Babies to be given anti-obesity drugs in womb..
Park Life replied to Park Life's topic in General Chat
"Patients at Liverpool Women's Hospital will be given the drug to reduce the food supply to their unborn babies" You're alright with that are you? Without having looked at the study myself, the IRB must have approved it so, yes, I'll defer to their judgement of the scientific rationale and potential clinical benefit. Has Chez hacked your account? So, sniffer is happy with babies in the womb having their food consumption tampered with. [/braveNewWorld] -

This is the strangest of things tho. That times article suggests ALL the kids were given hair sample tests... YET here we are in the paper NOW and they are suggesting the KIDS MIGHT HAVE BEEN DRUGGED.. 13th May 2011 "Asked if the twins had been drugged, she said on BBC Radio 4's Woman's Hour today: 'On the night I just remember the twins lying in the cot and not moving - with lights going on and people moving around. 'There was a lot of noise and they just didn't move and I remember several times checking for chest movements. I did feel it was a bit strange that they were not moving let alone waking up. New outfit: Kate McCann writes that she admired Madeleine in her new pink outfit - but fears someone else did too New outfit: Kate McCann writes that she admired Madeleine in her new pink outfit - but fears someone else did too 'I did consider with Madeleine perhaps she had been given something too.' Madeleine disappeared from her bed on May 3, 2007, during a family holiday in the Algarve, and has not been seen since. The mother added the morning before Maddie vanished she had been crying and complained that she had not slept." Babies given anti-obesity drugs in the womb 7:00AM BST 11 May 2011 One hundred obese mums-to-be will be given Metformin as part of a three-year study to tackle obesity rates and reduce the number of difficult births. Patients at Liverpool Women's Hospital will be given the drug to reduce the food supply to their unborn babies, although it will not help the mums themselves to lose weight. Leading the trial, senior lecturer in obstetrics, Dr Andrew Weeks, said: "It is about trying to improve outcomes in pregnancy for women who are overweight. "The problem is babies tend to be larger and many of the downsides of being overweight during pregnancy relate to the birth." Metformin reduces blood sugar levels which are passed onto babies in the womb, and is already regularly used to treat diabetic mums-to-be, as well as diabetics in general. During the study, half of the patients will take Metformin pills up to three times a day from 12 weeks gestation, while the other half will be given placebo drugs. Doctors hope it will prevent the birth of oversized babies, thereby reducing the need for caesarean sections. Instances of pre-eclampsia, the potentially fatal complication in pregnancy common to overweight mothers, are also hoped to be reduced. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/health/healthne...n-the-womb.html Seems a bit overkill to me like.

Threaten America (IMF) suddenly the leader is in all sorts of bother.

It was a popular theory at the time iirc. I dunno I still sense some kind of misadventure here. Having a child of my own is what makes me irrational/angry when looking at things like this cause it is so unnecessary.

There's a hitch in the sedative theory however: Forensic tests on the brother and sister of Madeleine McCann have shown that neither was sedated, it was claimed yesterday. Portuguese newspapers have repeatedly alleged that hair samples from Kate and Gerry McCann’s children show that the couple sedated the two-year-old twins, Sean and Amelie, and Madeleine on the night that she disappeared. But it is understood that the couple have commissioned their own tests, which found no traces of sedatives in hair samples from Sean and Amelie. A source close to the couple said: “Any legal team worth their salt would have these kinds of tests done. No evidence of sedatives were found in the twins’ systems.” The Times

Wasn't the dog very excited sniffing around the hire car or summat? Can't remember it all now. Yes, the same dogs that are shit hot when it comes to sniffing out dead bodys. Didn't Parky post something a while back where the use of the dogs had been doubted due to a previous case, but then new evidence showed the dogs had been right all along on that particular case? You would think she'd have enough money after getting that biggest loser gig. Yeah I had a mega-Mcann lynching thread on here last year and the dogs thing was in it I think. You have fine memory Sir!

IMF Says US Must Raise All Taxes, Cut All Entitlements By 35% To Contain Future Budget Tyler Durden's picture Submitted by Tyler Durden on 04/04/2011 10:35 -0400 Baseline Scenario International Monetary Fund In what is either a delayed April Fool's report, or its latest exercise in rhetoric the IMF asks the humorous question: "An Analysis of U.S. Fiscal and Generational Imbalances: Who Will Pay and How?" The obvious answer is naturally the Fed. The unobvious answer, according to the IMF, is the impossible: a slashing all of USSA's entitlement benefits by a whopping 35% combined with a hike in all tax rates. From the IMF: "This paper updates existing measures of the U.S. fiscal gap to include federal laws up to and including the mid-December 2010 federal fiscal stimulus. It then applies the methodology of generational accounting to establish how the burden of adjustment required to attain fiscal sustainability is shared across generations. We find that the U.S. fiscal and generational imbalances are large under plausible parametric assumptions, and, while not much affected by the financial crisis, they have not improved much by the passing of the Final Healthcare Legislation.

cheers!...spent loads of time scouring the net for the best deal, spent just under $2K. would have been more if i bought in canada which is why i went with a US seller, luckily i live 5 min from the border and had it delivered to a pick up in washington, went down to get some gas and picked it up, duty free so to speak. edit....was feeling nervous about buying online, but the stone is nicer than anything i saw in person better cut quality and clarity as well, may have been due to choosing an oval cut instead of a round cut. oval looks bigger than a round of the same weight. I've dispatched the motherfucker. Stop calling me. ....huh? Sorry posted without reading thread. As you were.
