Apart from the bid accepted by the board that Sonatine detailed a few posts above? H&G will fight in court, they haven't accepted it. They'll try, but doubt they'll be able to get it done before RBS pulls the plug and allows the sale to go through so they get their dosh back. Sadly, was hoping the twats would crash and burn. if that happens it's a -9. Lose-Lose for dippers.

Israel continues its merciless pounding of the defenceless.

Am I reading this right? They want to replace the two people who are actually trying to carry out the sale with Tom Hicks' son and the vice President of Hicks Holdings? I'm more and more convinced they've been planted by the Glazers.. Hicks & Gillett statement: "The Board has been presented with offers that we believe dramatically undervalue the Club." "..no change in our commitment to finding a buyer ..that reflects the very significant investment we've made." "We will however resist any attempt to sell the Club without due process or agreement by the owners." Hicks and Gillett also say they have "invested more than $270 million" and "the Club is one of the most profitable in the EPL". Tbh this is a very very tricky moment for Liverpool. Could really go wrong and I don't mean like Miami Vice wrong I mean like The Wire wrong.

Apparently they've just re-itereated they'll take legal action unless they get their own way.

There are no fukin bids. Liverpool's shambolic season hit a new low on Tuesday night as owners Tom Hicks and George Gillett blocked the sale of the club and attempted to remove two key members of their own board. Two new bids for the Anfield outfit were tabled earlier in the day, both of which have been described as 'excellent' by the Premier League club. Liverpool's board were due to meet to discuss the offers and give the green light for a change of ownership, with both prospective buyers promising to pay off the club's £282million debts. But in an astonishing move from American duo Hicks and Gillett, they turned down the chance of a sale and have now attempted to remove managing director Christian Purslowand commercial director Ian Ayre from the decision-making process. http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11661_6430498,00.html? :icon_lol:

Good to see Nasri showing some solidarity. Arsenal have lost 2 players to career threatening inj, no wonder Wenger keeps going on aboout it. Once again, wenger had fuck all to say about gallas. Its laughable to even associate wenger in any way as a voice of reason. I'd also rather have somebody like Ferguson who'd be shreiking and yelling at anybody who'll listen than a fucking manager like ours who appears quietly disappointed. And I'd sack that cunt calderwood straightaway. Calderwoods comments are beyond belief. What the fuck is he thinking - Oh here's my chance to remind the world I'm a hard man? Fuck off.

Ben Arfa said: "I would like to thank all the Newcastle fans from the bottom of my heart for their fantastic messages of support and encouragement. "The club are sending lots of messages through to me. I'm told they are arriving in their hundreds and that's really overwhelming. It's cheered me up no end and makes me feel really humble and honoured that the fans are showing such support for me. "All I can say is a huge thank you to each and every one of them and I will relish the day that I'm able to pull on a black and white shirt again."

Cancelled all barbecues in solidarity apparently.

Strange thing is, I don't remember so many broken legs when they kicked fucking lumps out of each other in the 70's, must be that they're faster and fitter now and the collision impact is greater, the pitches are different an all. That said, as it's REALLY difficult to prove "intent" for the De Jongs of the world, if it was up to me, any player who injures another in a tackle should be suspended for the same length of time that the other player is out. I accept that'd get some genuine "accidents" involved but it'd soon cut ot the cynical/scythes, elbows and patented Gerrard two feet off the deck lunge. Anyone who knocks someone over with their car didn't mean to do it (usually) but that doesn't stop punishment if warranted. Should be a limit of say 3 incidents per side, but the cap should be able to call for vid evidence for these things or goaline clearances. The game is in the dark ages and I tell you it is done on purpose. The are shit scared that the poor qualith of ref and poor nature of our fooball culture will be open to discussion and ciiticism. The players are fitter and more athletic these days with seious amounts of muscle ratio, this makes them much more dangerous in the tackle. The nature of the hi tech boots and grippy surfaces we have these days also restrics leg movement/compensation on impact.

Why did it have to be him ffs?!

Agreed, he's a goodun.

I'm also certain the story of Newcastle and Afra has just begun. Keep believing Adam. All magical systems are fully aligned.

Could have done with a bit more aggro from Hughton as well.

Don't we quite frequently arrest people here under prevention of terrorism laws? Like last month before the pope's visit for instance? Have you got any examples of terrorists being released as a result of smart arse lawyers? Genuinely interested. Think in the UK 90% are released without charge and another 5-6% were charged with 'other' offences rather than under terrorism laws. Pitiful really. Strorming into houses in the muslim community at night etc doesn't do anybody any favours bar promote anti-state feelings imo. Better safe than sorry style reply coming up.**
