Well Pards has made some comments recently about this being a transitional year for Hatem and that he see's next year as the breakout year for him. I'm guessing these comments are designed to keep him at the club and give the player something to hang onto. I think we all hope he gives it at least one more season under us and gets to show his 'top game', cause he hasn't had enough pitch time this year to really get going. Pards has to make a choice next season between percentage football and allowing us to start playing a little bit more of an expansive game on the deck.

I was getting ready to come in here and lash Pards to the mast for that first half, but full credit to him for changing it at half time and making the descision that gave us bite from both wide positions. I hope to god he has a role for Hatem next year.

Get a decent right back next season and give the maestro a proper run in the side.

Magnifique!!!! Has to start every game. Showed in 45min what we've been missing the whole season. Easily the most creative player in the second half. Caused panic all through their def, drifting and dribbling into the box.

Are these "scores" based on anything in particular or are you just giving out your own scores. While I do hope for better than Simpson, I do think he gets more negativity than he deserves. He's had two or three goal line clearances and nearly scored again on Sarurday. They are based on a very special scoring tool that I invented.

If we're gonna continue with the classic 442 we ideally need two proper wingers.

Am fine me like, but I think people swallow a lot of media guff and post it on here as informed opinion. Theres been good and bad since relegation, I've mostly enjoyed going to the games. Cheerleaders and fanboys are entitled to their opinion of course, but I think theyre being sold a few whoppers by the club. I disagree. Since the Carroll sale, Pardew has been very careful with his words and has guaranteed nothing. Only the other day he was saying how we could lose players in the summer. We're certain to lose one or two of the big hitters imo. Hope I'm wrong obviously.

Not sure about that. We're led to believe he'd gone upstairs on deadline day and said he'd like to stay if we'd pay him what Liverpool were offering. We said we wouldn't do that and if he didn't like it he'd have to put in a transfer request cos we wouldn't sell him otherwise. The transfer request came from the player, not the club. The story of him 'poking his head round the corner' and saying Liv have offered me 70k a week or whatever is probably true. That is the kind of mut he is. Regardless it was IMO the best piece of transfer business we've carried out in living memory. 35m for an out of work doorman is stellar whichever way you look at it. The strategy of the club right now may be a 'mixed bag', but with regard to player trading it is for me heading in the right direction. We'll need one or two more windows to see if it continues. Tiote going won't be the end of the world. I'd be far more concerned if Ba left.

If you're saying he needs pitch time then I agree. People forget that for his type of player the PL is the hardest to adapt to as there is significantly less time on the ball compared to say France or Spain (Germany is a bit closer). I honestly think the likes of Pastore would need a good half a season starts to start showing his stuff in the PL. Nasri AND Silva have been on and off this season. Arsenal for instance now without Nasri and Fab just knock it wide and form a half circle as the mf catches up. ManU knock it through the middle and wide at lightning pace with cycling forwards (every time). Losing to Ajax at home (with a vastly superior side) in the europa league was the final education for them. It must have come as a shock to see players who are intellectually light years ahead of them. That's why they've been fucked in the CL. The requirements for bad football in the PL is the constant.

If we're gonna persist with this archaic 80's 442 we actually need 2 new wingers.
