Those bloody haircuts haven't helped.

Not the only thing wrong with the football culture. Making young lads play on full size pitches so only the bugguns get pickes, hinders the development of skill etc..English football is a mess, but it's an entertaining mess iykwim.

Just wanted to say that he's doing a marvelous and Herculean job at Blackpool.

Just how you like them. why I think I'd get on with you Ironing. Agree about Davies. Was a bit unlucky at Blackburn as the club nosedived so quick. Needed a chance at a bigger club.

http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/newcastle-u...72703-27396958/? HATEM BEN ARFA today promised the Newcastle United faithful: "I'll be back" after the French international suffered a horror injury at Eastlands to wreck his season. Ben Arfa required oxygen before being stretchered off at Man City, but still found time to acknowledge both the Toon Army and the home fans who had applauded him from the field of play. The 23-year-old was wiped out by an uncompromising challenge from Dutch international Nigel de Jong with just three minutes played. That left Ben Arfa with a broken tibia and fibula, meaning that the Magpies will now be without their talisman until possibly March. Ben Arfa – who is on loan from Marseille – was due to undergo surgery today in Manchester after suffering the same injury fate as his Toon team-mate Alan Smith, who broke his leg in two places at Anfield in 2006 while at Manchester United. As much as I think he's an absolute dirty cunt, I can't understand their decision on that one.... Surely would have been more applicable for them to drop him after the challenge on Alonso in the WC? Or are they turning a blind eye to that one? The Dutch coaches have been onto him to calm down for over a year and at least since the WC.

Seems a very bizarre thing to do. Must say I am pleased that at long last someone is starting to do something about these ridiculous universal benefits. It's basic social engineering.

On the series wiki site it says that Hatton knew that Bleasdale was going to send him up but said he didnt mind as long as the actor was handsome

I've never been more sure of a player coming back than Bafra. He has the right spirit and single-mindedness.

Fight back "I had a phone call with Hatem while he was in the ambulance, and I felt I was more shocked than himself," Ouazine told L'Equipe. "He told me there is just one thing to do - fight back." http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11678_6426093,00.html

Taxi for Hatton.

Got me thinking about another Bleasdale comedy/drama with Robert Lindsay and Michael Palin called G.B.H. Would love to see that again. Another interesting take on the state of British politics back then, done in 91 though so at the end of the Thatcher years. Re: CT's usual tripe, you cant escape bureacracy in health care anyway, not if you want to be rational. All very high quality those.

Barton running across him flumoxed Ricky when you look at it again.

I can see you're really trying to negate the inj jinx.

Good post. I've noticed the reason it takes time to build a regularly winning side with 'that mentality' is the mix of players (which is a dark and unfathomable art) and the right kind of manager at THE RIGHT club at the RIGHT TIME. It is really an unimaginable mix onf ponderables and chance. When I read about Clough at Forest or the winning Ajax sides or anything written by Cruijif and the like, it comes across as a real journey of discoveries, in the sense that they often find the correct mix by accident, but are clever enought to see it when they find it. At Forest that team had a fair sprinkling of limited players like McGovern and that left footer up front who would have as many bad games as good ones, but Cloughts gift was he could find that blend. Mancini has really dissapointed me starting as he does effectively with 3 DM's (Yaya making runs forward is as ridiculoous as it gets). I can see them finishing in the top 3, but I don't think Mancini or his bunch of all stars have the team identity and spirit to win the league (Chelsea will win it this year and Manu are on the decline, mainly cause money is short). The problem Arsenal have is that Wenger never replaced Viera and also the insistance of playing with one striker who has to go wide to get the ball, also over passing and of course no Henry.
