  1. http://the-scientist...ot-exaggerated/ All the planets are warming.
  2. Yeah they can all play there, but looks to me like Santon has that bit of pace.
  3. Could stay with 442 and put Santon/Raylor as the RM. Will be an interesting match that's for sure. Everton are very beatable right now.
  4. Don't think we'll know what's going on till the end of Jan. That is when the table will be real and also we'll be able to evaluate the transfer window. For now we can just enjoy it whether it's luck or otherwise...Bit of both imo. We've actually got some decent players putting in performances.
  5. I've been surprised at the prediction thread. It seems as though half this forum are scizophrenic. "Held down by your northern soul, you made a break for the coast a whirlwind sucked up all those silly girls- who gave us black dreams and now you're caught in NYC with the rain coming down.. It's just a Hollywood summer.. before the dark winter comes.. Took your friends to dinner and you said a lot without meaning anything held down by your northern soul.
  6. Paid big bucks for Pastore.
  7. I disagree, I believe we'll get back in at the end of this season. We're playing better football than we have for a while, and once we start capitalising on the chances created (our finishing has been shite) we'll win the matches we dominate instead of losing like against Stoke. We've hit the bar or post 10 times this season, top of the league for that anyway. Being Liv you should really get goals for that I reckon.
  8. Pretty much. Though it is fair to say the club seems to be on a steadier financial footing.
  9. Think they put a couple of milion in didn't they?
  10. I have an illness. Someone makes a vague reference to numbers and I MUST fact check.... LFC net spend (rounded)... 11/12 - £30m 10/11 - £24m 09/10 - £5m profit 08/09 - £10m 07/08 - £2.5m 06/07 - £37m Just short of £100m over 6 years. But no Masch or Torres or that other midfielder.
  11. And Yachting Monthly I'd write that one so it would be pukka.
  12. Everyone re-writing history after 10 games...Welcome to North Korea.
  13. Just waiting for the cutting analysis from the M&S instore mag.
  14. DEADMAN, it's not immigrants, it's British citizens. I was mocking right wing reactionaries. Let that be a lesson to you Fish.
  15. Brilliant work! Catchy and deep. Can't wait to see more. 17 September 2011 | by Marek P (United States) – See all my reviews The cast looks like it connects very well. Story as of episode 1 is very interesting, dark, and open to many different ways to keep it going. There is one main story throughout the episode, but with many side stories that seem to start of a little slowly. It gets you wondering and trying to connect the dots every minute of the show. It's like the TV series "Life", but without the funny part and in with good drama. To be more specific it reminds me a little bit of Bourne Trilogy but twisted a little bit. Much recommended to anyone between 18-30 years of age or anyone who likes to watch media about CIA work. Not a lot of action just yet, but it is cooking up to be a good one." I found the first 3 ep's really tense and the lead character is really ambivalent and deep and the flashback structure erodes against the truth of the real time narrative. 8/10 P
  16. I'd sign him on the basis he could play anywhere down the left. Great cover and would maybe start at LB. Perhaps he's better as a LW / LM but with the way Jonas helps out the full-back it wouldn't be a problem and they could interchange. Not sure if he's played wide right although playing 'wrong-footed' players on the wings is all the rage now. Started his career in LM but is equally adept at LB or CM iirc. Ajax youth product knows how a football works.
  17. Am sticking with my theory about Obertan's main problem. You still peddling this 'lucky bastard' line? Am genuinely annoyed with you for not giving Pardew credit for the job he has done, the fat bastard might have been lucky appointing him, he might have known what he was doing, we'll never know. Whatever, it doesnt matter, Pards has done a cracking job and there is no way you can call our start to this season lucky. Unless you're Happy Face and you like pulling statistics oot your hoop for the sake of argument. Where have I not given or avoided giving Pardew credit? He's been fantastic with what he's had to work with. You need to distinguish between two distinct facets within the club. The owners/board and the manager/coaching staff. We don't have enough players, Pardew knows this, he knew it in the summer, the fans know it, and what he's done so far with the players at his disposal is like Jesus sorting 5,000 out with 5 loaves of bread and 2 fish. If he'd have done half as well, with what he's had to play with he'd have deserved praise. Where the luck has come in, has been the fact for once in our existence we've had no injuries, this is like new ground for Newcastle, and I say Ashley is specifically lucky, because quite clearly the squad is not big enough and it's his and Llambias' fault that we'll be fucking around with the likes of Shane Ferguson, and putting Raylor right wing should just one more of our wide men get injured. There is absolutely no depth in any part of our squad, one injury to a key player and we're massively depleted. No other team in the top 7 can say the same, and it only need two or three more players, and we've got the money to do it, to have a reasonable squad. Aye, that's how I see it like. Maintaining where we are (not necessarily 3rd as that's not realistic but competing for a top 7 spot) is all about whether or not Pardew can convince Ashley to invest a little bit in January. The worry is he might think we're doing so well there's no need. Fair enough, relegation isn't even a remote possibility (even a terrible run averaging less than a point a game and we'd still probably be alright) but not building on what Pardew, the coaches and the players have achieved so far would be a massive opportunity missed. Definitely. What does fuck me off about Pardew is when he says hopefully we'll do enough to convince Mike to invest further. Mike should be fucking investing further, with the £51m we've raked in since fucking January. He wouldn't need to even spend all that. It fucks me off that people still don't see the big picture. If Stevie Taylor or Coloccini, get injured we're relying on fucking WILLIAMSON!!!! He's a clown, I still have sleepless nights about how weak he was for that goal against Blackburn at home last year. We need AT LEAST one centre half, one back up wide man ideally who can play on both sides (Ben Arfa is nee good out left), and 100% definitely need a striker. 4 players £25m spent max = without any question we have firmly cemented our place as the 6th or 7th best side in this country, far, far away from our so called challengers Villa and Everton. This is the frustration cause we're literally 2/3 decent players away from a good side/squad. I called the CD thing a few weeks ago and tbf I think most of us are aware that Will isn't ideal first cover. Have been surprised by how 'bulked up' and effective guthrie was. Oh aye, all hail 'Prescient Parky' finally getting onside in November. Mate you need to watch that passive aggresive thing.

  19. urgh. He was very very good on Monday though. Re : injuries; the current team are doing more running and covering more ground than any team in the Prem, injuries and knocks will catch up soon enough unfortunately. Shame to lose Obertan, I think his pace is his biggest asset and he'll be a loss away from home. I'm not sure he's good enough to properly break down teams at SJP, where the opposition will come to play on the counter. Marveaux and Ben Arfa have shown they maybe have more to them regarding unlocking a defence in those situations. Let me help you out here. Everton at home is a great chance to see what one of those two can do. The inj to Obi might prove 'lucky; for 'lucky' Pards. Think we would have won either way.
