I was thinking the other day of changing it to average. The one game he hasnt started, we've lost. Looks suited to how Pardew wants us to play, provided an excellent outlet away at Stoke and competed well for the ball in defence and was fairly good going forward. In short, he's decent enough to play in a high performing side so even if he is average, i dont see why he should be singled out. I quite like the idea of one thread per player and the title edited ever so often to reflect the latest view on the player. Singled out is rather strong...Would have thought you would have understood the tongue-in-cheek nature of the usage of the world 'crap'. Many thought he was for a number or weeks. Think he's done alright in a couple of games fwiw...But does that merit the revisionism on the scale of the euro bailout package? We all want him to do well.

Think it don't matter what our results are against the top 2 (they will beat more or less everyone this year). What will make or break our season given that our results against average and weak sides continues is our results against Arsenal, Liv and Spurs...Those games for me are the key indicators.

I knew that it would be summik like that. That's a goal every 68mins [/HF] fuck me. That is a mental record in modern football. He's not Andy Cole, he's not Shearer or Ferdinand, but he's got a bit of absolutely everything you need to be a top striker. He's strong, he's quite mobile, his movement is very good, he's got a trick, he's tall and decent in the air, he can strike a ball, and to me he seems a very humble bloke who is happy playing for us. He could just be one of our best ever buys this bloke, certainly considering what we've paid for him pennies allegedly. I've noted that he's completely instinctive and unfazed in front of goal and just takes chances without too much faffing around. Very good sign.

Ba is the best minutes per goal in PL history fella.

I suspect it won't be any of the usual suspects rather fresh 'unearthings'...

Think a few key things have gone our way, things as supporters who have been up against it in recent seasons we've been naturally wary to embrace too quickly. Collo, Guti, Cabaye and Tiote are genuine class and the first two have really come good. Looking at those players from the outside I imagine many covetous eyes are currently looking our way. Krul is a much better keeper than any of dreamt he might be a couple of years ago and I think he will be a permanent fix in the Dutch side over the next 2/3 years. He is a natural shot stopper and much better around his zone of influence than Given. Out of nowhere Saylor is becoming more consistant (with the odd rick which he will always have). First Best (a championship striker in all but name) scoring key goals and now Ba (who looks like a decent finisher but also has displayed intelligence) looking like defences are going to have to take him really seriously. Things have gelled and it happens like this in football sometimes (could it be cause Pards has stuck to more or less the same side?). Many of us really underrated Pards inc me. It might be that it just is (again luckily) just the right set of circumstances and a club like ours that has fired him up and is bringing out the best in him. For now it's an adventure and we just have to 'go with it'...

Crouch has been rubbish for a year or two. TBF To the lanky twat, he hasnt played on a regular basis to get any form going though has he? Harry is quite savvy in getting rid of players when they start to turn.
