Alan Pardew - Poltroon sacked by a forrin team
Park Life replied to Kid Dynamite's topic in Newcastle Forum
Although HTT has had a few brushes with the men in white coats of late...He just rattled off a Pards post with a few good talking points in it IMO. HTT Replacing Pardew « Reply #17180 on: Today at 08:11:23 PM » "I'll get stick for this but I don't give a fuck. If we are to move on as a team we need a better tactician and someone who is more confident in his players than Pardew who lacks tactical nous even in basic terms and doesn't seem to trust his players like he should, especially the likes of Ben Arfa. Time and time again we are being undone by negative tactics or just plain and simple poor tactics and also being hampered by weird or wrong team selections. How the likes of Taylor get a game at right wing over Ben Arfa for example defies belief. How someone could play Joey Barton at left-wing also defies belief. These are constant fuck-ups by Pardew regarding team-selection and tactics and its costing usa lot. In the year or so he's been in charge our football hasn't really changed despite the quality of our players improving massively in key areas and for me being 6th under Pardew feels similar to the year we finished 7th under Roeder. You get the sense (well I do) that it is in spite of rather than because of. Pardew arguably has the best set of players in terms of the first-team we've had since Sir Bobby's days yet wek in week out we play poor football in the main with the odd cameo 10-20 minute spell, most notably against Fulham (apparently), Man Utd at home and Spurs. In general though we've been poor and have had to relie on good defending, goalkeeping heroics and the goals of Ba. Of course all teams have to rely on X and X at times but the better sides rely less on individuals than the team itself and I feel under Pardew unless Ba isn't scoring for example or Colo isn't emperious at the back we are neither here nor there and will always struggle because tactically he's useless in short as he's shown. I strongly believe under a better tactician and a more positive manager we'd easily be sat in fourth right now and most certainly wouldn't be out of the FA Cup. We went to Brighton with a game plan not to lose and that's detrimental to the players we have who need to be let off the leash if you like, especially players like Ben Arfa who seems shit scared to make a mistake and so plays or tries to play this conservative kind of game which just isn't him and actually makes him look turbo shit as was evidenced today. With 20 minutes to go at home to QPR Pardew instructs the side tactically and selection wise (via his subs) to kill the game. At home? To QPR? From a winning position? He did likewise away to Fulham and was embarrassingly handed his arse tactically by Jol. And speaking of the Dutchman, it pains me to see that Fulham, QPR and the mackems to name three clubs have better in the dugout than we do. Its clear as day that these days the manager of Newcastle has two roles, to manage players and to coach and while Pardwew has built on what was an already strong team spirit and seems a good motivator, he brings little in terms of tactics and coaching. We play poor football despite having very good footballers. If we are to improve as a team, bearing in mind we will always recruit good players under Carr et al, we need to improve the coaching and tactics and that means replacing Pardew. The scouts seem to perfer up and coming talent from abroad, I suggest the likes of Carr start looking at coaches from that context too if we are to keep improving. We are in a better position in the table thus far under Pardew than we were under Hughton but footballing wise we have not improved and nor has our tactics, if anything Hughton's tactics were better. We seemed to have more of a game plan. It is no coincidence though that Pardew has better players at his disposal. A better manager than him will only improve us further. Stcikm with him and nights like tonight will become more and more common as eventually turned out at West Ham, Charlton et al. His track record suggests he doesn't have enough in his locker to ever do something special as a manager and we have the nucleus of a side that can do something special. You know, like maybe go all the way in I don't know, the FA Cup? Not with the likes of Pardwew and his piss poor tactics, fucked up team selections and negativity, though. Now fire away... Struggling to see what Perch and Williamson did wrong. Willo I certainly dont blame for the goal. Literally what did Krul have to do for 90 minutes apart from pick the ball out of the net once? SFA tbh, total night off for him. Jonas and B Arfa were let downs. Having said that Ben Arfa's slotted pass for Best in the first half could have been enough to win it another night. I was thinking of swapping Hatem and Guti positionally at half time to get them both into the game.

You dont know the half of it mate. Luckily the wife has become accustomed to it. However have just got in from the depressing match, straight into the garden to listen to the middle and youngest daughter excitedly looking at Jupiter, its bands and the four moons. Priceless tbf. Sounds like good stuff. Have a good look at the moon and tell me it isn't artificial.

I'm not happy. If you let me and Mrs P come and stay in your posh gaff for a w/e in Paris I might find a way to forgive you. I let you get away with a lot of posturing on here as I have noticed you have somewhat of a fine mind....But don't push it.

Think the strikers should have been told to play closer together once it looked like we weren't really in danger of scoring and Hatem asked to drift inside to create the extra link man. Agree with the rest.- 10610 replies

Good books those toonotl. I spent some time in Tibet a while back at a monastery and I HAVE dabbled in Crowley, but who hasn't?

