  1. They've always seemed to have about 20 midfielders who are the same at that club since I can remember. Think they tried to cook it up a bit with Zakora, but him being absolutely shit has put them off the 'type'.
  2. As his forehead gets bigger he tends to keel forward more, hence nulliyfying his passing due to an inability to look up.
  3. It's basically what me and Stevie said on page one and two.
  4. Spurs have been pretty average this season apart from VDV. He has single handedly carried this side which hasn't handled all the extra games well. The strikers are pretty poop, Lennon can't cross and Bale's ears are recognised now as a major handicap in world football, apart from when he starts to skim/fly as he picks up speed. Keep VDV in check and the bannanas are ours.
  5. Oh no!!! Pandora's box!111
  6. Well done you've caught up with the joke I made 3 pages back.
  7. No Chez. THIS is THE BOOK. Get it. P.
  8. Cats are ace for children to have around.
  9. I suggest it, but it's your call as a mother. There is some risk either way. I think there are no absolutes with this, just a question of taking time out with your partner and weighing up the pro's and con's. Parky jnr has the minimum. If you are going for full spectrum imm then do it in shots spread out over a period rather than close together. Keep clear of fluoride. It's too late for the likes of us but with a clean slate it's worth doing. Don't regulate play, especially creative play. Yeah, I remember you saying this now. The bairn has had all of his recommended jabs but last year I decided against letting him have the swine flu vaccine. I did a lot of reading but the fact that I felt like it had been rushed through the system and approved almost on the back of the media hype, mixed with a strong gut-feeling against it meant that declined the invitation from the surgery for him to go and get it. Inevitably now that it's all flared up in the media again I'm questioning my decision. He's poorly at the moment and last night peaked with a temp of over 39 degrees, hacking cough etc and I've had a horrible couple of days with him being ill. I've just tried to keep my rational head on and treat him with Calpol and fluids and hope it's enough. It's heart-wrenching to see him suffer and wonder if I could have made a wrong decision somewhere down the line. It was rushed through, I think that was revealed in the media a bit later on when everyone calmed down from the hype. Anyway the thousands of deaths predicted never materialised thank god. Chez will know more but my feeling is that Govt are often the worst at dealing with health crisis moments and just do stuff to cover their arses rather than the correct interventions. 39 is high. I remember a couple of years ago Hannah had 40 and we were shitting it, but 3/4 days and she was a right as rain. Children have amazing powers of survival and recovery. I hear what you're saying, there is a lot of pressure about correct behaviour and procedures with regard to a childs health in the media and from other mothers and so on...But I'd take a mother intuition over anything on this planet.
  10. Quite a defensive response tho eh? Noooo not at all, maybe a proud response though. My son is here laughing as I typed it! Only joking mate. It's a great feeling having pride in your children. May the force be with you and your own.

  14. http://www.amazon.com/Magical-Child-Joseph...e/dp/0452267897 Product Description Right from the instant of birth, says Joseph Pearce, the human child has only one concern--to learn all that there is to learn about the world. But in the West we tend to thwart this concern from the very start. Available once again, Magical Child shows how to restore this amazing capacity for creative intelligence that is innate in every human. A very important book, especially for those with children or expecting them. In a very reasoned manner reflecting a great deal of knowledge and research, Pearce discusses the phases every child goes through as it matures. He describes it as a succession of matrices, beginning with the womb-matrix, then the mother-matrix, the earth-matrix and so on. What it boils down to is the there is a time for everything, and we need to support the child's natural unfolding as much as we can. This means not 'abandoning' the infant in the crib, not pushing the pre-schooler too learn to read (ultimately a harmful thing), limiting television viewing and encouraging fantasy and play. There seems to be so much misunderstanding and ignorance with regard to children these days, from tv overload to little league pressure to accelerated academic preparation--all harmful activities because they block a child's healthy development. Wake up everybody! In the final chapters, Pearce goes beyond childhood to explore the possibilities of the human mind per se and give us a glimpse of what lies beyond the self-imposed limits of our reality. A deeply significant work. I also recommend Betty Staley's Between Form and Freedom for a look at what awaits in the adolescent years.
  15. No because it has no baring on where Tottenham get the money from. Other clubs have overseas holding operations, and it's completely within the laws of the land and basically has fuck all to do with the revival in Tottenham Hotspur's financial muscle (they were the richest club in the country partly due to a share issue late 80's before you were born). You didn't have a point as others have mentioned, that is my point. Jack Walker did the same with Blackburn Rovers, by putting the holding company as well as all his other wealth in Jersey because it's a tax haven when you were still feeling uncomfortable on bike stabilisers. Regarding you though, you don't have the basic football knowledge for me to debate things with without looking down my nose at you. There are kids your age who are very knowledgable who I talk to with on a level, but you're going to be to this board what Wayne Quinn was when we signed him to Newcastle United. "Players should be attracted to come and play for Tottenham for the chance to be part of something exciting; for a chance to help the club build a reputation as one of elite teams in England and Europe and not for the amount of money on offer. The current wage structure has allowed the club to sign and keep some important players such as Gareth Bale and Luka Modric who have recently put pen to paper on long term deals at the club. Club chairman Daniel Levy operates a tight wage budget at Spurs with the top earners at the club earning around £60,000 a week. Tottenham have shown that they are unwilling to compromise their wage model when the club weren’t prepared to match former Chelsea player Joe Cole’s wage demands. Recent signing William Gallas also had to take a pay cut in order to join Spurs which shows the club’s dedication to their existing wage plan. Tottenham’s financial prudence is something the club can pride themselves on. In today’s climate of ridiculous transfer fees and wages funded by billionaire backers, it is refreshing that clubs like Tottenham and Arsenal can produce a high quality of football while operating within their own means. This financial prudence will stand Tottenham in good stead once UEFA’s new guidelines come into place regarding club finances."
  16. I've always maintained we have the potential to have the same turnover as Liverpool (have now) if not more. Around 180m.
  17. Why not just say you don't have a clue? Would be better than saying something as pathetic as that. It's nothing to do with tax dodging. From 1995 to 2008 Newcastle were generating significantly more money than Tottenham, we had better sponsorship deals, made more money from merchandising, our corporate operation was as good as theirs, saying something considering they're based in London, and our ticket revenues were slightly higher. Generally we'd generate about £20m-£30m more than them, but Daniel Levy's business plan has worked and they're now in a position where their revenue is £30m more than ours despite 15,000 fewer fans through the gates. The first part of his business plan was implementing a wage ceiling, Tottenham were a mid table team and he knew spending £60,000 a week on players was unsustainable for a club of their stature at that time, he got it right at the third time of asking manager wise, and Tottenham started signing young good players. Comolli played his part even though he was sacked, many of the good players they have were his doing, but it's largely the fact that Levy is an amazing businessman. When Tottenham got that sponsorship deal with Mansion House it was £9m a season, that was more a year at the time than AC Milan, Bayern, Arsenal and Juventus were getting in. It's astonishing how he pulled it off, a shit mediocre club like them and he has almost single handedly increased their profile. Even when they were 18th and Ramos got sacked, the financial infrastructure of the club was already in place better than it ever has been before. So it's all down to Levy, fair play to him, he's a jew, and jews know how to manage and make money. Maybe Ashley should go head hunting in Tel Aviv. Wage control + good young purchases + big money sales + 30m from CL. I hope LM doesn't see this, but it's what we were doing from 2001 to 2004 before FFS lost his marbles with the wage bill. Yup.

  20. You don't have enough info to get to the corner shop and back safely. Saying something is going on is hardly a prediction.
