There have been dozens of water ditchings. Pilots are aware that design characteristics allow the plane to float for at least half an hour even with the doors open. Some aircraft are designed with the possibility of a water landing in mind. Airbus aircraft, for example, feature a "ditching button" which, if pressed, closes valves and openings underneath the aircraft, including the outflow valve, the air inlet for the emergency RAT, the avionics inlet, the extract valve, and the flow control valve. It is meant to slow flooding in a water landing.[4] No fuck off the lot of ya!!

If it hits the water in one piece they are designed to float for half an hour or so...Huge airliners have pockets of air all over them, in the wings (fuel is lighter than water even), the cabin is a huge bubble of air and they are incredibly light these days. Much lighter than the water they have to displace to sink.
