From what I understand about Brand is that he is being led astray (by dark forces) and as his recent appearance on Newsnight showed he has no real grasp of politics or economics. A kind of sloganism and turning up at various events with camera crew in tow has created this false picture of someone who 'understands' and someone who in his own words 'can amplify' various issue that affect the masses. His last two girlfriends have been a millionaire pop star and a relation (Gemima Khan) to one of the richest dynasties on the planet. Says it all really.

I used Lydon cause him and Brand are the same trope the Matrix churns out every cycle. Nice to see the before and after. No doubt Brand will be doing cook books in a few years. The funniest thing about Brand is that he realises that he has enough traction to turn his non-revolution into a career choice. Lydon anti-christ. Brand-Christ complex. Drugs. Check. Both working class. Both self-taught. Both failed to break America. Both Magpie talented but not good at one thing. Although I suspect Lydon's standup would be more sardonic. Media lovies. Manufactured anger. etc........

Our rulers will keep the market economy going for ages. I agree that at some point it will be pointless, but humans with time on their hands is a dangerours thing. You must realise that we are alerady practicing modern day ludditism to keep the status quo...There are many jobs that could have been totally replaced decades ago and many technologies kept on the back burner so as not to undermine the oil based economies and currencies.
