Dear me. What a load of shite that is. Is it David fucking Craig that's responsible for that? Happy New Year Sorry? Leazes' open textured speculation that there's a buy out in January. What the fuck is that? Open textured language. ie vague and capable of having various meanings. So if he's wrong you can't actually say he's wrong. That's made up that is...What is it in French?

Why would any decent manager join a club that would do something like this to a bloke like Hughton? In particular, why would they leave a steady job where they have a squad that's better than ours. We're looking at out-of-work, malleable managers who won't rock the boat come the transfer window. We're not looking at anyone who is any good. Pretty much.

Someone mentioned Cruyff in the pub before.

It probably is Pardew, it's just the way things are with this lot. -

Interesting post from NO This is obviously not a football decision, these people know nothing about football. Reckon this is just about the concept described in their pre-season statement. My hunch is Ashley feels Hughton is too close to senior players who long term he wants to get off the books – Nolan, Barton, Colo etc. and replace with younger, cheaper players. Also he would have been mightily miffed that Hughton wanted an outside appointment as assistant and let everyone know. My guess is he would have wanted Beardsley, who has been very supportive of the regime, in that role to eventually take over in future – again fitting the “concept”. This again shows a complete lack of football knowledge regarding the nature of the manager/assistant relationship. Pardew is ambitious and desperate enough to agree to all this. He fits the bill. And I wonder if that’s why his previous assistant Wally Downes has just taken the job at West ham. He can also be passed off as “experienced” by Ashley and Lambias. Having said that, the players have done Chris no favors with some of their recent performances, they’ve given the board the excuse they’ve been waiting for.

From a position of strength I really am entertaining the idea that relegation is a possibility. It's almost like history repeating itself in different circumstances. Don't be surprised by June if we've had three managers in charge this season. The team spirit will be totally fucked, and that was a real strength of ours, particularly if they don't like the new managerd. Come on Stevie hold it together. Let's see who the replacement is first . I agree with everyone in here that CH had a big heart and did a good job, but I also had the feeling it might not be enough.

I'm straight down the bookies if he is announced. I put a tenner on him just after Hughton was sacked and intend to put the winnings on us to go down if I'm correct.

No doubts he'll get another good job in time.

Experienced PL manager him like. He'd take it in a shot but I can't see it being offered to him. I'm genuinely worried about the replacement. Master of Understatement you like Parky -

Cheers. Don't believe anything in the media which says anything other than the fans were 100% behind Hughton and are disgusted by this*. They love to misrespresent our fans as much as they love to try and make City look like cunts mate. * Except Parky, but he doesn't count. Is Parky having a tin bath? I feel like demanding a written retraction and apology. I didn't sack him.

Sacking him after Jan would have been too late if they wanted a change as is clear they do.

He was doing an alright job under difficult circumstances (some of the performances have been dreadful, with players not trying/playing with fear). I couldn't see another win till Jan.

I think you're completely wrong. Especially since I don't think O'Neill would touch us with a shitty stick. Maybe I should have checked the vote. CH wasn't perfect (who is) but I fail to see us getting anyone as good, let alone better. I hope there is a plan behind this. I'ms sure I read somewhere MON had a meeting with Mashley.

Think he's done a good job under very difficult circumstances, but deep down I never really rated him. In saying that I did marvel at some of the away performances and it is clear CH was more adept at setting a side up to defend and more often than not he has been too defensive, especially at home where we let sides come and dictate the pace. I'm guessing the poor home form against mediocre sides has finally cost him his job. I know emotions are high on here, but CH isn't really upto it at this level tactically and charismatically. He is quiet get on with it type and in the PL that just isn't enough. Players these days need to have a bit of fear of a boss and bit of respect for the tactics, I don't think the players really looked upto him and were playinbg along most of the time for an easy ride. Although I have a slight hatred for him MON will do the business. If you're going to change managers this actually is the best time, with a run of difficult games coming up and the transfer window about to open. I voted agree.

Whether we stay up or not will come down to how Bafra plays when he gets back. Can turn any match.

At the start of the season the players were keenly aware that survival is paramount and most games they played like it (half a yard quicker, more movement etc), I just wonder if some of the 'surprise' results has dulled their primal fear. The loss of key players, some unecessary defensive postures at the start of games (especially at home) and Guttierez finally showing his unhappiness is making for a very dangerous brew. If CH is the man, then this period coming up is the time to show it.
