the origins of the crisis, they may have missed the point of what disaster capitalism is about, which is exploiting disasters rather than necessarily creating them. It would be lunacy to suggest that there was any conspiracy to bring the western monetary system to the brink of collapse, but it's quite clear that after the event, people in the highest levels of power did their utmost to secure the wealth of the richest at the cost of the poorest. In her book Klein predicts that sort of behaviour and in the week the economic crisis hit hardest she blogged extensively about the government response... Free Market Ideology is Far from Finished Now is the Time to Resist Wall Street's Shock Doctrine The Bailout: Bush’s Final Pillage The Bailout Profiteers Real Change Depends on Stopping the Bailout Profiteers People need to wake up to the fact that when steering committees and trustees and whatnot meet, all they discuss is how quick they can steal all our money.

My thoughts too. He cannot believe what he's seeing with us top of the league and a reduced staff/wage bill. If we get promoted, we MUST be worth more, so, as a gambler, I reckon he's less likely to want to sell right now. This might be true if he ever actually intended to sell us. As Alex and PP have maintained (correctly it seems) this selling lark has been a cover to remove him from making any decisions and fuck off to Hawaii for 3 weeks. -

We'd get creamed in the prem with this side, no ifs or buts about it. That's why whoever (if indeed anyone does) gets control will have a huuuuuuge job trying to re-establish NUFC as a proper football side. Are you sitting comfortably, because I have a little story for you. 3 or 4 seasons back, a club called Sunderland got relegated with a measly 15 points. It looked like the end as the then chairman wanted out, they were hugely in debt and looked to be heading for oblivion. Then along came aload of paddies, put some dough in, made an inspired managerial appt at that time, and now they look as though they have a bright future with a class chairman, a rich owner that likes to be in the background, and are signing decent players, paying the wages which they never used to do, and paying big transfer fees which they never used to do. Does this not tell anyone how quickly things can change around ???? Many people on here seem to luxuriate in looking for things to be bad and go wrong - to rejoice in the bad things that are happening and may happen. I prefer to look at the many positives which is probably why I wake up in the morning looking forward to life unlike the hundreds of manic depressives on here. There is light at the end of the tunnel, and whilst there is light there, I am not going to be ground down by the doom mongers on here ??? !! And if we don't get any significant investment and/or Assley hangs on waiting for his £240m (price + debt + overdraft) what then? I tend to bake biscuits when I'm not sure what to do. -

It's about time he actually put us on the market. -
He's more of a danger to our players than the opp.

Processed meats I grant you are bad....But good quality rare red meat is good for you (not in vast cow crunching quantities mind). The sea is now riddled with atomic waste and a myriad of other pollutants....Stay away.

I believe there was an attempt on his life by a gunman at Washington Services. At least that's what he told Chris Hughton...... Bullets and water pistols flying all over. Someone dropped a cornetto.
