  1. The scale of the health problems caused by alcohol in England was laid bare in the report which showed 863,257 patients sought treatment for alcohol-related harm in 2007/08, an eight per cent increase from the previous year or an additional 176 admissions every day. The total includes more than 560,000 people who were admitted to hospital with conditions caused directly by their drinking. They had conditions which are mostly caused by long-term drinking such as liver cirrhosis or had overdosed on alcohol. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/health/healthne...n-one-year.html Got to say, since I've been living in Germany I've been drinking half what I used to drink in England.
  2. Tom's yer man to see. Used fivers and a plectrum signed by H from Steps. Tom can you add one to KD and take one off Stevie please.
  3. The second hit will come early 2010. This time let one or two more go down. Support lending banks and let the investment banks fight for themselves.
  4. I want to change my vote.
  5. I've just been sent a link to this article by a Liverpool fan. http://football365.com/john_nicholson/0,17...5638248,00.html Seriously, their problems are fuck all in comparison to ours yet the article makes it out to be the greatest catastrophe to ever befall a football club. sneil "After what Liverpool fans were saying when the Glazers first bought United (all the USA chants, all the mocking), and all their Munich chanting, I have no sympathy at all for them now. In fact, I look forward to their crushing debt sending them into administration, followed the loss of all their good players, and a David Ngog-led team experiencing a debilitating sequence of relegations and a ten-year stretch in League Two. Sod em."
  6. Why don't Govt print there own money and offer it at affordable rates in an ethical manner?
  7. I keep thinking of this and it's winding me the fuck up. Everything that remains good about this club relies on the fans. Not just the current extraordinary attendances and loyalty it shows. The £20m a season he still collects from ticket sales to real commited fans would have been drastically less if the stadium wasn't expanded a decade ago...an expansion that only got the go-ahead because of a five figure season ticket waiting list. Anyone got a ticket in the box and I'll stab the fat conceited prick in the eye next home game. The eye the moat of the soul.
  8. Nice cover, but yes one of his worst books the chimp.
  9. We are apes you chump. Hardly.
  10. Our bodies may be descended from Apes, but that's where it stops.
  11. Fry would make a good agony Aunt thinking about it...
  12. White House advisers say Fox News is not news The growing rift between the White House and Fox News has deepened after Rahm Emanuel, President Barack Obama's chief of staff, said the channel was "not a news organisation." http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/...s-not-news.html
  13. I'd play Milner on the right and Zogcryer on the left.
  14. Died of a broken heart. [/The Sun]
  15. A simple vote on a footy forum goes awry, what chance democracy?
  16. Mike Ashley has spoken publicly for the first time about retaining control of Newcastle United in the event of the club’s long-running takeover saga failing to reach fruition. Ashley, the billionaire sportswear retailer, has reduced his price from £100 million to £80 million in an attempt to force through a sale, but has doubts over the ability of Barry Moat, the leading contender to buy the Coca-Cola Championship club, to muster the “upfront” funding. A rival South African consortium has also been conducting due diligence. Should he remain, Ashley would retain the services of Chris Hughton, who has been acting as a caretaker manager. “Chris deserves a shot at the title — he has done a great job,” Ashley said. “But if I keep the club, I will have the final say on players.” The latter statement will cause dismay: Kevin Nolan, the midfield player, claimed after Saturday’s 1-0 defeat away to Nottingham Forest that Hughton’s request for new players had “fallen on deaf ears”.
  17. The main problem is that we have no pace in midfield and no wingers who can cross. So, we're not getting behind sides or catching them on breaks either.
  18. Basically she's left space for the imagination, everything straight sex doesn't have. :D
  19. OOooooo...look at you!!
