  1. this or Leon Best, or Ryan Taylor, or James Perch. Wait a moment. Why get excited about anybody when we know the sights are set so low. Parky says hit. I think he has everything to be a good signing in this case. Bit of a temper but that's about it. We've actually gone and signed a player we desperately needed a dynamic midflielder with a good engine and can pass. He can play a defensive role, has presence and can break up the opposition. There are mostly good things said about him in Holland. Have we actually signed him though? Doesn't seem to fit our target market of a mediocre player bought on the cheap..... There is no point in being down about every signing really. From what I've heard this is a good player and our lot need to be congratulated for that. Players nobody has heard of regualarly join PL clubs and a season later are seen as clever business, that shouldn't really be a point of criticism. We've signed some shit of late, but IMO this lad isn't one of them. I'm keeping my powder dry till the window closes and if we've been negligent I'll say so. This is one of the 3 players we really needed. IF we get a creative mf/forward and a decent striker, then for me all the minimum boxes will have been ticked.

  3. Quote from: LooneyToonArmy on Today at 03:50:28 AM asked about him on a Dutch forum......as to if he"s any good etc To answer your question: he's a brilliant player. Extremely physically strong and remarkably technically gifted for a man with the build of a wrestler. He's only got one problem: discipline. He's always got a moment in a game where he loses it. Definitely good enough for the premiership though. Fer is actually a potential candidate for replacing Tiote at Twente! Mind you Feyenoord are in dire financial straits, Twente is not. Twente can afford to hold out for a good offer for Tiote, Feyenoord probably can't for Fer. You can't really compare Fer and Tiote mind. Tiote is more of a physical midfielder, Fer is more the creative goalscoring type. Quote from: Sewelly on Yesterday at 10:35:16 PM To answer your question: he's a brilliant player. Definitely good enough for the premiership though. From a Twente fan, he also said this though: Well you've got to pay what Twente wants for him first! Our chairman has a bit of reputation in terms of transfer negotiations. You''ll have to pay full whack (6-8 million) and you have to pay it in one go rather than in annual installments (clubs have tried that with us at which our chairman said: Who do they think we are? A bank?")
  4. 3 *** on FM. Good engine. High on aggression.
  5. You only have to look at those goggly eyes and those fake beards and you know Manure are in the shit.
  6. How many groupies you had in your time? At one time?
  7. Give us a pm then with some links. Trancey dubstep? Is that not just UK funky? ; Fuck me this is getting technical.
  8. What kind of student union is it where you can't grope drunk young white bithces??
  9. The whole Luque thing reminds me of this: Depor: We think our player is worth 7.5m FFS: I'll give you 15m Luque agent: He's on 35k a week FFS: I'll pay him 70k
  10. Tbf to FFS at least he had some balls compared to the current encumbent. Easier when it's not your money like. You can't take it with you.
  11. Tbf to FFS at least he had some balls compared to the current encumbent. I don't know about Owen, I think the niggling inj had started at Liv hence Houlier not being able to guarantee him games iirc Baros was keeping him out the side, could be wrong. What happenned to him anyway? At the end of the day if you can you have to take a risk on players like Owen cause the upside is so big and he was a proven goalscorer (2J alarm goes off in house regarding his finishing prowess). Well we found out later the Souness only made one call reg Luque to his mate who still lived in Spain (Robinson?) and on the strength of it about 15m was spunked. Not all bad luck we did slip Dyer away for 6m. We've never had the creativity of late in midfield and I think we've all been moaning about that for at least 5 years now.
  12. That's why I pegged you as 'The quiet hand of Suburbia'.
  13. Looking at that you can see we made our worst signings when we had one scout and people were just ringing up FFS and Sourmess late at night with 'deals'.
  14. All 3 were knocking on 30 All on Rolls Royce wages All 3 inj prone Emre the mind boggles was the last what I'd term a creative mf we had. But a 1 good game in 5 merchant. in 05/06 emre was 24, luque was 27 and owen was 25 Well they played like 30 yr olds then. Owen defintiely had the inj overworked body of a 30yr old and so did Emre, who came to us after some ghastly injuries and Luques one big inj finished him. They were injury-prone and on silly money like, I'll give you that Still can't belive Emre was 24!! He looked laboured most games.

  16. I'll have to disagree there. I thought he was finished and it showed. When he beat a man he couldn't get away from him any more and generally resorted to winning fouls. Scored a corker against the mackems like. Yup. Souness and then Big Sam wasted about 8om between them.

  18. 05/06 Owen, Luque and Emre is what fucked us.
