Even older coding on dvd on just a basic dolby stereo will feel you're watching it for the first time ie incidental and mood music come to life as well as the 24track audio ambient tracks that are painfully mixed with a lot of care. At the higher setting with blu ray at 5.1 or whatever...Something like Lawrence of Arabia will be a revelation. The Sony DAC masters on Blu ray are breathtaking and really add to the atmosphere.
