  1. The X fiasco was quite cheap compared to the big money and wages of Luque tbf.
  2. Essien v DeJong is getting tasty.
  3. It wasn't completetly their fault, it was a downward spiral of events that started before Ashley.
  4. Halls and Shep. 5. The other problem is Gerrard is 30 now and virtually irreplaceable. He will start to slow down/get inj as the months go by.
  6. I throw a second question to that. Are the almighty fuck ups by Ashleys unforgivable? Mainly on KK, comments from the tribunal, relegation, etc? Or, is there a point in time when we take stock and say "you know what? we are now in a better position than we were in before he bought the club". Could you go for a pint down the big market? Well, he'd deserved to be lamped for going there in the first place, but there is always some uneducated numpty wanting to be clever so I'd say probably no. Does he have a future at the club? I wouldnt rule it out but every time I think he has learned from his mistakes around the corner is another almighty fuck up. While they keep quiet and while decent players come in and CH is allowed to get on with it, I'm holding fire. With them you do always wonder if there is something round the corner waiting to jump up and bite.
  7. Yaya Sanogo (born 27 January 1993 in Massy) is a French football player of Ivorian descent currently playing for French club Auxerre in Ligue 1. He is a French youth international having represented his country at under-16 and under-17 level. Sanogo formerly served as captain of the latter. He plays as a striker and possesses a very tall and lanky frame, despite being only 17 years of age. Sanogo is known for his technical ability and goal-scoring with France's youth international teams having scored a team-high 18 goals in 18 games with the under-16 team during the 2008–09 season. 2008–2009 France U16 18 (18) 2009–2010 France U17 16 (9) 2010– France U19 3 (1) France may have fallen behind against Switzerland on Monday but they bounced back with a vengeance to win 3-1 and qualify for the semi-finals of the UEFA European Under-17 Championship as Group A runners-up. Yaya Sanogo's two goals gave them the lead at Sportpark Eschen-Mauren and the AJ Auxerre striker told UEFA.com the atmosphere within the camp could scarcely be better. "We are very strong now because we have had a lot of experience together over the past two years," he said. ""We live together at this tournament, we eat together and we laugh – we don't want this to stop" because our group is very cool and we like it. We want to stay until the end." Sanogo arrived in Liechtenstein as one of the players to watch having made his Ligue 1 debut for Auxerre earlier this month. His physical presence was impressive enough in France's opening two fixtures but it was his calmness of finish against Switzerland that caught the eye. Single-minded in front of goal he may be, but the 17-year-old thinks only of the collective off the field. "As a striker of course I prefer to score, but the team is more important," he said. "Scoring in a game like this is great, but is better to go to the semi-finals and the final. I'm always disappointed if I don't score but I am a team player. http://www.uefa.com/under17/news/newsid=1492231.html Parky buy rating 8/10
  8. Agree with most of that Park Life. Xabi was a big miss and replacing Mascherano with Poulson was a big downgrade. Fair reply good craic.
  9. The tides are changing as is always the way in football, the window of opp is closing for the likes of Liv, Everton, Villa and balance will again come to the force. Everton have IMO come to the end of the Moyes cycle, things are slowing down there and the fight they had for the last few seasons is beginning to dwindle, Everton IMO need a change of manager. Liverpool through no fault of their own are at the mercy fo the banks and fiananciers and now the twin towers of Mascherano and Alonso have gone and Gerrrard is moving into the final phase of his career and alrmight rebuilding is needed (but with no significant cash), in the wilderness for a decade unless a mega-bucks owner arrives. With Villa losing MON who had them playing well above their station on quick counters and industrious midfiels, the loss of Milner and Barry is hurting and I'm not sure Agbonlahor will make the next level. The field is opening up for Newcastle to begin to fill this void over the next 2/3 seasons.
  10. I they'd take a modest profit on their investment. Liverpool are not a Manchester United in terms of value and never will be, they're an astonishingly succesful club in an area where they're not even the best supported team. It never fails to astonish me how little you actually know about the areas you act as though you know everything about. The only evidence is that which can be seen and heard on a daily basis, and with that in mind, your comments are truly shit. Everton have a good local fan base but I'd guess at a 60/40 split in favour of LFC in the city region overall. Not that I think this is a good measure but at the lack of real facts it's one I'll use. Many a time when you go to an event here, be it musical or a party, there's usually some out of town singer who thinks a rendition of YNWA would be good finisher to the night (I'm sure you must have some who sing Blaydon Races in the same way) I can quite categorically say that there are more who join in than sit scowling. Also, it's mostly kids who wear team tops here and red outnumber blue there as well. LFC have a very large world wide fan base and it's to the detriment of the club that so many local fans have been unable to get tickets over the years. Most feel that the club should serve L postcode fans as a priority but the club say it's a first come, first served, as long as you have first registered and paid with one of the schemes in place. Many Scousers reject this and refuse to be put on hold for an hour or so waiting to apply for a ticket they'd just like to go up to the ticket office window and collect for themselves. Doesn't stop them supporting the club though Funny how Graeme Souness said on more than one occasion there are far more Everton fans on Merseyside than Liverpool, he'd have no reason to lie, I can believe it too when you look at your midweek gates. Everton's stay the same, yours go down generally speaking. Also speak to any Everton fan and in Liverpool they'll say it's 2:1 in their favour. Just looking at Wankfa's signings in 2008/2009 everyone of them an unmitigated disaster. 03.07.2008 Philipp Degen Dortmund Free 04.07.2008 Andrea Dossena Udinese £7,000,000 11.07.2008 Diego Cavalieri Palmeiras £3,500,000 24.07.2008 David N'Gog Paris St Germain £1,500,000 28.07.2008 Robbie Keane Tottenham £19,000,000 31.08.2008 Albert Riera Espanyol £8,000,000 Don't say N'Gog is a success, we both know he'll be a bit player at Rennes in 5 years time. ...and little Aquilani 20m.
  11. I they'd take a modest profit on their investment. Liverpool are not a Manchester United in terms of value and never will be, they're an astonishingly succesful club in an area where they're not even the best supported team. 600m would only get them their money back!!!11 I am also wondering if and when the bank take over it will be classed as ADMINISTRATION and the docking of 9 points.
  12. Probably buyers waiting in the wings for the bank to take over in Oct when they can get the club for 280m inststead of the 600m the greedy yanks are after.
  13. They bottled one with China about 40 years ago iirc, over a border dispute. Yup. But China after Tibet is still stealthily nicking/coveting bits of the Himalaya. The ideal place for missile silos. There is a real paranoia about China in India - imagine living next door to China who in a conventional war would flatten any army on earth.
  14. The nukes thing is casue they have China on one side and Pakistan on the other. And they've already had wars with both.
  15. Having to see poor people on holiday! Whatever next?!
  16. They've got the largest food sources on earth, sad thing is a lot of it gets exported to the West. True. But along with China, India has very little debt iirc and it might take another 20/30years, but they will get there regarding evening out the poverty a bit more across the country. The real problem is that vast swathes of it (it's the size of Europe) are still virtually agrarian/farm based micro-cultures. The commonwealth games stuff looks terrible though, probably don't take it as seriously as cricket.
  17. They've got more nukes than us and a moon programme. It's just that the country is literally so big it's impossible to provide for all.
  18. He has a kind of angry look about him when he plays well. If he looks calm he plays shit.
  19. Think the debt timetable matures next month.