Thing is for me when we lose under Pardew it tends to be massively depressing. It's cos of the way we're set up. Brighton were absolutely shambolic and couldnt pass the ball to save their lives so we should have stuffed them, but Pardew always sets us up first and foremost to not lose. For me his only thought tonight was to make sure a cup tie never broke out because that could only be to Brighton's advantage. That plan absolutely worked as well as it was the most boring pile of shite going (and I accept that often has to be the case during the early stages of games fwiw so I have no qualms about it) with the focus then being on trying to pick up a goal as the opponent runs out of ideas/steam and at a stage of the game when its harder for them to do anything about it . Only we didn't do that tonight of course or look like doing it. And then of course Brighton go and score a shite goal that was just entirely a matter of luck. In the past under other managers when we've lost playing gung-ho it's been more gut wrenching. We've gone to places where we've had a palpably better team (like tonight), but then because we've just decided to go out and try and play football as the better team, we've shit ourselves when it's become a cup tie and we've lost the competitive battle. We'd score some great flowing goals and then concede when the opponent just punted it up the pitch to us and we bricked it at centre half and passed it back to their forwards under the pressure. It always felt like we had to move heaven and earth for a goal and then we'd make the opponent do nowhere near as much for their's. The Liverpool away as an example Pardew took an absolute slating. For me though it was the perfect away performance for about 70 minutes because we were still in it going into the final phase. Because we'd never had a go at them in any massive way however, when we got beat it felt depressing because you come away feeling like we'd never expressed ourselves. The reality is though, 99/100 if we had expressed ourselves we'd probably have been out of the game after 10 minutes, and that's absolutely what Pardew won't tolerate as a manager. As a club we're more capable than most of losing a game before it's started and for me that's what he's focussed on getting away from. This is a bi-product of it though. Good post. Hadn't really thought about it in those terms. I'm oldskool in the sense that when you play cup games against lower quality opp the idea for me is to stamp your authority on them in the first 10-15mins (with a high tempo and overloapping fullbacks) and try and score first which normally takes the wind out of their sails. Infact this might have been the ideal game for the old Pards 442 with two strikers up close together. Shola was completely isolated which is double bad as he don't move much. On the upside this now won't be a distraction from pushing for a european spot, which I think we are more than capable of.

Think they all had a bad game tbf...Just weren't at the races for whatever reason. The first 11 looks shaky and lacks drive without Tiote and Ba. But we know that.
-
Tactically all over them, just couldnt find that killer ball in the final third. Created enough to win it easily and we nullified them for most of the game. Mistakes by 3 of our players in a row cost us. He didnt show enough ambition at half time in retrospect but i was happy with a draw from the start so wasnt worried about it at the time either, as someone said though he should have changed it earlier as they were piss poor. We were unlucky today but i guess with all your chat about creating your own luck, you put that down to Pardew. He's done an amazing job overall getting us where we are with the squad he has, and if you had ever managed anything other than getting out of bed by lunchtime you might recognise that. r Bit personal the last sentence Adam. ??? I can get up late sometimes as you know I run my own business. We've had some good games under Pards and I do stick up for him sometimes but we've also got through a lot of games just with Ba's goals. Think you can admit that.
-
Think the side didn't look hungry and we looked asleep the first half. Always a danger of a breakaway goal in these kinds of games. **I WAS being sardonic earlier.

The fucking teeth on it man. He's already eaten the bloke next to him.

No-one has said that. Only nonsense here is your post.

At least it'll dampen down the Pards is god nonsense for a bit.

May that as it will...My vague dabblings reveal it so. Always....And probably forever. It's in the numbers and the Jews saw this very early days as they travelled widely (diaspora) and interacted with the Indus civ on trade routes and so on...They aligned themselves with the numbers (luck) and it is IMO one of the reasons they are persecuted...For they have caught onto some hidden mythos (not religious). Real Jews (the proper ones) aren't really religious they are mystical. Mysticism is a kind of luck promoter. To start on that road you have to give up on any notions of reality for the two are poles apart....."Make it so"...the man says... I take it you have given up the notion of reality then? The mind clings to it....I am aware of that. But being aware of that is the start. Some things I should impart... Starting a thread as you have is a kind of ritual...ritual is the cornerstone of magic. People on here with good intentions will point you toward more order ie sort yourself out' that kind of thing...But of course I know you've been trying that and have lost faith in it and you are right to do so...Order is mediocrity it is survival at its basest level....I'm sure it interests you even less than it interests me...What point going into a house that you have decorated and fawned over for years...The inside bores you..Of course...Cause you created it and you know all about it... Walk into a house that you have no idea what's inside. Magic is the key. YOu said something earlier about every moment being new...Of course that is completely right. What is gone is gone.

Order isn't the way of the universe, infact the opposite is true wherever we look. This shoudn't be unsettling once you accept the mind is the only thing that creates order. Untill quantum physics came along we used to think that we saw order in nature, but we now know that nature is chaos. Man can only be happy on this planet if he convinces himself that behind it all there is meaning, whereas the more we find out the more we realise there is no meaning...To any of it... You clearly studied Philosophy, ha. Anyway, I agree with you here. However, there must be a solution - as I said we need to change the way people think. How we do this is the issue. Changing what people think is easy, it's called society and it started when they got us to move into cities from the countryside to work in factories and so on...That infact is the easiest thing...I personally believe that solutions are born of accidents or intuition (unquantifiable). Luck if you like. ha ha... Cats apparently are very lucky, it's why the Egyptians worshipped them after a fashion....

It's why religion was promoted so heavily and taken up so eagerly, cause on those dark hopeless- never ending nights of doubt and fear there was something to cling onto....Let it go..And let all the other things go...ALL OF THEM...

A lot of this stuff is to do with self-image (how we see ourselves). Personally my feeling is that this is always changing and therefore I conclude that the thing which I think I am isn't real. If it isn't really real then I choose not to worry about it as it's just a result of my flawed perception (of things)...Which also may not be real...So, in short why worry? Cause you're at the end of the day worrying about things that might not actually exist outside of your own very weak perception of reality (whatever that is). NB My advice is dangerous if you're mentally susceptible.
