  1. I don't believe we descended from Apes. Boom!
  2. This thread is a horror story of water wastage.
  3. Too cheap. I'd say 32k was about right. The Spurs cost band is 42k to 60k.
  4. Just get the feeling this is a massive blag and he copied his 'game philosophy statement' off the internets. Like when I used to go for posh jobs and get there early and walk around the office chatting to people and work out what they wanted to hear in the interview.
  5. Can so identify with that. Sleeping in the bath is one of my hi risk activities. Never take a bath before the acid has worn off.
  6. The riot is the latest in a series of problems at Foxconn which have threatened to sour Appleā€™s reputation. A succession of workers at its factories in Chengdu and Shenzen committed or attempted to commit suicide in 2010, raising fears over the working conditions. At one point, Foxconn began asking new members of staff to sign a contract promising that they would not kill themselves.....
  7. I shower about once a week. Mrs P goes on about it all the time. My skin is better than hers.
  8. Yeah it's in his dinning room. I never realised how off the scale he was till I saw that. Gone by Xmas.
  9. Mike Williamson was awarded a single BP after producing 4 clearances, 9 interceptions and a block to help the hosts pick up a clean sheet.
  10. What can I say? I have high's and low's. That doesn't detract from my ability to see an overall pattern in our play. Sometimes what we want isn't going to happen how we want it if that hinders our ability to win games and stay safe in the second phase ie You rarely see one of our CM's in the box (they are told to hold position against a counter). Spurs supporters are beginning to come to terms with this with over organised and detailed instructions of AVB. They have been pretty poor adjusting to the changeover - were very lucky to get a result against QPR a game in which they were comprehensively outplayed the whole first half and ginge wandered around scratching his head. Same with Rodgers at Liv (oh yes they pass a bit more) not creating many clear cut chances. Both these managers are about holding onto the ball and going through pre-set passing rituals before committing to the box (Chelsea still play like that even now). Look at ManC season before last with two DM's not crossing the half way line....(a team chock full of world class players). There is method in all this madness. It's called data analysis and seeing when critical moments happen in games what went wrong...Who was standing where and so on...So Pardew isn't alone in this. As Stevie said Santon is encouraged to fly wing when he has the ball and the first interchange is always with Guti who doesn't go gung ho anymore and covers the space. Again I see percentages, statics, analysis, prozone etc..It's why Pards talks a lot about belief and 'the group' cause he is aware that the side has to be constantly reminded about the team effort and 'buying into' his style. It's proabably the case that footballers by instinct don't really want to play like this...But look at Holland these days, look at Brazil all with spades more discipline and team mentality. Perhaps football itself with all the analysis has become boring? It's why It's why players like Hatem are one in a million.
  11. That's Pardewspeak. He knows full well what's going on but he also knows how to manage expectations.
  12. Pardew has a lot of good qualities and I've seen signs that he continues to learn and doesn't fear making mistakes. Hatem is the case in point. Nearly every game this season has been turned or impacted by our little genius and Pards has heaped praise on him nearly every post match. Hatem is being allowed to roam and do pretty much what he likes as long as he helps out with the defence when we don't have the ball (he does that all the time now). In the Everton game he made changes early and the key one of moving Perchino into the middle and Anita at RB where his medium passing and game reading come into their own away from the PL hustle and bustle of midfield (it takes time to grow into that). Although there is the usual 10-15 min when we do a bit of cogent passing and the team move about nicely it is pretty clear to everyone that this isn't the touchstone of our game. Our game is a percentage game and that inc often hitting the key men early - either dir to the strikers or the advanced Hatem. This is clear even when Cabaye has the ball and looks up he hits longer straighter balls even when they often lose posession (he would never do this for France ever). The system is not about fluid football (the team moving up on mass) it's about identifying danger zones early and getting the ball into them. This last season was the machinery that got us all those points, it's about breaking the game down into moments rather than breaking the game down into patterns. People forget how often Mourinho's side would hit Drogba early or that Benitez's full backs would get a proper glare if the crossed the half way line. The percentage game is about statistics and positional discipline it's primarily about winning matches. It isn't about looking pretty. This is what we had most of last season and nothing dramatic has happenned that I can see for Pards to change his mind.
  13. 3pts but really what a fiasco. All downhill from the pen miss.
  14. What a fuss we're making against sure relegation material.
  15. There was a massive argument about the iphone and they were studying the profit to earnings ratio when Cisse nicked the ball.
