What we have now is Anita running from side to side like a windmill. It might have escaped your notice the 20 odd games this season but Pardew plays zonal responsability already where players regardless of where the ball is hold positon. It would work better if weren't always one light due to the two clowns upfront. I also sense that Pardews tinkering means he is looking at ways to bridge over to a more central game.
