There is no point in being down about every signing really. From what I've heard this is a good player and our lot need to be congratulated for that. Players nobody has heard of regualarly join PL clubs and a season later are seen as clever business, that shouldn't really be a point of criticism. We've signed some shit of late, but IMO this lad isn't one of them. I'm keeping my powder dry till the window closes and if we've been negligent I'll say so. This is one of the 3 players we really needed. IF we get a creative mf/forward and a decent striker, then for me all the minimum boxes will have been ticked.

I don't know about Owen, I think the niggling inj had started at Liv hence Houlier not being able to guarantee him games iirc Baros was keeping him out the side, could be wrong. At the end of the day if you can you have to take a risk on players like Owen cause the upside is so big and he was a proven goalscorer (2J alarm goes off in house regarding his finishing prowess).
